Pulmonary hypertension is a clinical syndrome on the pathophysiological basis of increased pulmonary artery pressure.The understanding of this syndrome involves a gradual process of updates and classification.This paper explains the basic concept of pulmonary hypertension,evolution of its classification and the latest classification criteria,in order to summarize a general network of research based on the classification of pulmonary hypertension,and let readers have a clearer understanding of this area.

Spleen tyrosine kinase(Syk) has been considered to be a signaling molecule of hematopoietic cells,which play an important role in lymphocyte maturation and activation of immune cells.Recent studies showed that Syk plays a crucial role in regulation of proliferation and migration in vascular smooth muscle cells.Prominent pathways include mitogen-activated protein kinases,phosphatidylinositol 3-kinases,Src and Rho-activated protein kinase.In this review,the role of Syk in those signal pathways is summarized.

Lots of studies implicate that pathological high-frequency oscillation (HFO) was associated with epilepsy. In recent years, new recording technologies have advanced such that, at high temporal and spatial resolutions, high-frequency oscillation can be recorded in partial epilepsy by intracranial electrodes. More and more researchers focus on the study of high frequency oscillation. The techniques, which were used to record, automatic mine, analysis and quantify high-frequency oscillation, are develop quickly. As a new biomarker of epilepsy, high-frequency oscillation can reflect the epileptic form activity. The HFO has a great value in localization of human epileptic brain and epilepsy surgery.

Objective To investigate the relationship between the polymorphisms of collagen type Ⅰ alpha 1 (COLIA1) gene and bone mineral density of postmenopausal women in Shanghai. Methods The polymorphisms of Sp1 binding site in COLIA1 gene were observed in 205 postmenopausal women by PCR, digested with MscⅠ restriction endonuclease and separated by 12% polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The capital letter S represents for the absence of the restriction endonuclease site, while the small letter s for the presence of the restriction endonuclease site. Bone mineral density at lumbar spine and femoral neck, etc. were measured by DEXA. Results Neither Ss nor ss genotypes of COLIA1 gene was found in our sample, all were SS genotype. Conclusion The contribution of Sp1 site variation of COLIA1 gene to bone mass might have a strong ethnic difference. The restriction fragment length polymorphisms of COLIA1 gene do not show relationship with the bone mass of postmenopausal women in Shanghai. The significance of this genetic marker of osteoporosis needs to be further explored in larger samples and in different areas.

To study the clinical features, diagnosis, and treatment of SCN8 A-related infantile spasm, one 21-month-boy identified a de novo mutation of SCN8 A-related infantile spasm was admitted to West China Second University Hospital, Sichuan University in September 2019 and was enrolled as a research subject.The clinical manifestation and diagnosis process were analyzed by carrying out the retrospective analysis method.This case is the first report on SCN8 A-related infantile spasm in China.This child had hiatal hernia, which has never been reported in SCN8 A gene mutation people.The boy shows marked developmental regression after the onset of seizures at 8-month-old, and a variety of antiepileptic drugs are ineffective.Recently, seizure types have changed into infantile spasm.Levetiracetam was stopped, and provided adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH). After treatment, the spasm was relieved.Hiatal hernia may be a phenotype of SCN8 A gene mutation.Sodium channel blockers display high efficacy in SCN8 A-related epilepsy.ACTH therapy for SCN8 A-related infantile spasm is effective.

Objective To establish the fingerprint detecting standard for Tanreqing NaCl Injection. Methods Using baicalin as reference substance to calibrate the common peaks by HPLC-ELSD. According to the technical requirements on fingerprint of traditional Chinese medicine injection, their relative retention times and peak area ratios were calculated and the similarity of ten batchs of samples was determined. Results On the basis of systematic methodology, ten batches of injection samples were tested and analyzed so as to establish HPLC fingerprint for the injection. Conclusion The relative retention times and peak area ratios of 16 common peaks on HPLC fingerprint all conform to the requirement. So the established fingerprint can be used as the one of important foundations for quality control of Tanreqing NaCl Injection.

AIM: To investigate the effect of antisense oligonucleotides(ASON) of c-sis on cellular cycle and proliferation of pulmonary artery vascular smooth muscle cells(VSMC).METHODS: Tissue mass culture was done to get VSMC of pulmonary artery. Different concentrations of antisense oligonucleotides of c-sis were added into the cultures to observe the VSMC proliferation curve using MTT test. The changes of VSMC cellular cycle were also observed by flow cytometry. RESULTS: ASON with mid-to high concentrations restrained the proliferation of VSMC apparently with the peak of cell growth being attenuated or eliminated. Affected by mid-concentration ASON, PDGF-BB showed significant accelerating effect on the proliferation of VSMC. The ratio of G 0/G 1 in cellular cycle was increased significantly in VSMC culture with ASON in comparison with control. Circular RNA (circRNA) is a widely present endogenous noncoding RNA that is covalently bonded at the 3' and 5' ends via trans-splicing to form a closed-loop structure with high stability, biological evolutionary conservatism,and tissue expression specificity. CircRNA has important biological functions, such as playing the role of microRNA (miRNA) sponge, regulating the expression of a par-ent gene, and improving transcription and translation levels. In gastrointestinal tumor, circRNA mainly plays the role of miRNA sponge, which affects the proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, and invasion of cancer cells. In addition, circRNA was specifically expressed in the tumor, and the expression level significantly differs from that of paracancer. Therefore, a highly conserved and stable circRNA se-quence is expected to be an early diagnosis and prognostic marker for gastrointestinal tumor. In this study, we review research advanc-es on circRNA and its relationship with gastrointestinal cancers (esophageal, gastric, colorectal, and liver cancers).

BACKGROUND:Abnormal immunological function is possibly observed after cardiac valve replacement. However, effect of continuous venovenous hemofiltration on immunological function after cardiac valve replacement is rarely reported.
OBJECTIVE:To observe the effect of continuous venovenous hemofiltration on the cellular immune function in patients with multiple organ dysfunction syndrome after cardiac valve replacement.
METHODS:Thirty-one patients with multiple organ dysfunction syndrome after cardiac valve replacement in Xijing Hospital, the Fourth Military Medical University of Chinese PLA, from August 2008 to July 2009, were included in this study. They were treated with continuous venovenous hemofiltration using AV600 hemofilter and were divided into two groups:survival group (17 survivors) and death group (14 deaths). In addition, 16 healthy blood donors served as the control group.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The duration of acute renal failure before continuous venovenous hemofiltration of survival group was significantly lower than that of death group (P<0.05). Before continuous venovenous hemofiltration, the CD4+/CD8+ratio and Th1/Th2 ratio of survival group and death group were lower than that of control group (P<0.05), and lymphocyte apoptosis rate and Fas/FasL antigen expression were higher than that of control group (P<0.05). This evidence suggested the presence of immunosuppression state and Th1/Th2 disbalance. During continuous venovenous hemofiltration, the CD4+/CD8+ratio and Th1/Th2 ratio of survival group were gradual y increased (P<0.05), while lymphocyte apoptosis rate and Fas/FasL antigen expression were gradual y decreased (P<0.05) at 24 hours. The above changes were observed in both survival group and death group, but emerged latter in death group. Continuous venovenous hemofiltration can improve cellular immune function, maintain the balance of T lymphocyte subsets and Th1/Th2, down-regulate Fas/FasL expression on the surface of lymphocyte membrane, and decrease lymphocyte apoptosis rate in patients with multiple organ dysfunction syndrome after cardiac valve replacement. Early continuous venovenous hemofiltration can improve patients’ prognosis.
