Objective:
To investigate the use of new types of drugs among HIV/AIDS patients in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, so as to provide insights into surveillance and interventions for use of new types of drugs among HIV/AIDS patients.
Methods:
The HIV/AIDS patients in Ningbo City were randomly sampled from the HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Information System of Chinese Disease Prevention and Control Information System. Patients' demographics, use of new types of drugs and sexual behaviors were collected using questionnaire surveys. Patients' hair samples were collected, and new types of drugs were determined in hair using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS). In addition, factors affecting the use of new types of drugs were identified using a multivariable logistic regression model.
Results:
A total of 254 HIV/AIDS patients were enrolled, including 214 men (84.25%), 31 cases aged under 25 years (12.20%), 66 cases aged 25 to 30 years (25.98%), and 157 cases aged 31 to 75 years (61.81%). There were 30 cases reported previous use of new drugs (11.81%), including 27 cases reported previous use of methamphetamine (90.00%). There were 48 cases tested positive of new types of drugs, with a positive rate of 18.90%, including 44 cases tested positive for methamphetamine (91.67%). Multivariable logistic regression analysis identified age (25 to 30 years, OR=6.926, 95%CI: 1.412-33.969), occupation (students/teachers/cadres/employees/retirees, OR=6.971, 95%CI: 2.123-22.889; housekeeping and housework servants/unemployed, OR=3.356, 95%CI: 1.289-8.739; business/public place servants, OR=2.447, 95%CI: 1.033-4.448) and syphilis infection during recent six months (OR=3.491, 95%CI: 1.664-7.326) as factors affecting the use of new types drugs among HIV/AIDS patients.
Conclusions
The use of new types of drugs exists in HIV/AIDS patients in Ningbo City. Age, occupation and syphilis infection were associated with the use of new types of drugs among HIV/AIDS patients.

Objective:
Based on a qualitative research method, the present study aims to explore the negative experiences and real dilemmas of adolescent with depression in the treatment and rehabilitation process, so as to provide references to promote the improvement of the treatment system for adolescent depression in China.
Methods:
From August 2022 to November 2022, 30 adolescents with depression were selected for in-depth interviews in the inpatient department of child and adolescent psychiatry at Beijing An Ding Hospital affiliated with Capital Medical University by using the purposive sampling method, and the interview data were analyzed by using the Colaizzi method to summarize the themes.
Results:
The real dilemmas faced by depressed adolescent during treatment and recovery included three aspects:inappropriate family coping (caregivers lacking of correct disease cognition; caregivers lacking of effective coping methods), difficulties in disease diagnosis and treatment (low rate of identification and adverse effect of treatment; medical service failing to satisfy the demands), and barriers to continued schooling (barriers to academic progress and interpersonal communication).
Conclusion
Adolescents with depression face real dilemmas in the process of disease treatment and rehabilitation at home, school and medical care. Caregivers disease literacy and caregiving skills should be improved. A collaborative disease management system among family, school, community and medical institutions should be established to promote adolescent depression treatment and social function recovery.

Abstract
On 18 May 2021, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of X District in P City, Z Province received a co-investigation of a suspected case of intentional HIV transmission from the public security branch, and conducted epidemiological investigations on Zhao and Wang (both males). Wang was confirmed HIV-positive in 2019. Zhao had unprotected sexual encounters several times with Wang in March 2021 without being informed of Wang's HIV infection. Zhao developed fever, sore throat and other symptoms of acute infection phase on 28 March, and were confirmed HIV positive by the CDC of P City on 11 May. Zhao did not have sex with anyone else before or after having sex with Wang. In addition, Zhao had no history of surgery, blood transfusions, drug use or any other history of HIV exposure. Laboratory tests conducted by the CDC of Z Province showed that the HIV nucleic acid sequences between the samples of Zhao and Wang had a high degree of homology. Combined with the epidemiological investigation, laboratory testing and the evidence from the public security branch, it was concluded that Wang intentionally transmitted HIV to Zhao through unprotected anal sex without disclosing his HIV infection status.

