Objective To research the visualization of congenital heart disease by three-dimensional echocardiographic(3DE) virtual endoscopy(VE) system. Methods Datasets.from 10 healthy children and 22 patients with congenital heart disease were collected (10 patients with atrial septal defects, 6 patients with ventricular septal defects and 6 patients with tetralogy of Fallot). 3DE heart models were reconstructed by virtual reality computing techniques and visualization in scientific computing techniques. The VE system was programmed under the C++ 6.0 language condition, the visualization toolkit (VTK) platform was employed to carry out the graphics and visualization utilities. The virtual eye can move along the navigation paths in the heart by manual camera movements. Results The VE can provide special information in aspects of intracardiac anatomy, The visible heart models show precisely complex anatomy structure and spatial relationships. 3DE intracardiac endoscopic imaging can thus be visualized and navigated successfully by the VE system. Conclusions 3DE VE is a new system for the visualization of congenital heart disease.

This paper is to report the development of a high-throughput in vitro system to screen hPXR/CAR mediated CYP2B6 drug inducers, and the application of it into the quick determination of induction activity toward CYP2B6 by various commonly used traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs) extract. Dual reporter gene assays were performed. The hPXR/CAR expression vectors and the reporter vector pGL3-CYP2B6-Luc involved in the distal and proximal promoters of CYP2B6 were co-transfected into HepG2 cells. Relative luciferase activities in cell lysate were analyzed after 48 h treatment of blank vehicle or drugs to determine the induction activity toward CYP2B6 by various commonly used TCMs extract. The positive hPXR/hCAR activators rifampicin and CITCO were applied to make sure that the reporter gene model was successfully established. Then 5 kinds of commonly used TCM extracts and 1 herbal compound were successfully investigated, some were found to activate hPXR or hCAR and therefore have the potential to induce CYP2B6 enzyme. This is the first domestic article to report the hCAR3-mediated CYP2B6 induction model and the establishment of a reporter gene system for hPXR/CAR-mediated CYP2B6 induction can be an effective and systemic in vitro method to investigate the drug inducers of CYP2B6 and to explain the mechanism involved.

OBJECTIVE To estimate the distribution of pathogens of nosocomial infection in intensive care units, the sites where infections often taken place and the related antibiotic-resistance of bacteria.METHODS Various samples of bacteria from intensive care units have been examined by applying half-automatic analyzer ATB Expression, with bacteria inspecting cards and drug-sensitivity cards, all from Bio-Merieux,France.RESULTS Totally 153 strains of nosocomial pathogens have been found, where Acinebacter baumannii, fungi and Pseudomonas aeruginosa ranked top three, with rates of 32.0%,16.3%,and 15.0%,respectively.About 45.8% of pathogens were found in samples from the lower respiratory tract.Approximately 4.3% of A.baumannii showed drug-resistance to imipenem. However, more than 50.0% of A.baumannii presented its strong drug-resistance to rest of eight regular antibiotics.CONCLUSIONS A.baumannii is a dominating pathogen to cause nosocomial infection in intensive care units, and has shown strong multi-drug-resistance,which should incur high clinical attention. It comes to be crucial to highlight sanitization and sterilization operation, applying proper antibiotics in order to reduce appearance of bacteria with drug-resistance.

This paper proposed a rehabilitation training system with electromyography (sEMG) feedback for stroke patients based on ARM embedded system and LabVIEW. The system can achieve real-time acquisition, processing and dualview of multi-channel sEMGs and compute related sEMG parameters including iEMG, RMS, MPF and co-contraction ratio. The system was detected by clinical experiments and related inspection department. The result showed that the system is functional, interactive and in accordance with the relevant standards for medical devices so that it can fully satisfy the clinical demands. In addition, the system can help doctors to master the training state of the patient more effectively in a real-time and quantitative way that is direct to improve the training programs of stroke patients.

The protein binding of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs flurbiprofen, ketoprofen and etodolac with human serum albumin (HSA) was investigated using indirect chiral high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and ultrafiltration techniques.S-(-)-2-(1-naphthyl)-ethylamine (S-NEA) was utilized as chiral derivatization reagent and pre-column derivatization RP-HPLC method was established for the separation and assay of the three pairs of enantiomer. The method had good linear relationship over the investigated concentration range without interference. The average extraction efficiency was higher than 85% in different systems, and the intra-day and inter-day precisions were less than 15%.In serum albumin, the protein binding of etodolac enantiomers showed significant stereoselectivity that the affinity of S-enantiomer was stronger than R-enantiomer,and the stereoselectivity ratio reached 6.06; Flurbiprofen had only weak stereoselectivity in HSA,and ketoprofen had no stereoselectivity at all.Scatchard curves showed that all the three chiral drugs had two types of binding sites in HSA.
