Objective To evaluate the effect of chronic anemia on duration of non-hypoxic apnea during tracheal intubation after induction of general anesthesia in female patients. Methods Seventy-five ASA physical status Ⅰ or Ⅱ patients, aged 20-40 yr,of Mallampati class Ⅰ or Ⅱ,with body mass index < 25 kg/m2,were enrolled in the study.According to the test results of hemoglobin (Hb),the patients were allocated into 3 groups (n =25 each):Hb > 110 g/L group (group A),Hb 90-110 g/L group (group B),and 70 g/L < Hb < 90 g/L group (group C).Each patient inhaled 100% oxygen through a mask with oxygen flow of 8 L/min and 3 min later anesthesia was induced with general anesthesia.Assisted ventilation was not performed during induction. After tracheal intubation, artificial ventilation was performed with pure oxygen when SpO2 decreased to 90%.The time from beginning of apnea to SpO2 of 90% (duration of non-hypoxic apnea),and the minimum SpO2 and the maximum PET CO2 during the period of observation were recorded.Immediately before oxygen inhalation via a mask, immediately after beginning of apnea, and at the time for SpO2 decreasing to 90%,arterial blood samples were taken from 10 patients randomly chosen from each group for blood gas analysis. Results Compared with group A,the duration of non-hypoxic apnea was significantly shortened, and no significant change was found in the minimum SpO2 in B and C groups, and the maximum PET CO2 and PaCO2 while SpO2 decreasing to 90% were decreased in group C.Compared with group B,the duration of non-hypoxic apnea was signifi.cantly shortened,PaCO2 while SpO2 decreasing to 90% was decreased, and no significant change was found in the minimum SpO2 and the maximum PET CO2 in group C.Conclusion Mild and moderate chronic anemia shortens the duration of non-hypoxic apnoea to about 6.0 and 3.5 min, respectively, during tracheal intubation after induction of general anesthesia in female patients.

BACKGROUND:After years of development, various in vitro loading devices for vascular tension stress have been created both at home and abroad, mainly including rectangular base stretching method, circular base deformation method and four-point bending beam load method. Although the circular base deformation method can wel reflect the real situations in vivo such as the expansion of the alveoli and vascular pulsation, the strain on the membrane is actinomorphic. The four-point bending beam load method can just bring limited strain range and load time, along with a difficult strain regulation.
OBJECTIVE: To develop anin vitro loading device for vascular tension stress using the rectangular base stretching method.
METHODS:Thisin vitro loading device for vascular tension stress developed according to mechatronics design consisted of power supply module, control module, drive module and data acquisition module. The device could achieve the tensile control on silicon diaphragm by high-precision control of the motor rotation angle and rotational speed.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Through tests and experiments, the device could meet the required range of parameters and simulatein vitro human tensile stress environment, which is preliminarily considered to develop successfuly, achieving that: (1) two work patterns: stress mode and strain mode so as to solve the standardization of silicone substrate as loading device; (2) tensile stress can be adjusted in a range of 0-5×105 Pa; (3) tensile strain can be adjusted in 0-40% range; (4) stretching frequency can be in the regulation of 0-80 times/min and the stretching time can be controled.

Objective To study the effect of astragalus polysaccharides combined with hUSCs transplantation on type 2 diabetic rats. Methods Twenty-five SD rats were randomly selected into the normal control group, and the remaining 105 SD rats were used to establish type 2 diabetes model. The 100 rats successfully modeled were randomly divided into the diabetes group, astragalus polysaccharide treatment group, hUSCs treatment group, and astragalus polysaccharide+hUSCs treatment group, with 25 rats in each group. After 2 weeks of treatment, the FBG concentration, insulin and C-peptide concentrations, and body weight changes were measured in each group. The distribution and survival of PKH-26-labeled hUSCs in rat pancreatic tissue were observed by fluorescence microscopy. TUNEL method was used to detect the apoptosis of rat islet cells. Real-time quantitative PCR and Western Blot were used to detect the expression of TGF-β/Smad signaling pathway-related genes in rat pancreatic tissue. Results The FBG concentration of rats in the astragalus polysaccharide treatment group, hUSCs treatment group and astragalus polysaccharide +hUSCs treatment group were significantly decreased, and that in the combination treatment group was significantly lower those in the astragalus polysaccharide group and hUSCs group, and the differences were statistically significant ( all P<0 . 05 ) . Compared with the diabetic group , the insulin concentration, C-peptide concentration and body weight in the astragalus polysaccharide treatment group, hUSCs treatment group and combination treatment group rats were significantly increased, and those in the combination treatment group was significantly higher than those in the astragalus polysaccharide treatment group and in the hUSCs treatment group, the differences were statistically significant( all P<0.05). The results of fluorescence microscopy showed that the number of PKH-26 positive hUSCs in the combined treatment group was 74.64 ±9.75 in each high power field, which was significantly higher than that in the hUSCs treatment group (43.64±5.83), the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Compared with the diabetic group, the apoptotic rates of islet cells in the astragalus polysaccharide treatment group and the hUSCs treatment group were reduced, and the relative expressions levels of mRNA and protein of TGF-β1, Smad3, and Smad7 in the pancreatic tissue were also significantly reduced(all P<0.05). The reduction was more significant in the combination treatment group, and the differences were statistically significant (all P<0.05). Conclusions Astragalus polysaccharide combined with hUSCs transplantation can effectively reduce the FBG concentration, increase the concentration of insulin, C-peptide and body weight, reduce the apoptosis of pancreatic islet tissue, which may be related to the reduction of TGF-β/Smad in pancreatic tissue. Signaling pathways are involved in suppressing the inflammatory response.

Objective To explore nursing care of the ex-utero intrapartum treatment (EXIT) in fetal neck mass oppressing airway. Methods A case of EXIT in which a fetal neck mass was diagnosed on ultrasound was fully prepared supplies and carried out. Nursing care was well implemented and vital signs of the puerpera and fetus were observed in preoperative and intraoperative surgery. Results The EXIT procedure was successful performed and vital signs of the puerpera and fetus were steadied. The score of Apgar was seven to eight. Conclusions Adequate equipment, multi-department collaboration, preoperative exercise and close cooperation are the important guarantee for the success of ex-utero intrapartum treatment.

Objective To analyze the clinical and electrophysiological features of one geneology with limbgirdle muscular dystrophy(LGMD). Methods Twenty-seven members of one family with limb-girdle muscular dystrophy(LGMD)were investigated.Fourteen of them were examined with electromyography(EMG)and their motor conduction velocities(MCV)and sensory conduction velocities(SCV)were measured.Among them,10 had no clinical manifestations, while 4 demonstrated symptoms and signs of LGMD. Results Three of the 4 patients had suffered from LGMD when young. They demonstrated the typical clinical features, including the progressive muscle weakness in the upper and lower extremities, positive Gower signs, duck gait, muscle atrophy distributed tO the proximal extremity, and no gastrocnemius hypertrophy. One subject presented atypical characteristics. The MCVs and SCVs of the 4 patients were normal, but neuropathic manifestations were found in the EMGS of 3 of them.and mixed neuropathic and myopathic manifestations were found in the EMG of the other. Conclusion LGMD patients in the same family can vary in their clinical characteristics. The longer the duration, the more severe the clinical features.Electrophysiological examination can reveal normal MCV and SCV but abnormal elctromyography.
