AIM:To investigate the possible preventive mechanism of Tongfu Xiezhuo Decoction(Radix astragali,Radix et Rhizoma rhei,Rhizoma acori tatarinowii,Semen pharbitidis,Radix aconiti lateralis praeparata,Radix et Rhizoma ginseng, Rhizoma atractrylodis macrocephale,Radix et Rhizoma Salviae mltiorrhizae,Semen Vaccariae,Pericarpium citri reticulate) for the tubule interstitial fibrosis by influence on the expression of ?-SMA,LN,ColⅢ in rats. METHODS: Unilateral ureteral occlusion(UUO) rats were randomly divided into 6 groups,including Sham,UUO,Enalapril group and Tongfu Xiezhuo Decoction of high-dosage,mid-dosage and low-dosage groups,the same amount of physiological saline for intragastric administration was administered by gavage.Sera and the kidney tissues were collected from each group on the twelfth day,Scr and BUN were measured.HE,VG staining measurement of tubulo-interstitial damage index and collagen deposition level,immuneohistochemical studies localizing ?-smooth muscle,actin(?-SMA),laminin-(LN),collagenⅢ(ColⅢ)were carried out. OBJECTIVE To investigate the isolation and antimicrobial resistance of nonfermentative Gram-negative bacilli(NFGNB) in order to provide laboratory evidence for clinically selecting antibiotics.METHODS All isolates were identified by routine procedure and DADE BEHRING MicroScan auto-system,and K-B paper disk diffusion in accordance with NCCLS standards was employed for drug sensitivity tests.RESULTS There were 273 strains of NFGNB isolated from Feb 2005 to Aug 2006,mainly from sputum,middle urine and secretion. The main NFGNB were Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Acinetobacter baumannii and Stenotrophomonas maltophilia.The resistance rates of P.aeruginosa and A.baumannii to imipenem/cilastatin,cefoperazone/sulbactam and cefepime were less than 13.6%,11.9% and 25.4%;to amikacin and piperacillin/tazobactam were 31.1% to 37.8%.The resistance rate of S.maltophilia was the highest among the NFGNB.Its resistance rates to imipenem/cilastatin showed 100%,to cefoperazone/sulbactam,levofloxacin and compound sulfamethoxazole were less than 14.3%.CONCLUSIONS The NFGNB are the important pathogens causing clinical infection,especially P.aeruginosa,A.baumannii and S.maltophilia.There are significant differences in antimicrobial resistance among different NFGNB.

BACKGROUND: What deserves exploration is the relationship between menstrual cycle phase and athletic ability of female athletes, especially the mechanism of athletic performance influenced by different menstrual cycle phases.OBJECTIVE: To compare the hormone level of different menstrual cycle phases and the changes of athletic performance as well as its effect on athletic performance.DESIGN: Single sample and single factor analysis.SETTING: Zhejiang Insftute of Sport Science; College of Education,Zhejiang University; Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Zhejiang Provincial People's Hospital.PARTICIPANTS: Specially designed menses card were distributed to all the female athletes in the gig team and track & field team in Zhejiang Province in 2000. Consecutive 3-month recording was made to investigate the status of menstrual cycle phases of female athletes. Twenty-five athletes with regular menses were chosen as subjects, among whom 12 were specialized in gig racing with the average age of 19 years and 13 were specialized in track & field events with the average age of 18 years. They all had more than 3-year training experience, 6 days a week and 4-6 hours a day. They were healthy, had regular menstrual cycle, and had not taken any drug which influences the menstrual cycle.METHODS: Blood samples of the testees were collected at hour 8-9 AM at follicular phase (days 6-10) and luteal phase (days 19-23). Full-automatic chemiluminescence immunoassay equipment was used to measure the level of estradiol (E2), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), progesterone, and testosterone in serum. coefficient of variability in batch of reagent was ＜5%. Testees accomplished test of their athletic performance and the test of lactic acid 1 to 2 days after blood sample collection. Gig athletes performed 2000 m and 500 m full-strength pull with Concett Ⅱ boating ergometer while track & field athletes performed 100 m and 200 m full-speed running; the time needed was recorded. Gig athletes conducted 2000 m movements on the ergometer with the frequency of 26 times per minute. Track & field athletes carried out three times of 300-meter running with 90% of intensity with 3-minute intervals. Immediately after movements, the lactic acid value was measured following blood collection.Paired t test of the small sample study was used for significance detection.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The level of E2, FSH, LH, proges-terone and blood lactic acid in serum; 2000 m and 500 m performance of gig athletes as well as 100 m and 200 m performance of track & field athletes were measured by the ergometer.RESULTS: Twenty-five athletes accomplished detection of all the indexes and entered the result analysis. The level of FSL, progesterone and testosterone of gig athletes was higher at luteal phase than at follicular phase;however, E2 and LH level did not significantly differ. The level of progesterone and testosterone of track & field athletes was higher at luteal phase than at follicular phase; however, E2, FSH and LH level did not significantly differ. 500 m performance of gig athletes detected by the ergometer, and 100 m and 200 m full-speed running performance of track & field athletes at luteal phase were superior to those at follicular phase, but no significant difference was found in 2000 m performance of gig athletes. When the same loading was accomplished at follicular phase and luteal phase, the lactic acid value at luteal phase was significantly lower than that at follicular phase.CONCLUSION: Tested athletes at luteal phase have good functional status, which may be related to the changes of menstrual cycle hormone level and synergistic effect of various hormones under thes state of athletic movements. It suggests that sufficient attention should be paid to the menstrual cycle of female athletes.

