1.Chaishao chengqi decoction and mirabilite in the treatment of severe acute pancreatitis

Objective To investigate the effect of chaishao chengqi decoction and mirabilite synthesis treatment for patients of severe acute panereatitis (SAP). Methods 62 cases of SAP were randomly divided into treatment group (n = 32) and control group (n = 30). Conventional treatment was administrated to control group, while chaishao chengqi decoction and mirabilite were added to treatment group. The duration of abdominal pain, the time of the first bowel, days of gastrointestinal decompression, average days of hospitalization, hyperamylasemia, complication and mortality was compared. Results The duration of abdominal pain, the time of the first bowel, days of gastrointestinal decompression, average days of hospitalization and complication rate were (5.8 ± 2.5) d, (1.84 ± 0. 67) d, (8.2 ± 2.2) d, (21.2 ± 12.5) d and 15.6% in treatment group,respectively, which were lower than those in the control group (P <0.05). Duration of hyperamylasemia (10.2 ± 3.2d) and mortality rate (3.12%) in treatment group was lower than those in the control group without statistic difference (P > 0. 05). Coucluslons Based on conventional therapy, chaishao chengqi Decoction and mirabilite could improve gastrointestinal function of SAP, shorten course of disease, reduce the occurrence of complication and improve the prognosis.
2.Effect of placenta polypeptide injection on the fracture healing time and the incidence of infection in patients with limb fractures

Objective To explore the impact of placenta polypeptide injection on fracture healing time and the incidence of infec-tion in patients with limb fractures .Methods 138 cases with limb fractures admitted to our hospital from February 2010 to Febru-ary 2012 were randomly divided into two groups ,and each group had 69 patients .The control group was given conventional treat-ment while the observation group was given placenta polypeptide injection on the basis of the conventional treatment .The bone healing time and infection rates were observed .Results The limbs fracture healing time of observation group was significantly shorter than that of control group (P<0 .05) .The infection rate of observation group (1 .45% ) was significantly lower than that of control group (10 .14% ,P<0 .05) .Conclusion The placenta polypeptide injection for treatment of limb fractures can effectively decrease fracture healing time ,and significantly reduce the rate of infection .
3.Analysis of Exposure-Response Relationships of Air Particulate Matter and Adverse Health Outcomes in China

Objective To analyze the epidemiological data on air particulate matter and adverse health outcomes in China, and to estimate the exposure_response relationships. Methods An electronic search of relevant literature was conducted to determine the exposure_response relationship for each health outcome associated with exposure to air particulate matter, and the approach of Meta_analysis was used when there were several studies describing the same health endpoint. Results For each health outcome from morbidity to mortality changes, the relative risks were estimated when the concentration of air particulate matter increased some certain units. Conclusion The exposure_response relationships described here might be further applied to health risk assessment of air particulate matter in China.
4.Clinical application evaluation of double helical CT and MRI in the diagnosis of knee bone tumor

Objective:To explore and assess the clinical application and clinical value of dual helical CT and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the diagnosis of knee bone tumor. Methods: Sixty-nine patients with knee bone tumors were randomly divided into three groups: group A, group B and group C. Group A was detected by double-helical CT scanning; group B was detected by MRI; group C was detected by dual-helical CT scan combined with MRI. After the end of the testing, the clinical diagnostic results of the three detection methods were compared.Results: There was no significant difference between group A and B (x2=0.825,P>0.05). The detection rate of group C was higher than that of group A. The differences were statistically significant (x2=2.936,x2=3.718;P<0.05). The detection rate of group C was significantly higher than that of group B. The differences were statistically significant (x2=3.967,x2=4.285;P<0.05).Conclusion: Double helical CT combined with MRI can effectively improve the clinical detection rate of knee bone tumor.

