1.Application of mesangial thyroid resection in papillary thyroid carcinoma with central lymph node dissection and its influence on postoperative recurrence

Objective To explore the application of mesangial thyroid resection in papillary thyroid carcinoma(PTC) with central lymph node dissection,and its influence on postoperative recurrence.Methods 76 cases with PTC were divided into two groups according to random number table,each group in 38cases.The control group was given primary lesions radical prostatectomy and routine central lymph node dissection,the treatment group was given primary lesions radical prostatectomy and central lymph node dissection by thyroid mesangial resection.The parathyroid function,injury of recurrent laryngeal nerve and local recurrence were compared between the two groups.Results Compared with before surgery,the levels of serum PTH and blood calcium were significantly decreased at the 1st,3rd day after surgery (all P < 0.05),while there were no statistically significant differences in serum PTH and blood calcium at the 7th day after surgery(all P >0.05).The levels of serum PTH and blood calcium at the lst,3rd,7th day after surgery between the two groups had no statistically significant differences(all P < 0.05).The incidence rate of injury of recurrent laryngeal nerve in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group (5.3% vs.21.1%,x2 =4.15,P < 0.05).The secondary surgery rate and local recurrence within 2 years in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group (0% vs.15.8%,2.6% vs.18.4%,x2 =6.51,4.69,all P < 0.05).Conclusion Primary lesions radical prostatectomy and central lymph node dissection by thyroid mesangial resection can be used as theroutine operation for PTC,which can effectively produce complete dissection,reduce injury of recurrent laryngeal nerve and local recurrence.
2.Clinical characteristics of 16 fatality cases of hand foot and mouth disease caused by enterovirus 71

ObjectiveTo explore clinical characteristics of fatality cases of hand foot and mouth disease caused by enterovirus 71 (EV71),and to improve the diagnosis and treatment of the disease.Methods Sixteen children infected with EV71 were retrospectively reviewed.Clinical manifestation,laboratory data and death causes were analyzed.ResultsAll cases were younger than four years,and the mean age was 18.9 months.Seasonal variations in incidence were observed,with a peak in incidence during the summer season.These cases typically presented with a brief duration of febrile illness,nonspecific neurological signs including headache,vomiting,limb tremor and convulsions.After two to four days,they all got sudden deterioration,manifested with tachycardia,poor peripheral perfusion,tachypnea and transient hypertension.After intubation,they all had pink frothy or blood from the endotracheal.Tweleve of them died from pulmonary edema or pulmonary hemorrhage,and acute refractory cardiac dysfunction.The other four of cases died from brain stem encephalitis.Atypical presentation such as absence of skin rash should alert the physician.Total white cell count,blood glucose and cardiac troponin I were raised significantly.The protein raised in cerebrospinal fluid.ConclusionHand foot and mouth disease caused by EV71 progresses rapidly.The primary site of attack is the central nervous system,particularly the brainstem,and the cause of death are neurogenic pulmonary edema and/or hemorrhage,acute refractory cardiac dysfunction.
3.Establishment of HBV-Marker-Producing Nude Mice Model of Human Transplanted Liver Cancer

【Objective】To establish a HBV-marker-producing nude mice model of human transplanted liver cancer(HTLC).【Methods】2.2.15 cells,a HePG2 cell line transfected with HBV genome,were injected subcutaneously into athymic BALB/c-nu mice aged 4~6 weeks.The growth of tumor was observed every week.After 36 days the nude mice were executed and HBV markers of HBsAg,HBeAg,and HBV-DNA as well as alpha-fetoprotein(AFP)in serum were detected.The pathological features of tumor tissues were examined under light microscope.【Results】The incidence of HTLC and the time of HTLC appearing were correlated with the number of transplanted 2.2.15 cells.Serum HBsAg,HBeAg,and HBV-DNA were positive in the HTLC transplanted mice,the serum content of AFP was(350?11.5) ?g/L,and pathological changes under light microscope were similar to human,indicating that the model has some similar histological characteristics of the human liver cancer infected by HBV.【Conclusion】The nude mice model of human transplanted liver cancer,which can produce HBV markers,is established successfully in this study.
4.The prevalence and risk factors of depression in patients with diabetes foot ulcer

