Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2008;14(2):186-188
Objective To assess the value of Heidelberg retina tomograph-Ⅱ(HRT-Ⅱ)and optical coherence tomography(OCT)on making a diagnosis of macular edema in patients with background diabetic retinopathy. Methods Eighty eyes of 40 patients with background diabetic retinopathy were divided into the macular edema group and non-macular edema group according to examination of fluorescein fundus angiography(FFA).Macular thickness was measured by OCT and edema index was invested by HRT-Ⅱ.The results were analyzed by statistics test. Results The Kappa value of OCT examination on diagnosis for macular edema of background diabetic retinopathy was bigger than the HRT-Ⅱ.Making FFA as the diagnosis standard of macular edema,OCT examination showed P=0.0001,HRT-Ⅱ examination showed P=0.0856.Conclusion OCT and HRT-Ⅱ can be used to quantitate the macular edema of the diabetic retinopathy patients.OCT is better in the final diagnosis for macular edema than HRT-Ⅱ,and HRT-Ⅱ has higher misdiagnosis rate and lower missed diagnosis rate.HRT-Ⅱ can be used to screen macular edema patients with diabetic retinopathy.

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2008;14(11):1072-1074
Objective To measure the normal macular thickness of the healthy people with the optical coherence tomography (OCT), and analyse the difference among the left eye and right eye, male and female, and the different age. Methods The macular thickness of 80 healthy people were measured with OCT and analyzed statistically. Results and Conclusion The thickness of fovea was (173±13) μm, 95% reference value 148~198 μm. The thickness of region 1 mm arround fovea was (193±13) μm, 95% reference value 168~218 μm. There was no significant difference among left and right eye, male and female, and different age. The thickness of inner ring is thicker than that of outer ring. The thickness of nasal is thicker than that of the temporal side.

Chinese Journal of Postgraduates of Medicine 2009;32(32):20-22
Objective To explore the cause of acute urinary retention (AUR) ,the functional change of bladder detrusor. Methods The clinical data in 178 patients with AUR combined with urodynamic study were retrospectively analyzed. Results In male patients, the main cause of AUR was bladder oudet obstruction(BOO) ,the percent was 60.63%(77/127) ,in age more than 50 years old patients, while, in age less than 50 years old patients, the main cause was detrusor arcflexia (DUA), the percent was 72.55% (37/51), because of trauma of Iumbosacral vertebrae. In the female patients, the main cause of AUR was DUA. Between male and female patients with age more than 50 years old, there was significant difference in the cases of low compliance and DUA (P < 0.01) ,unstable bladder and BOO (P < 0.05). Conclusions The main cause of AUR in elderly male patients is BOO, which induces low eompliance and unstable bladder. While the main cause of AUR in female patients and young-middle age male is DUA .The function of detrusor changes differently with various causes.

Objective To explore the expression of TLR4 and MyD88 in chronic renal failure and its role in the development of chronic renal failure. Methods 40 cases of patients diagnosed chronic renal failure during 2011.07~2014.05 were select-ed as observation subjects, and renal tissues without invasion of 40 cases patients with renal carcinoma resection were chosen as control. The expression of TLR4 and MyD88 in chronic renal failure was detected by IMH.The mice model was stabled establish through gavage of adenine (200 mg/kg).And the TLR4 and MyD88 expression was detected by RT-PCR and Western blot. The models was divided into three groups:TLR4 blocking group,TLR4 non-blocking and control group. And the BUN and CRE were detected by biochemical analyzer in three groups. Results The expression of TLR4 and MyD88 were higher in chronic renal failure than in normals. The TLR4 and MyD88 were also higher in chronic renal failure model mice. The levels of BUN (15.65±3.97 mmol/L)in TLR4 blocking group were lower than which in TLR4 non-blocking group (23.33±7.62 mmol/L)and which in IgG group (26.33±6.77mmol/L)(t=2.887,P=0.045).The CRE levels were the lowest in TLR4-blocking group (523.89 ± 52.67μmol/L)compared with the TLR4 non-blocking group (789.51 ± 98.17μmol/L)and the IgG group (809.51±94.19μmol/L)(t=4.125,P=0.015).Conclusion The increased expression of TLR4 and MyD88 in chronic renal failure significantly would promote the development of chronic renal failure.

ObjectiveTo study the expression of AKT2 gene in liver cancer and its relationship to tumor progression.MethodsThe expression of AKT2 in liver cancer was detected by SP immunohistochemical stainin and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).Four patients with benign liver tumors were used as control.ResultsThe positive rates of AKT2 in liver cancer tissue and benign control tissue were 62.5% (28/32) and 0% (0/4),respectively.The difference was significant. In addition,a positive expression of AKT2 correlated significantly with poor differentiation, positive lymph node and distant metastasis. The median survival after surgery was significantly shorter in patients with positive than with negative AKT2 (76d vs 463d).ConclusionThe detection of AKT2 was useful in assessing the progression of liver cancer,in determining prognosis and eventually in rendering a possible target for novel therapeutic strategies.

Objective To evaluate the clinical significance of simultaneous transurethral resection (TUR) of a bladder tumor and the prostate in the treatment of non-muscle invasive bladder cancer with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).Methods Patients were divided into two groups.Group A contained 46 male patients who accepted TUR for the treatment of both bladder cancer and benign prostatic hyperplasia.Group B contained 69 male patients who accepted TURBt only.Clinical data were retrospectively collected and analyzed to compare clinical outcomes and safety in these two groups. Results The bladder cancer recurrence rates in group A and B were 50.0% and 50.7%,the average recurrence free time was 20 and 18 months, and the progression rates were 6.5% and 7.2%,respectively.There were no significant differences between the two groups for either average recurrence free time or progression rates (P > 0.05).Recurrences in the prostatic urethra were found in two cases in group A and one case in group B and all three cases were in T1 G3.Conclusions Simultaneous TUR for bladder tumor and the prostate can be safely and effectively performed in terms of oncologica] control in patients who have non-muscle invasive and low grade bladder tumors ( T1G1 - G2 ) with lower urinary tract obstruction caused by BPH.But this procedure should be cautiously performed on patients with T1 G3 bladder tumors.

Objective To study the effect of scan position consistency on computer tomography-magnetic resonance (CT-MR) images automatic registration in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Methods Fifteen patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma were enrolled in this study and scanned with the same position to acquire CT images and MR-1 images. Then they were reacanned with different position for MR-2 images. Image registration of CT-MR-1 and CT-MR-2 was finished using mutual information method. The registration errors were evaluated by measuring the distances between marks. Results The error of au-tomatic CT-MR registration with consistent scan position was 1.32 nun, comparing with the minimum of 2.00 ram and the maximum of 3.83 mm with different positions. Conclusion Keeping consistent scan position can improve the accuracy of image registration.