6.The Long-term Efficacious Observation of Bronchial Artery Embolization for Massive Hemoptysis of Pulmonary Tuberculosis

Objective To evaluate the long-term curative effect of bronchial artery embolization on massive hemoptysis in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. Methods Bronchial arterial embolization with PVA grain and silk segment was performed in 42 cases of patients with hemoptysis of secondary pulmonary tuberculosis. Of them, 27 cases were bilateral pulmonary tuberculosis and 15 lateralized. The bloody bronchial arteries were confirmed by bronchial arteriography, and the PVA grains or silk segments were injected slowly into the target vessels until hemorrhage stopped. Results After one time embolization, hemoptysis stopped immediately in 34 cases, 7 cases still had little hemoptysis,and one case of hemorrhage was unable to be controlled. The short-term efficacious rate was 97.6%,and no severe complications occurred. Followed up 6 months to 7 years after treatment,24 cases were clinical cure,7 cases obviously effective,5 cases effective,and 6 cases recurrent.The long-term effective rate is 85.7%. Conclusion Embolization of bronchial artery with PVA grain and silk segment was a safe and effective method for controlling hemoptysis of pulmonary tuberculosis, and its combination with anti-tuberculosis treatment could consolidate the curative effect.
7.Methodological Research on the Health-based Risk Assessment on Air Pollution

Objective To get comprehensive and quantitative evaluation of the impact of ambient air pollution on human health. Methods The approach recommended in this paper is a quantitative estimate on the health impact from exposure to air pollutants based on the internationally accepted quantitative risk assessment framework and the per unit increase in mortality or morbidity due to per unit increase of air pollutants levels. Results A schematic diagram of health-based risk assessment on air pollutants is presented. Calculation for excess deaths and excess disease cases is also provided. Conclusion This approach could be used for comparing the health effects associated with exposure to air pollutants of various Chinese cities in different time periods and is also useful in the priority setting of air pollution intervention and improvement measures and health-based cost benefit analysis.
8.An experimental study on distribution of musk into the brain through blood brain barrier

OBJECTIVE: To study the possible pathway of the effect of musk on brain disorder, distributing into the brain through blood brain barrier. METHODS: We used the musk ketone (muscone), a main composition of musk, to inject through the tail vein of the rats into the blood and took the brain and other organs at different times to make samples. Then gas chromatography was used to measure the distribution of muscone in the brain and other organs. RESULTS: Muscone could pass through the normal rat's blood brain barrier into the brain and soon reached the highest peak and remained in higher concentration, and more slowly metabolized as compared with other organs. CONCLUSION: Musk distributing into the brain through blood brain barrier provides the basis for its effect in treating brain disorders. Chromatography is an effective method to study the active composition of Chinese herbal medicine distributing through the blood brain barrier into the brain.
9.Correlation between HLA gene and Takayasu arteritis in the Chinese

Objective To determine the correlation between HLA gene and Takayasu arteritis(TA) in the Chinese. Methods Forty four TA patients and 135 healthy controls were examined for HLA DQA 1 and HLA DQB 1 locus alleles by PCR/SSOP typing and mass genetics techniques. Results The frequency of DQA 1 0301 allele(14.8%) in TA patients was significantly decreased compared with the controls( 30.7% )(P0.05). Conclusions In Chinese, people with HLAⅡ DQB 1 0601 gene may be susceptible to TA, while people with HLAⅡ DQA 1 0301 gene may be resistant to TA.
10.Effects of Tianli Decoction on Oxidative Stress in the Kidney of Diabetic Rat

Objective To investigate oxidative stress in the kidney of diabetic rat in order to tobserve the effect of Tianli Decoction(TLT) on diabetic nephropathy. Methods The rats were devided into five groups:TLD-High dose group,TLD-Low dose group,Captopril(Cap) + HB419 group,pathologic control group,normal control group. Alloxan was used to induce the diabetic model of rats. After 8 weeks,blood glucose,blood lipid,urinary protein and the ratio of kidney weight to body weight in the rats of five groups were measured. The content of MDA and the renalintrinsic anti-oxidatantenzyme activities such as SOD and GSH-Px were evaluated. Results Comparing with normal group,the level of blood glucose,blood lipid,urinary protein and the ratio of kidney weight to body weight in diabetic group were significantly increased. The content of MDA in renalortex was increased,whereas the activities of anti-oxidatantenzyme were decreased. Conclusion Oxidativestress existed in the kidney of diabeticrats. The deficiency of intrinsic anti-oxidatantenzyme may contribute to the development of diabetic nephropathy. TLT can revers the obove changes.