Objective To study the effect of theory and practice integrated teaching in der-matology education and to explore the effective teaching means. Methods 53 five-year program stu-dents of Grade 2008 who major in clinical medicine were subjects. 26 students involved in the inves-tigation were taught with theory and practice integrated teaching. 27 students were taught with tradi-tional teaching method. In order to understand the teaching effect, we use questionnaire in experimental group and carry on comprehensive evaluation in both group at the end of the course . Descriptive statistics method was applied to describe the experimental group students' evaluation of the theory-practice integration teaching methods; The results of the two groups of students were applied t-test to perform statistical analysis and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Results The stu-dents in the experimental group hold positive attitudes to theory and practice integrated teaching. 25 students (96.2%) in experimental group confirmed the necessity of it and considered that it could improve the communication skill. 24 students (92.3% ) confirmed it attractive and considered that it could improve the learning interest and capacity of clinical practice. 23 students (88.5% ) thought active learning and learning efficiency were promoted and theoretical knowledge was consolidated. 22 students (84.6%) considered that it could promote the comprehension of dermatology. Besides, the ex-perimental group students' medical ethics, theory and skills were significantly higher than those of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Theory and practice integrated teaching in dermatology edu-cation is effective. It can promote students' learning interest and initiative. It can improve the profes-sional quality of students and comprehensive quality of teachers.

Background and purpose:Retinoic acid-induced gene G (RIG-G) is a tumor suppressor gene which is cloned by NB4 cell line from a acute promyelocytic leukemia cell. This study aimed to investigate the effect ofRIG-G in lung cancer cells A549 by constructing a lentiviral vector expressing RIG-G under doxycycline (DOX) regulation.Methods:RIG-G gene ampliifcation was performed by quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR). pLenti6/TO/V5-GIM-RIG-G lentiviral vector withGFP was built by LR recombination system. The concentration of pLenti6/TO/V5-GIM-RIG-G lentiviral vector andTet-on lentiviral vector were measured by virus titer method. After infecting A549 cells, stably transfected lines were selected via limiting dilution analysis.RIG-G gene expression was examined by immunolfuorescence staining and Western blot assay. Cellular proliferation was determined by CCK-8 assay.Results:The concentrations of pLenti6/TO/V5-GIM-RIG-G lentiviral vector andTet-on lentiviral vector were 1.0×108TU/mL and 4×109 VP/mL, respectively. RIG-G was expressed in lentivirus infected A549 cells after adding DOX, and the amount of cells withGFP could be observed by lfuorescence microscopy.After the expression of RIG-G protein, the prolif-eration activity of A594 cell was signiifcantly inhibited compared to the control group (1.168±0.107vs 2.099±0.162, P<0.05).Conclusion:The regulated expression ofRIG-G gene was established in A549 lung cancer cell line. The RIG-G protein has potential abilities to inhibit the proliferation of lung cancer cell A549.

