Chinese Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology 2001;0(08):-
Objective To determine the association of anomalies of female reproductive system with that of urinary system. Methods Two hundred and eighty-nine cases, including 59 with congenital vaginal inclined septum syndrome, 135 with septate uterus, 4 with unicornuate uterus, 13 with rudimentary horn of uterus, 58 with congenital absence of the uterus and vagina, 14 with imperforated hymen, and 6 with atresia of vagina, treated during the past 4 years, were analysed retrospectively. Results Anomalies of urinary system were more frequently found in patients with anisomerous anomalies of reproductive system(85. 53% , 65/76 cases). In 59 cases of congenital vaginal inclined septum syndrome, 43 had ipsilateral renal agenesis, 2 had one single pelvic kidney, 1 had bilateral horseshoe kidneys, 1 had left-side horseshoe kidney, 1 had one pair of renal pelvis and renal calices with ureters incorporated at middle and inferior segments on both sides. Ipsilateral renal agenesis was also seen in patients with rudimentary horn of uterus(14/14 cases) and unicornuate uterus(4/4 cases). However, there was no urinary system malformation seen in septate uterus patients (0/135 cases), imperforated hymen (0/16) and atresia of vagina (0/4 cases). Only 1 case of congenital absence of the uterus and vagina associated with ipsilateral renal agenesis. Conclusion Anomalies of reproductive ducts associated with renal malformations, especially anisomerous anomalies of reproductive system are not unusual. Early recognition and diagnosis is very important to prevention and treatment of such diseases.

OBJECTIVETo explore the clinical efficacy of Gengxueting (GXT) in treating hysteromyoma and its effects on estrogen receptor (ER) and progesterone receptor (PR).
METHODSSixty-four hysteromyoma patients with surgical indication were equally assigned to the treated group and the control group. Patients in the treated group were treated with GXT one capsule every day for 90 consecutive days before surgical operation, while those in the control group were treated with surgery alone. Serum levels of reproductive hormones were determined in the follicular phase before medication and one day before operation by RIA, and colored Doppler ultrasound examination was conducted for measuring the size of uterus and myoma. Moreover the protein expressions of ER and PR in tumor and uterine muscular tissues were detected by immunohistochemistry assay with streptomycin avidin-biotin peroxidase complex method.
RESULTSIn the treated group after medication, the serum level of estradiol was (167.0 +/- 85.9) pmol/L, progesterone (1.9 +/- 1.0) nmol/L, follicle-stimulating hormone (10.4 +/- 2.1) IU/L, and luteinizing (12.0 +/- 9. 8) IU/L, all reached the levels of early follicular phase, with the maximal size of myoma significantly decreased from (380.4 +/- 21.0) cm3 to (162.3 +/- 14. 8) cm3 (P < 0.01); and the ER and PR expressions in tumor tissue were significantly lower than those in the control group respectively (P < 0.01).
CONCLUSIONExpressions of ER and PR in hysteromyoma tissue could be significantly reduced by medication of GXT, which leads to significant shrinkage of tumor size and improvement of clinical symptoms.

Aim To observe the effect of laminarin L01 on the expression of eNOS and iNOS in aorta of rats with chronic inflammation induced by LPS. Methods Chronic inflammatory rat models were prepared by tail vein injection low dose LPS(0.4 mg·kg-1) once a week for four weeks. The rats were randomly divided into five groups. After the first injection of LPS, the DXM group was intraperitoneally injected with dexam-ethasone (10 mg·kg-1). L01 high, medium and low dose groups were intraperitoneally injected with L01 (50,30,10 mg·kg-1). The LPS group was injected intraperitoneally with equal volume of normal saline once a day. Another control group, only injection of normal saline, a total of four weeks. After the last administration, the number of whole white blood cells (WBC) was counted. ELISA was used to measure the hs-CRP in serum. The expressions of eNOS,iNOS and COX-2 mRNA were detected by RT-PCR. Results After four weeks of administration of L01, the number of WBC and the level of serum hs-CRP in chronic in-flammatory rats were significantly decreased. The ex-pression of eNOS was up-regulated, and iNOS and COX-2 expressions were down-regulated. Conclusions Laminarin L01 may regulate the expression and re-lease of endothelium-derived relaxing factor stimulated by LPS,and improve the endothelium-dependent dias-tolic function of aorta, thus protecting the damage of vascular endothelium.

