1.Kawasaki disease and allergic diseases
International Journal of Pediatrics 2012;39(3):234-236
Kawasaki disease (KD) is one of the most common causes of acquired heart disase in children, the development of which is closely related to the allergic diseases.Recent studies have manifested that the incidence of allergic diseases in children with KD is far higher than that in those children without KD.Meanwhile, the morbidity of KD in allergic children is significantly higher than that in those who do not have family medical history of allergic diseases.By far,the mechanisms causing interaction between KD and allergic diseases still remain unclear.Possible mechanisms include IgE-meditated immune response, release of large quantity of cytokines and inflammatory meditators as well as atopic family history.
2.Progress in the role of steroids in Kawasaki disease therapy
International Journal of Pediatrics 2013;40(4):367-370
Kawasaki disease(KD) is the most common reason for acquired heart disease in children, which is closely related to autoimmune response and the release of cytokines in vascular endothelial cells.Steroids are strongly effective in countering inflammation as well as immune response. In the time of being,it has become a hot spot that steroids play an important role in the initial treatment for acute KD and for incomplete and refractory KD.
5.Association between tracheal epitheliums and bronchitis obliterans following lung transplantation
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2010;14(5):911-914
Lung transplantation is the only effective treatment for final stage pneumonopathy. However, bronchitis obliterans, as the main of complication, can prevent the long term survival after lung transplantation. Tracheal epithelium cell is the main target organ of the tardive reject reaction. This paper briefly explains the immunologic mechanism regarding the development of bronchitis obliterans, and the role of tracheal epithelium cell in the study, with aim of exploring the initial relationship between tracheal epithelium cell and bronchitis obliterans, and to find a method to solve the long-term survival of lung transplantation.
6.Clinical analysis for patients with severe chronic emphysema treated by lung volume reduction surgery
Chinese Journal of General Practitioners 2009;8(7):461-463
Objective To study effectiveness and safety of lung volume reduction surgery(LVRS) in treatment for severe chronic emphysema(chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). Methods Clinical data of 24 patients of severe chronic emphysema undergone with LVRS during January 2004 to June 2007 were analyzed retrospectively.LVRS was performed for the patients after respiratory tract preparation based on their pulmonary function, results of blood gas analysis, cardiac function,as well as physical activity capacity.and surgical incision Was selected based on"target"location of emphysema with chest computerized tomography and isotope lung perfusion scanning,22 cases with standard unilateral LVRS via outer post-lateral incision and two with bilateral LVRS via mid-sternal incison.A linear device for cutting and stitching was used in surgical operation to excise the lung tissues of severe emphysema with strips of bovine pericardium to prevent air leakage. Results All the patients were followed-up for 19 months in average and complications occurred in seven of them after operation, including four with leakage of the alveoli.two with cardiac arrhythmia and one with pneumonia, and no death was observed.Pulmonary function and symptoms of dyspnea improved obviously in all the patients after operation, and they all could care for themselves,in general, with scales of dyspnea increased to grade Ⅰ in one case,to grade Ⅱ in 10 cases and to grade Ⅲ in three cases. Conclusions LVRS can improve pulmonary function of selected patients with severe emphysema,to certain extent, and its safety will depend on strict selection of the patients and correct peri-operative care.
7.Expression of tenascin and CD34 in human esophageal squamous cell carcinoma
Chinese Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery 2008;24(6):393-395
Objective To investigate the expressions of tenascin(TN)and microvessel density(MVD) in esophageal squamors cell carcinoma. Methods The experessions of TN and MVD were observed by immunohistochemiccal methods in 91 cases of esophageal carcinoma and 47 cases of ono-esophageal carcinoma. Results ①The expression of tenascin in esophageal cancer was much high than that in t he normal tissue(t=12.331,P<0.01).②Over expression of TN was related to th length(F=12.373,P<0.01),the invasion(F=11.039,P<0.01),the lymphatic metastasis(F=6.882,P=0.01)and the pathologic trade(F=5.060,P=0.003)of cancer.③The expression fo MVD in the esophageal carcinoma tissues was stonger than that in the nonesophageal carcinoma tissues(t=6.023,P<0.01).④Over expression of NVD wsa related to the length(F=9.033,P<0.01),the lymphatic metastasis(F=12.429,P<0.01)and the pathologic grade(F=5.717,P<0.01)of cancer.⑤The positive expressions of TN and MVD were associated(P=0.001).Conclusion TN;s voerexpressions may be a biological marker in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma..It was associated with the expression of MVD.The levels of TN and NVD were useful molecular markers for evaluating malignancy degree and lymph node metastasis of esopageal carcinoma.
8.Glial microenvironment and repair in central nervous system injury
International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2010;18(2):151-156
Central nervous system (CNS) injury, including brain injury and spinal cord injury, has higher disability and mortality. Therefore, CNS injury repair has been a research emphasis and focus in the field of neuroscience. The limited neurons intrinsic regenerative capacity in adult mammalians is one of the reasons of regeneration difficulties after CNS injury. However, the more important reason is the formation of inhibitive glial microenvironment at the local lesion sites. This article reviews the roles of all types of cells, such as astrocyte, microglia, taxi oligodendroglia in gtial microenvironment in CNS injury repair.
9.Optimal fields and dose of postoperative radiation in esophageal carcinoma
Journal of International Oncology 2011;38(1):48-51
Among esophageal cancer patients who had undergone radical surgery, the overall 5-year survival rate ranges from 20% to 30%. Postoperative radiotherapy is important adjunctive and remedial treatment. However, currently, there is no clear consensus on the indication of postoperative radiotherapy, the optimal radiation fields and dose. We review and summarize the relevant studies for clinical references.
10.Effects of Yiqi-Humo recipe on mucosa repair after EMR and ESD
International Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2012;(12):1078-1080
Objective To observe the influences of Yiqi-Humo recipe,A traditional Chinese prescription,on mucosa repair after endoscopic mucosal resction (EMR) and (or) endoscopic submucoal dissection (ESD).Methods 32 patients, who received EMR or ESD,were randomly recurited into a control group with 14 patients (omeprazole) and a experiment group with 18 patients (Yiqi-Humo recipe + omeprazole).Patients of both groups received treatment for a period of 4 weeks.Follow-up endoscopy was performed at 1 and 4 weeks after EMR or ESD,the index of symptom and mucosa signs were evaluated before and after the operation. Results At the 4 weeks after the procedure, the index of pain, pantothenic acid, anorexia, burning sensation in the experiment group [(0± 0.00)、(0± 0.00)、(2 ± 0.11)、(1 ± 0.06)] were lower than those in the control group [(12±0.86)、(6±0.43)、(15 ± 1.07)、(14± 1.00),P<0.01].The index of hyperemia and edema of the experiment group [(3 ± 0.17)、(3 ± 0.17)] were less than those of the control group [(16± 1.14)、(15 ± 1.07),P< 0.01].Conclusion The prescription of Yiqi-Humo recipe promoted mucosa repair significantly after EMR or ESD.
