Objective To explore the possibility of repairing face rhombus defect after resection of pathological tissues on the special regions. Methods After rhombus resection of a pathological tissues on the special regions of the face, using four triangular flaps at the any sides of the defect to stagger suturing each other and to constitute peculiar "M" flap repairing defect in 26 patients (12 males and 14 females). Results The flaps were all survived. No straight line scars were seen at the repairing regions and no scars contraction for the face contour was occurred. Conclusion This is a simple and effective operation procedure that can be used for rhombus defect of the special regions of the face.

Objective:To evaluate the reliability and accuracy of 3DSS-Ⅱ color structured-light scanning system for scanning and reconstructing the model of abutment tooth.Methods:5 plaster maxillary abutment tooth models were scanned and reconstructed by 3DSS-Ⅱ color structured-light scanning system,and then the 3D shapes of the models were measured by Geomagic 6.0 software and the plaster models were measured by manual with vernier caliper.The data were statistically analyzed.Results:The graphs of point-cloud were obtained from scanning surfaces of abutment tooth models.There were close correlations and no significant differences between different groups(r≈1,P

Objective To compare the differences in responsive ability and oxidative stress damage between type 2 diabetic rats and normal rats under acute sepsis associated with stress hyperglycemia.Methods GK rats with type 2 diabetes and Wistar rats were established critical ill models of sepsis by intraperitoneal injection of 5 mg/kg lipopolysaccharide(LPS).Before and after LPS injection,serum levels of proinflammatory cytokines tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α),interleukin (IL)-1β3,and IL-6,and anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10 were determined.Malondialdehyde (MDA) and total antioxidative capacity (T-AOC) levels in serum and tissues (lung,liver,kidney,heart) were measured by colorimetric determination.Results Before LPS injection,serum levels of TNF-α,IL-6,and IL-10 in GK rats were higher than those of Wistar rats.The serum levels of TNF-α,IL-6,and IL-10 after LPS injection were raised in both GK rats and Wistar rats (all P＜0.05).At baseline,serum MDA level of GK rats was higher than that of Wistar group [(25.76 vs 12.71) μmol/L,P＜0.05],while T-AOC level were lower [(0.60 vs 2.8) U/ml,P＜0.05].One hour after LPS injection,the serum MDA level in two kinds of rats significantly increased compared with those of their baseline levels [(32.30 and 20.19) μmol/L,both P＜0.05],while their serum T-AOC level decreased [(0.20 and 2.08) U/ml,P＜0.05]).There were no signigicant differences in the change trend of serum MDA and T-AOC between the two kinds of rats.MDA and T-AOC levels in tissues had no significant difference before and after LPS injection in GK and Wistar rats (P＞0.05).Conclusions The rats with type 2 diabetes had lowered level of proinflammatory factors and raised level of anti-inflammatory factors under acute sepsis,presenting better tolerance and lowered probability of inflammatory diffusion compared with normal rats.

Objective To investigate the expression of minichromosome maintenance protein 7 (MCM7) in sinonasal squamous cell carcinoma (SNSCC),and evaluate its relationship with tumor differentiation and prognosis of patients.Methods Using immunohistochemistry,MCM7 expression in SNSCC and nasal polyps with chronic sinusitis (NPCRS) were studied,and relationships between markers and clinicapathological features were analyzed.Results In NPCRS,MCM7 positive cells were mainly distributed in the epithelial basal layer and the expression rate was low,whereas in SNSCC,MCM7 positive cells were diffuse and the expression rate was high.MCM7 expression was significantly higher in SNSCC than in NPCRS (P ＜ 0.001) and related to tumor differentiation (P =0.001),increasing gradually with decreasing degree of differentiation.The overall 3-and 5-year survival rates of patients with SNSCC were 61.3％ and 46％,respectively.The 3-year survival rates for patients with stage Ⅰ and Ⅳ were 90％ and 25.6％,respectively,and the 5-year survival rates were 70％ and 17.1％,respectively;the difference was statistically significant (P ＜ 0.001).The 3-and 5-year survival rates of MCM7-negative patients were 36.0％ and 18.0％,respectively,and those of MCM7-positive patients were 59.9％ and 34.2％,respectively;the difference was not statistically significant (P =0.297).Conclusion In SNSCC,MCM7 expression is significantly increased,inversely associated with the degree of tumor differeutiation,and unrelated to the survival rates of patients.

Aim To investigate the mechanism of dia-betes changing the hepatic CYP1 A2 through in vitro cell culture study.Methods The function of CYP1 A2 in HepG2 and Fa2N-4 cells were evaluated by determi-ning the level of phenacetin metabolism,and the mR-NA expression of CYP1 A2 in cells was detected by real time PCR.HepG2 cells were co-cultured with serum of diabetic rats(type 1 and type 2)and normal rats,then the CYP1 A2 function in cells were evaluated.Then, the HepG2 and Fa2N-4 cells were co-cultured with a series of concentrations of saturated (including palmitic acid and stearic acid)and unsaturated fatty acids(in-cluding oleic acid and linoleic acid)for 48 h,and the function and expression of CYP1 A2 in the cells were compared.Results It was found that the activities of CYP1 A2 were higher in cells incubated with diabetic serum of both type.All high concentration of fatty acids could increase the function and expression of CYP1 A2 in both HepG2 and Fa2N-4 cells.Conclusion It is speculated that the abnormal level of fatty acids under diabetic state might be part of the reasons why diabetes change the hepatic CYP1 A2,which provides the basis for future study.

