In order to study the treatment of the children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), the integrated visual and auditory continuous performance test (IVA-CPT) was clinically applied to evaluate the effectiveness of electroencephalogram (EEG) biofeedback training. Of all the 60 children with ADHD aged more than 6 years, the effective rate of EEG biofeedback training was 91.6% after 40 sessions of EEG biofeedback training. Before and after treatment by EEG biofeedback training, the overall indexes of IVA were significantly improved among predominately inattentive, hyperactive, and combined subtype of children with ADHD (P<0.001). It was suggested that EEG biofeedback training was an effective and vital treatment on children with ADHD.

Objective To investigate the proliferation and apoptosis in stage-ⅠNSCLC and their prognostic implications.Methods Immunohistochemical technology and TUNEL assay was applied to detect proliferation and apoptosis in 118 lung cancer tissues and 30 normal lung tissues as controls.Results Proliferation Index(PI)was up-regulated in lung cancer tissues compared with that in normal lung tissues and was closely related to T-staging,differentiation and smoking.Apoptotic Index(AI)was up-regulated in lung cancer tissues compared with that in normal lung tissues and was closely related to T-staging.PI was not related to AI in stage-ⅠNSCLC.The patients with high PI had a shorter 5-year survival than those with low PI(33.57% and 73.12%,P=0.0001),and the patients with low AI had a shorter 5-year survival than those with high AI(41.48% and 68.80%,P=0.008).Multivariate analysis showed that PI was a significantly independently predictive factor for patients with stage-ⅠNSCLC(RR=2.473,95%CI:1.278~4.784,P=0.007).Conclusion Stage-ⅠNSCLC is a subgroup with high proliferation and apoptosis.Proliferation plays a more important role in stage-ⅠNSCLC.The assessment of proliferation and apoptosis may provide new insight into prognosis and adjuvant treatment for stage-Ⅰ NSCLC.

ObjectiveTo investigate the effects of grape seed proanthocyanidin extracts (GSPE) on advanced glycation end product receptor (RAGE),NF-Κb and connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) in the myoeardium of diabetic rats.MethodsTotal 30 streptozotocin (STZ) induced diabetic rats were randomly divided into 2 groups:diabetic group (DM1,n-15) and GSPE (250 mg/ kg,i.g) treated diabetic group (DM2,n= 15).Another two control groups:normal rats(C1,n= 10)and normal rats treated with GSPE (250 mg/kg,i.g) (C2 group,n= 10) were also observed.After 24 weeks,blood was collected to measure fasting plasma glucose (FBG) and RAGE.The protein expression of NF-Κb was determined in myocardial tissue by immunohistochemical staining and Western blot.The protein expressions of RAGE and CTGF were measured by Western blot.Results The levels of FBG and RAGE were significantly higher in diabetic rats than in control rats (P＜0.05).After GSPE treatment,RAGE level significantly reduced (P＜0.05),but FBG had no change in diabetic rats.The protein expressions of RAGE,NF-Κb and CTGF in the myocardial tissue of diabetic rats had marked increase compared with control rats (P＜ 0.05),however,their levels significantly reduced after GSPE treatment (P＜0.05).ConclusionsGSPE may protect diabetic rats against cardiomyopathy,possibly by decreasing the protein expressions of RAGE,NF-Κb and CTGF.

Objective To investigate the changes of PPARr mRNA and protein expressions in rats with ANP. Methods 36 rats were randomly divided into sham group and ANP group. The rats were sacrificed 3 h, 6 h,12 h after ANP induction, the levels of serum amylase were measured, the pancreatic pathological changes were determined and the expressions of pancreatic PPARr mRNA and protein was examined by RT- PCR and immunohistochemistry. Results In ANP group, the level of serum amylase at 6h was (7170.83± 1635.59) U/L, the scores of pathological changes were 6.67±1.03 and 13.00±2.36, which were much higher than those of sham group (P<0.01) ; the PPARr mRNA expression was 0.18±0.05, and there were no obvious differences compared with that of sham group (0.22±0.03 ) ; PPARr protein expression was 4.17 ±0.98, which was significantly higher than that of sham group (1.83±0.71, P<0.05). Conclusions Inflammatory injury resulted in increased deactivation of pancreatic acinar PPARr, meanwhile PPARr gene expression was inhibited by feedback.