BACKGROUNDSensitization in transplant candidates increases risk of irreversible immunologic injury of graft in the early period postoperatively. Elimination of anti-human leukocyte antigen (HLA) antibodies using protein A immunoadsorption (IA) might benefit these patients.
METHODSProtein A IA was used in 21 patients with high panel reactive antibody (PRA). The patients had IA 1 - 6 times (median 5 times) with the interval period was 2 - 5 days (median 2.5 days).
RESULTSTotal 67 IA procedures were carried out smoothly in all patients. IA treatment reduced PRA I (pre (31.4 ± 3.8)% vs. post (24.4 ± 3.4)%, P < 0.01) and II (pre (37.1 ± 4.3)% vs. post (34.1 ± 3.9)%, P < 0.01). However, PRA did not change in some patients after the treatment. The serum immunoglobulin (IgG, IgM and IgA) and complement C3, C4 level were decreased significantly. Hemoglobin and albumin levels were slightly decreased associated with IA procedures. Flu-like symptoms were observed in a few of cases during the procedure but generally mild and transient.
CONCLUSIONProtein A IA is capable to efficiently remove serum immunoglobulin and complement, reduce HLA class I and class II PRA in high sensitized transplant candidates, which is likely to benefit the kidney transplantation in these patients.

Chinese Medical Journal 2008;121(1):22-26
BACKGROUNDIn-stent restenosis (ISR) has become one of the most challenging problems in patients with coronary heart disease. At present, using non-invasive methods to assess ISR is a hot topic. In this investigation we attempted to explore the potential of magnetocardiography (MCG) in diagnosis of in-stent restenosis.
METHODSMCG was analyzed in 52 patients with coronary artery disease for three times: before stenting, one month and 7 months after successful intracoronary stenting.
RESULTSThe average classification of total maps (ACTM) and the ratio of abnormal maps (RAM) were lower in 1 month after intracoronary stenting compared with that obtained before stent planting (2.91 vs 2.52, 65.74% vs 42.80%, P < 0.01), while complex ventricular excitation index (CVEI) increased from -42.63 to -20.05 (P < 0.01). In ISR subgroup (n = 16), RAM decreased in 1 month after intracoronary stenting compared to it before stenting (68.99% vs 45.26%, P < 0.05). ACTM increased in 7 months compared to that obtained in 1 month after stenting (3.15 vs 2.51, P < 0.05). According to the ROC curve, ACTM showed its unique diagnostic value in restenosis patients. The sensitivity and specificity of ACTM were 80.0%, 69.40%, respectively. Its positive predictive value and negative predictive value were 54.6% and 88.5%, respectively.
CONCLUSIONSAfter successful intracoronary stenting, most parameters of MCG were improved. ACTM was of prognostic value in diagnosing ISR.

BACKGROUNDTransgenic overexpression of human prostasin in rats disturbs salt balance and causes hypertension. We investigated whether genetic variations in prostasin were implicated in hypertension or related phenotypes in the Xinjiang Kazakh population.
METHODSWe sequenced all exons and the promoter regions of the prostasin gene in 94 hypertensive individuals, and the genotype identification was performed by the TaqMan polymerase chain reaction method. Case-control studies were conducted in 938 Kazakh subjects.
RESULTSE342K and 2827G > A, which are novel variants, were successfully genotyped in the general Xinjiang Kazakh population with a sample size of 938 individuals (406 men and 532 women). Only one hypertensive patient was identified with the E342K mutation. No significant association was observed between 2827G > A and hypertension. However, quantitative traits of hypertensive intermediate phenotypes were significantly associated with the A allele; P = 0.041 and 0.034 for body mass index (BMI) in the additive and recessive models, P = 0.042 and 0.018 for OGTT-2h glucose in the additive and recessive models, P = 0.031 for IRT-3h insulin in the recessive model, and P = 0.038 for serum potassium in the dominant model.
CONCLUSIONSThis study does not provide evidence of a major role of prostasin variation in blood pressure modulation. However, association of prostasin polymorphisms with hypertension and metabolic effects can be observed in our population. Further investigation is warranted to clarify the relevance of prostasin polymorphisms to blood pressure regulation.

Chinese Journal of Biotechnology 2003;19(1):81-86
The model equations of the production phase of rHSA fermentation were derived on the base of both elemental balance and metabolic balance, then the unknown parameters of the model were estimated by multivariable optimization. The possible reasons of discrepancy of production rate between different period of fermentation were discussed. The model could preferably described the relations between different macroscopic reaction rates of the process and keys for the high-efficiency expression of HAS were deduced.