The diversity in Tibetan kefir grains and dynamics of the microbial community during the fermentation of Tibetan kefir by PCR-DGGE fingerprinting technique were studied.The results showed that bacterial community of Tibetan kefir grains was more complex than that of yeast.The bacteria communities between different Tibetan kefir grains showed 78%～84% similarity, and yeast 80%～92%.Bands B, E and N of DGGE profiles of the microbial community during fermentation of Tibetan kefir were present throughout the fermentation.Analysis of sequence date showed the majority of the DGGE bands of bacteria community corresponded to LAB, and the most intense band (band E) was completely homology to Lactococcus lactis.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the expression of B-cell translocation gene 1 (BTG1) and to determine the relationship between BTG1 expression and clinicopathological features, biological behaviors in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma. METHOD: Immunohistochemistry and Western blot were used to analyze BTG1 protein expression in 70 cases of laryngeal cancer and 35 cases of adjacent corresponding laryngeal mucosal tissues to illuminate the relationship between BTG1 expression and clinical factors. RESULT: The positive rate of BTG1 protein expression was 31.43% in laryngeal carcinoma tissues, significantly lower than 91.43% in the adjacent laryngeal tissues (P < 0.05). Western blot showed the relative expression of BTG1 protein between cancer lesion and adjacent tissue were 0.217 ± 0.032 and 0.918 ± 0.081, showing the difference with statistical significance (P < 0.05). The expression of protein was significantly correlated with the tumor invasion, lymph node metastasis, clinic stage and histological grade (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01), but not with sex, age and tumor location (P > 0.05) of patients with laryngeal cancer. CONCLUSION The expression of BTG1 protein was decreased in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma, suggesting that BTG1 gene may be closely associated with the carcinogenesis and the degree of malignancy. Detection of BTG1 expression may be useful in diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of laryngeal carcinoma.

Objective The abnormal ankle-brachial index ( ABI) is associated with the incidence of cardiocerebral vascular diseases, but little is known about its relationship with cerebral microbleeds (CMB).This study aimed to investigate the correlation be-tween ABI≤0.9 and different distribution patterns of CMB . Methods We enrolled 187 patients with acute lacunar infarction , inclu-ding 115 non-CMB cases and 72 CMB cases (20 strictly lobar, 24 strictly deep, and 28 lobar and deep).We analyzed the differences between the two groups and the association of abnormal ABI with the occurrence and distribution of CMB by logistic regression analysis . Results ABI≤0.9 was found in 57 (30.5%) of the patients, with a significantly higher incidence rate in the CMB group than in the non-CMB group (43.1%vs 22.6%, P=0.003).The level of ABI was negatively correlated with the number of CMBs (r=-0.211, P=0.006).Multivariate logistic regression analysis after adjusted for confounders indicated that ABI ≤0.9 was significantly associated with the presence of CMB (OR=2.363;95%CI:1.181-4.729), deep CMB (OR=3.434;95%CI:1.283-9.187), and lobar and deep CMB ( OR=2.837;95%CI:1.098-7.333) in patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease . Conclusion Decreased ABI is a risk factor of CMB, particularly deep CMB, in patients with ischemic stroke.

Objective To discuss the effects of acupuncture therapy on resting state functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) in patients with ischemic stroke; To explore the central mechanism of acupuncture therapy.Methods Ten is chemic stroke patients with hemiplegia limbs and ten matched control subjects were included. Treatment group was given anti-platelet aggregation, anticoagulation, and nutrition brain cell therapy. At the same time, acupuncture therapy was given, taking Jianyu, Quchi, Shousanli, Waiguan, Hegu, Zusanli, Fenglong, Yanglingquan, Sanyinjiao, and Taichong, with even reinforcing-reducing method, and retaining the needle 30 min, manipulating needle every 10 min, once a day, 5 times a week, needle stopping for 2 d, for continuous 30 d. The health group did not undergo any treatment. BOLD-fMRI imaging technique was used, and based on RSET1.8 software, the parameters of brain activity before and after treatment were observed by amplitude of low frequency fluctuation (ALFF) method. The Results were compared with healthy group. Results Before treatment, the ALFF value of left caudate nucleus, putamen and globus pallidus in the treatment group was lower than that in the health group, and the ALFF value of bilateral precentral and postcentral gyrus, left grus frontalis superior, gyrus frontalis medius, gyrus temporalis medius and precuneus was higher than the health group (P<0.05). After treatment, the ALFF value in left caudate nucleus, putamen and globus pallidus in the treatment group was higher than that before treatment, and the ALFF value in left gyrus frontalis superior, gyrus frontalis medius and precuneus decreased than before group (P<0.05).Conclusion In the resting state of the ischemic stroke patients with hemiplegia limbs, the principal injured brain regions are caudate nucleus, putamen and globus pallidus. Acupuncture has a regulatory role for these brain areas, presumably may be the central mechanism of efficacy.

Objective To determine the genetic background and evolutional route of macrolideresistance Streptococcus pneumoniae(MRSP)strains in Shanghai.Methods Forty-seven MRSP clinical isolates were genotyped by pulse field gel electrophoresis(PFGE)to detect the donal relationship of therm.Serotyping and muhilocus sequence typing(MIST)on 6 multi-resistant strains wag used to investigate the evolutional relationship between serum types and international epidemic strain among MRSP strains in Shanghai.Results There were 2 epidemical clones(type A 45%,type B 17%)in MRSP clinical isolates containing both the ermB and the mefE genes in Shanghai.MIST analysis showed that all 6 multi-resistant strains whose PFGE pattern was A type belonging to Asia clonal complex-CC236(Taiwan19F-14 clone).There was a novel ST-ST2116,which might derived from CC236 due to the recombination with alldic change.Conclusion,The high prevalence of erythromycin-resistant Streptococcus pneumoniae containing both the ermB and the mere genes in Shanghai is partly due to the clonal spread of a few mtdtidrng-resistant clones.