Objective To investigate the application of radiofrequency surgery technology in the treatment of proliferating dermatosis of face.Methods A total of 572 patients treated with radio fre quency technology from September 2008 to March 2010 in Shanxi Provincial People's Hospital,were analyzed retrospectively.Results In all 572 eases were cured,and the cure rate was 92.13 ％.All of the operations by radio frequency achieved effectively ideal results.Conclusions This allows less bleeding during surgery,and precise cut,and less pigmentation.Radiofrequency technology is applica bie to highly refined facial surgery.It is worthy to be popularized in clinical practice.

Objective To investigate the mechanism of cigarette smoke promotes non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) NCI-H520 cell line proliferation mediated by macrophages with method of blocking NFκB-p65 pathway by RNAi.Methods To co-culture NCI-H520 cells with primary macrophages or U937 cell line,the Transwell Inserts system was used in cell co-culture model.NFκB activation was confirmed by electrophoretic mobility shift assay (EMSA) and Western blot analysis.U937 cells were transfected with NFκB-p65 shRNA plasmid to abrogate the NFκB activation,by BrdU ELISA,the effect of cigarette smoke extract (CSE) promoted NCI-H520 cells proliferation were assessed,inflammatory factors TNF and IL-6 expressions were analysed by ELISA.Results Exposure of CSE enhanced NFκB-p65 nuclcus translocation and activated the NFκB pathway.CSE did not promote NCI-H520 cells proliferation alone (P ＞ 0.05),but after 4 days coincubation with macrophages,the proliferation of NCI-H520 cells was significantly increased (P ＜0.01),addition of CSE to the co-culture much more enhanced this effect (P ＜ 0.01).After NFκB-p65 was blocked by RNAi,it significantly reduced NFκB-p65 protein expression and inhibited NFκB activation in U937 p65-cells,and markedly inhibited U937 cells induced proliferation of NCI-H520 cells and IL-6,TNF secretion (P ＜ 0.01).Conclusion Cigarette smoke promotes NCI-H520 cells proliferation mediated by macrophages.Blockade of NFκB pathway with RNAi in macrophages can reduced cigarette smoke induced inflammatory factors secretion in macrophages,and significantly inhibit cigarette smoke promoted tumor proliferation.

Objective: To study the effects of soluble vascular endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1(sVCAM-1) and soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (sICAM-1) in recurrent oral ulceration (ROU). Methods: sVCAM-1 and sICAM-1 in oral menbrane tissue sampls were measured with an enzyme linked immunosorbent assay using sandwich technices in 45 patients with ROU and 40 nomal controls. Results: The expression level of sVCAM-1 in the oral membrane tissue samples of ROU patients was higher than that in the controls (P0.05). Both sVCAM-1 and sICAM-1 expression were not significantly different with the stages (ROU-active and ROU-free) of the lesion. Conclusion: sVCAM-1 might play a role in ROU.

Objective To investigate the effect of age on activity of cholineacetyltransferase(ChAT) and acetylcholinesterase(AChE) in cerebral cholinergic nerve system of rat.Method According to age,male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into the following 3 groups at random: 4～5 weeks old group,4～5 months old group,14～15 months old group(n=10,respectively).Chromatometry was used to assay the activity of ChAT and AChE in cerebral cortex,hippocampus and corpus striatum.Results In 14～15 months old rats,activity of ChAT and AChE in cerebral cortex,hippocampus and corpus striatum was prominantly reduced,as compared with that in 4～5 months old rats and in 4～5 weeks old rats(ChAT: P0.05).Conclusion There is a negative correlation between age and activity of ChAT and AChE in cerebral cholinergic nerve system.
