1.Determination of Piperine in Mongolian Recipe of Haodaodun-10 by HPLC
Traditional Chinese Drug Research & Clinical Pharmacology 1993;0(04):-
Objective To establish a RP-HPLC method for quantitative determinat ion of the piperine in the Mongolian recipe of Haodaodun-10. Methods The determ ination was performed on Shim-pack VP-ODS(150 mm?4.6 mm,5 ?m)column and the mobile phase was a mixture of water and methanol (23 ∶77) with a flow rate of 0.8 mL/min at room temperature. The UV detection wavelength was 343 nm. Results The linear range of piperine was 0.5~5.0 ?g,r=0.999 8.The mean recovery was 9 8.1 %( RSD=1.76 %,n=5). Conclusion The method is simple, accurate and sensiti ve,and can be used for the quality control of Haodaodun-10.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the mRNA expression of monocarboxylate transporter 8 (MCT8), a thyroid hormone transport protein, in the lateral ventricle of rats with cerebral ischemia.
METHODSImmunofluorescence staining was used to observe the expression of MCT8 in the lateral ventricle of 5 normal SD rats. Another 20 adult male SD rats were randomized into 4 groups and subject to permanent ligation of both the common carotid arteries (2-vessel occlusion, 2VO) for 3 days, 2 weeks, or 5 weeks, or no ligation (control). At the end of the experiment, the transcriptional level of MCT8 in the brain tissue of the rats were detected using fluorescent quantitative PCR.
RESULTSMCT8 mRNA levels in 3-day and 2-week 2VO groups were comparable with that in the control group (P=0.909; P=0.694), but increased significantly in 5-week 2VO group compared with that in the control and 3-day 2VO groups (P=0.029; P=0.023). No significance was found in MCT8 mRNA between the 2-week and 5-week 2VO groups (P=0.065).
CONCLUSIONProlonged cerebral ischemia causes compensatory increase of MCT8 mRNA expression on the capillary endothelial cell membranes in the lateral ventricle of rats.

The continued aging of the population has led to a surge in long-term care needs for the elderly.Proactive preparation for future care(PFC)for the elderly can effectively meet the care needs caused by aging, improve their physical and mental health, and promote the elderly to maximize their physiological, psychological and social functions, finally realizing healthy aging. This paper reviews the theoretical basis, concept connotation, measurement tools, influencing factors and intervention strategies of PFC for the elderly, and puts forward the prospects for future research,so as to provide references for potential mechanism and empirical research of PFC for Chinese seniors.