Objective To explore the prevalence of depression in diabetes foot ulcer patients , and to an-alyze the correlation between depression morbidity and various factors such as age , HbA1c level, and quality of life etc.Methods 73 diabetes foot ulcer patients admitted from Sep .2012 to Sep.2014 were enrolled.Depres-sion was assessed using the 9-item patient health questionnaire (PHQ-9).Data such as the age, sex, duration of diabetes and foot ulcer , HbA1C level, smoking were recorded .The severity of foot ulcer was evaluated by Wagner's classification.The quality of life was scored by short form(SF-36)health survey questionnaire.Results The morbidity of depression in diabetes foot ulcer patients was 49.3%in total and 17.8% in the moderate to severe depression group .The prevalence in patients with HbA 1c≥7.0%was significantly higher than that in pa-tients with HbA1c<7.0%(66% vs 35%,P<0.01).Higher occurance of HbA1c≥7.0% was found in the moderate to severe depression group compared to that in the mild depression group .The prevalence of depression was 39.1%in grade 1 in wagner classification , 48.6% in grade 2 to 3 in wagner classification and 69.2% in grade 4 to 5 in wagner classification , showing the two was positively correlated .When duration of foot ulcer lasted more than 6 months, the morbidity of depression(58.1%)was significantly increased(P<0.05).The quality of life was significantly declined in patients with depression by SF-36 questionnaire ( P<0.05 ) .No association was found between the depression morbidity and the age , duration of diabetes , amount of complications or smoking (P>0.05).Conclusions This study shows a high prevalence of depression symptom in diabetes foot ulcer pa -tients.Depression is associated with HbA1c level, the extent and duration of foot ulcer .

7.A method for improving acute cumulative death rates in animals by intravenous administration

AIM: To improve on the acute cumulative death rates method in animal by intravenous (iv) administration. METHODS: A mathematic model was established to simulate the pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic process by the program written by Visual Basic.net. This program evaluated the acute cumulative death rates (ACD method) for use of pharmacokinetics of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). RESULTS: The ACD method related on its first dosage, and an unsuitable dosage could lead to a wrong results. It also had been proved that, by adjusting the 2nd dosage it was a more suitable to wider range of dosage. CONCLUSION: By suitable 2nd dosage and enough animal number, ACD method can be used in the pharmacokinetics of TCM.
8.Inhibitions of daidzein on intima proliferation of rat common carotid artery injured by balloon

Objective To observe the effect of daidzein on intima proliferation of rat common carotid artery injured by balloon. Methods 24 male Wistar rats were randomly assigned to 3 groups, 8 rats per group: high dose daidzein group (100 mg/kg?d), low dose daidzein group (50 mg/kg?d) and dissolvent control group. Duplicate the rat common carotid arteries injured by balloon models. Five weeks after operation, serum biochemical indicator such as TC, TG, BUN, ALT and MDA were measured using routine biochemical methods. And pathological sections of common carotid arteries were observed and the changes of vascular histomorphology were estimated by computer analysis of photomicrograms. Results Compared with control group, the intima areas was significant decreased in high dose group and low dose group (86 893?83 452 ?m2 vs 199 419?103 352 ?m2 vs 222 324?56 154 ?m2,P0.05). Conclusion Daidzein can inhibit the intima proliferation of Wistar rat common carotid arteries injured by balloon.
9.A study on genetic polymorphism and rare alleles of 15 STR loci in 10071 individuals in Guangdong Han population

Objective To study the genetic polymorphism and frequencies of 15 STR loci in 10071 unrelated individuals of Han nationality, which are compared with the data reported previously. Methods 15 STR loci were amplified in DNA samples from 10071 unrelated individuals in Guangdong Han population using PowerPlex~(TM) 16 system, which were genotyped with ABI 377 or 3100 Genetic Analyzer. Frequencies for 15 STR loci were obtained. Results Except D8S1179 locus, rare alleles were found in the other 14 STR loci. The number of rare alleles ranged froml to 7 in the 14 STR loci ,which increased up to 34 rare alleles, including D21 S11 (32.1 and 36.2), D18S51 (15.2 and 17.2), Penta E (15.2, 17.4, 18.4, 19.4, 26 and 27), D7S820 (9.2, 10.1, 11.1 and 15), Penta D (18, 19 and 20), TPOX (14) and FGA (13) which were detected the first time and D21S11 (30.3), D7S820(9.1 and 9.2) which were frequently seen in the population although infrequent in European population. Conclusion More rare alleles can be detected with genetic polymorphism data from a lager number of individuals and more credible frequencies of alleles be obtained.
