Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2007;0(33):-
AIM: To analyze and screen humoral bioactive factors associated with accelerated fracture healing after traumatic brain injury. METHODS: A computer-based online search of Chinese Journal Full-text Database and Pubmed database was undertaken to identify related articles. After the first trial, only articles about the effect of humor changes after brain trauma or humoral factors on fracture healing were selected, and those published in recent five years and published in a authoritative journal were preferred. Repetitive research was excluded. RESULTS: Fracture healing can be accelerated, especially for people with traumatic brain injury. Brain injury, spinal cord injury, different parts of the spinal cord injury, and nerve injury have different influences on fracture healing. There are cell active factors in humour of patients after traumatic brain injury, which can induce karyogenetic division and proliferation of bone marrow-derived stroma cells. Bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) is a very important factor in fracture healing, but it seems not one of factors that are associated with accelerated healing mechanism. Transforming growth factor-? (TGF-?) is correlated with brain injury and bone healing. It is likely to be one of cell factors that can promote fracture healing. Basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) has an early expression in traumatic brain injury patients, which can promote osteoblast by stimulating vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and TGF-? expressions. VEGF is only a member of various factors in the network in fracture healing. The action mechanism of single factor needs further exploration. Growth hormone has a high concentration in patients with traumatic brain injury, and can promote fracture healing through interaction with insulin-like growth factor. However, the mechanism is still uncertain. Nerve growth factor, prolactin and melantonin concentration significantly change after traumatic brain injury. They may be the humoral factors that influence bone healing, but the mechanism has not yet been identified. CONCLUSION: Accelerated fracture healing associated with traumatic brain injury is influenced by systemic and local bioactive factors. Currently, the researches about the association of some humoral factors such as BMP, TGF-? and bFGF with fracture healing have been conducted, but others need to further study.

Objective:To test the role of tumor necrosis factor-?(TNF-?)in acute lung injury and study new treatment.Method:The rabbit acid aspiration models were induced with 0.1N hydrochloric acid (HCI). Twenty rabbits were divided randomly into HCl group, verapamil and vitamin C groups. The plasma levels of TNF-? and malondialdehyde (MDA) were measured, and polymorphonuclear neutrophils (PMN)were counted in lung tissue of all animals. Result:There were increases in TNF-?,MDA and PMN after acid aspiration, which can be inhibited by verapamil and vitamin C. Conclusion:PMN can be induced by TNF-?.Vitamin C and verapamil provide a obvious protection on pulmonary tissue after acid aspiration.

Objective:To study the protective effect of telmisartan on rats with renal failure and its mechanism. Methods:60 Wistar rats were chosen as study objective, and were divided into 4 groups randomly:15 in group A (sham operation group), 15 in group B (model group), 15 in group C (telmisartan group) and 15 in group D (telmisartan+GW9962 group). The difference of survival rate, blood-urine biochemical indexes, renal pathological change, and the expression level of PPARγ and nNOS were compared. Results:After 12 weeks, the survival rate of group A was 93.33%(14/15), that of group B was 46.67%(7/15), that of group C was 86.67%(13/15), that of group D was 60.00%(9/15), and the difference among 4 groups had statistical significance (P<0.05). After 1 week, the difference of Scr, that of BUN and that of 24h protein urine among 4 groups was not statistical significant (P>0.05);after 3 weeks, 6 weeks and 12 weeks, these difference was statistical significant (P<0.05). The difference of blood-urine biochemical indexes, that of renal pathological change, and that of the expression level of PPAR毭and nNOS was statistical significant (P<0.05). Conclusions:Telmisartan has protective effect on renal failure caused by 5/6 nephrectomy, which might be relative to the expression level of PPARγ and nNOS.

Chinese Journal of Anesthesiology 1997;0(11):-
Objective: To study protective effect of taurine on gut barrier after hemorrhagic shock-reperfusion. Method: Twenty-four white rabbits were divided randomly into 3 groups: taurine group (A),shock group (B), control group (C). Result: Malondialdehyde and Ca~(2+) contents of intestinal mucosa remained unchanged in group A, but increased significantly in group B, Incidence of bacterial translocation in B group was markedly higher than that in C group at 30 min following reperfusion. Under light and electronic microscope,in comparsion with A and C groups, intestinl mucosa damage in B group became more severe. Conclusion: Taurine can protect gut barrier from intestinal ischemia reperfusion injury induced by hemorrhagic shock through reducing oxide free radical and preventing calcium overload.