Objective To investigate the effects of Xiao Yao San on intracellular Ca2 + concentration in cultured rat hippocampal neurons in the state of chronic stress and study the mechanism of chronic stress injuring and XiaoYao San protecting. Methods MK-801 acts as tool,cultured rat hippocampal neurons were divided into seven groups, those were group 1 (control), group 2 (normal serum), group 3 (normal serum + Glu), group 4 (model serum + Glu), group 5 (model serum + Glu + MK-801), group 6 (Xiaoyaosan + Glu), group 7 (Xiaoyaosan + Glu + MK-801). to detect intracellular Ca2+ concentration in cultured hippocampal neurons in the simulated micro - environment of chronic stress and after intervention with the serum treated with Xiao Yao San by confocal laser microscope at the same period of time. Results Compared with group 1 (779.97 ± 36.81), concentration of Ca2+ intracellular of group 2 (1092.38 ± 36.41), group 3 (1472.49 ± 76. 19), group 4 (1509.52 ±104.69) and group 5 (1186.97 ±41.92) all increased significantly (P＜0.01) ,group 6 (908.74 ±40.24) increased too (P ＜ 0.05), compared with group 2, concentration of Ca2 + intracellular of group 3,4 and 5 all increased significantly (P ＜ 0.01), but group 7 (721.99 ± 60.33) decreased significantly (P ＜ 0.01). Compared with group 4, concentration of Ca2+ intracellular of group 6 and 7 decreased significantly (P＜ 0.01), group 5 decreased too (P ＜ 0.05), compared with group 6, concentration of Ca2 + intracellular of group 5 increased significantly (P ＜ 0.01),when group 7 decreased significantly (P＜0.01). Conclusion Serum of chronic stress treated with Xiao Yao San has the effect of inhibiting Ca2+ overload in hippocampal neurons,it may work through a variety of signaling pathways including Glu-NR-Ca2+ to maintain the steady-state of Ca2+ concentration in hippocampal neurons, and then to protect neurons from the neurotoxic effects of excitatory.

[Objective] To observe the influence of Xiaoyao Powder on the concentration of Ca2+ in hippocampal synaptosome of multi - stress model rats.[Methods] Wistar rats were randomly allocated to five groups: normal control (Group A) , model 1 (Group B), Xiaoyao Powder 1 (Group C), model 2 (Group D), and Xiaoyao Powder 2 (Group E) . All the rats except those of Group A were replicated to chronic multi-stress models. Objective To provide a fixtures and feasible injection method for rat tail vein injection.Methods SD rats were randomly divided into A group and B group,thirty rats in each group.Rats in group A fixed by a simple and practical experimental rats fixtures.And rats in group B fixed by common plastic drink bottles.Then the tail vein injection experiment was conducted respectively.Results It took one people 31.2 seconds in group A and 33.1 seconds in group B to finish the experiment from capture to fix rats,and took one people 68.4 seconds in group A to finish the experiment from capture to finish the injection,while it couldn't finish in group B.It took two people 25.4 seconds in group A and 25.8 seconds in group B to finish the experiment from capture to fix rats,and took 63.7 seconds in group A and 85.6 seconds in group B to finish the experiment from capture to finish the injection.Conclusion The experimental rats fixtures can increase the success rate of rats tail vein injection,and shorten the injection time.It is a safe and effective method.

Aim To investigate the preventive effect of Guizhi decoction on cardiac sympathetic sprouting induced by 4-Methylcatechol (4-MC) . Methods The rat models of cardiac sympathetic sprouting were in-duced by 10 mg · L-1 4-MC ( 10μg · kg-1 body weight, i. p. ) . Guizhi decoctions ( with different pro-portion between Ramulus Cinnamomi and Radix Paeon-iae Alba, 1 : 1, 1 : 2 and 2 : 1) and metoprolol were administered to the rats. Heart rate and electrocardio-gram ( ECG ) were observed, the content of norepi-nephrine (NE), growth associated protein (GAP-43), tyrosine hydroxylase ( TH ) and acetylcholine transfer-ase enzyme ( CHAT) in myocardial homogenate of left ventricular and right atrial were determined by ELISA method, and immunofluorescence assay was used to observe cardiac nerve sprouting and sympathetic distri-bution. Results 4-MC caused cardiac sympathetic sprouting and parasympathetic was not influenced. Heart rate of the model group was improved significant-ly and higher than that of the other groups . Compared with the model group, the content of NE, GAP-43 and TH in left ventricle and right atrium of the metoprolol group and Guizhi decoction group were decreased( P<0.05 ) , and the immunofluorescence result showed that the distribution of TH positive nerve was reduced sig-nificantly(P<0.05). It was demonstrated that Guizhi decoction of the proportion between Ramulus Cinnamo-mi and Radix Paeoniae Alba 1 : 1 and 1 : 2 had the best efficacy, which was similar to the efficacy of meto-prolol. Conclusion Guizhi decoction ( with the pro-portion between Ramulus Cinnamomi and Radix Paeon-iae Alba 1 : 1 and 1 : 2 ) effectively inhibits the cardi-ac sympathetic sprouting induced by 4-MC.