Objective To compare the image quality of chest low dose CT (LDCT) using automatic exposure control (AEC) and constant current control (CCC) and explore a more reasonable scanning protocol. Methods Two hundred and eighty participants were examined with 64 CT scanner at 7 centers in China. All were divided into 4 groups. Two groups underwent LDCT using AEC with standard deviation set at 25 (A1) and 30 (A2) respectively and the tube current ranged from 10 mA to 80 mA. The other two groups underwent LDCT using CCC with tube current set at 40 mA (C1) and 50 mA (C2) respectively. The axial and MPR images were evaluated by two radiologists who were blinded to the scanning protocols. The radiation dose, noise and the image quality of the 4 groups were compared and analyzed statistically.Differences of radiation dose and noise among groups were determined with variance analysis and t test, image quality with Mann-Whitney test and the consistency of diagnosis with Kappa test. Results There was a significant lower DLP in AEC group than in CCC group [(82.62±40.31)vs ( 110.81±18.21) mGy·cm (F =56. 88 ,P < 0. 01 )], whereas no significant difference was observed between group A2 and group A1 0. 05]. The noisy of AEC group was higher than that of CCC group both on lung window(41.50±9.58 vs 40.86±7.03) and mediastinum window (41.19±7.83 vs 40.92±9.89), but there was no significant difference( Flung =0.835, P=0.476, Fmediastinum =1.910, P=0.128).The quality score of axial image in AEC group was higher than that in CCC group (superior margin of the brachiocephalic vein level: 4.49±0.56 vs4.38±0.64,superior margin of the aortic arch: 4.86±0.23 vs 4.81±0.32,the right superior lobar bronchus Level:4.87±0.27 vs 4. 84 ± 0. 22, the right middle lobar bronchus Level: 4.90±0.25 vs 4.88±0.21) except on the right inferior pulmonary vein level(4. 92 ±0. 25 vs 4. 93 ±0. 17) and superior margin of the left diaphragmatic dome level (4. 91±0.27 vs 4.93±0.22) on lung window, but no significant differences (F=0.076-1.748, P>0.05) were observed. A significant higher score in AEC group was observed on mediastinum window compared with CCC group on superior margin of brachiocephalic vein level (2.57±0.77 vs 2. 46 ± 0. 59, F = 8. 459, P < 0. 05 ), however, the score of AEC group was lower than that of CCC group on other levels without significant differences (superior margin of the aortic arch:3.36 ±0. 63 vs 3.45 ±0. 60,the right superior lobar bronchus level: 3.94 ±0. 56 vs 3. 95 ±0. 51 ,the right middle lobar bronchus Level: 3.80 ±0. 58 vs 3. 87 ±0. 50,the right inferior pulmonary vein level: 3.72 ±0. 56 vs 3.78 ±0. 53, superior margin of the left diaphragmatic dome level: 3.58 ± 0.63 vs 3.68±0.56,F=0.083-3.380,P > 0.05 ). The MPR image quality of AEC group was better than that of CCC group both on lung window and mediastinum window (Zlung =-2.258, Zmedlastinum=-1.330, P>0.05). For all participants including the underweighted group, the normal group and the overweighted group, the image quality of A1 group was better than that of A2 group without significant differences (the underweighted group: Zlung=0.000, P=1.000, Zmedastinum= 0.000, P=1.000;the normal group: Zlung =-0.062, P=0.950, Zmediastinum =-0.746, P = 0.456; the overweighted group: Zlung = - 1.177, P = 0.239,Zmediastinum =-1.715, P=0.144) both on lung and mediastinum windows, and for the higher BMI participants, a better image quality was obtained in A1 group than in A2 group on the mediastinum window (Z = -1. 715, P = 0. 144). Conclusions The total radiation exposure dose of AEC group is significantly lower than that of CCC group, but no statistical significant differences are observed between both groups in image quality and noise level. The AEC technique is highly recommended in thoracic LDCT scan for screening program, and the SD25 ( SD value = 25) scan protocol is suggested for higher BMI population while the SD30 (SD value = 30) scan protocol for lower BMI population.

Chinese Journal of Experimental Traditional Medical Formulae 2023;29(7):76-83
ObjectiveTo investigate the effect and mechanism of pachymic acid (PA) in Poria on the invasion and metastasis of renal carcinoma cells. MethodThe effect of PA (0, 20, 40, 80, 160 μmol·L-1) on cell viability was detected by cell counting kit-8(CCK-8), and the dose of PA was selected for subsequent experiments. The effect of PA (0, 20, 40, 80 μmol·L-1) on cell proliferation was evaluated by colony formation assay. The effect of PA (0, 20, 40, 80 μmol·L-1) on cell adhesion ability was observed by cell adhesion assay. The effect of PA (0, 20, 40, and 80 μmol·L-1) on cell invasion and metastasis was investigated by Wound healing assay and Transwell invasion assay. The inhibitory effect of PA (0, 20, 40, 80 μmol·L-1) on cell motility was further observed and verified by high-content imaging technology. The effects of PA (0, 20, 40, 80 μmol·L-1) on the expression of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)/tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinasas (TIMP) related to invasion and metastasis and Smads were detected by Western blot. ResultCCK-8 results showed that compared with the blank group, the PA groups showed decreased cell viability(P<0.01), with the half-maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) of ACHN cells of 70.42 μmol·L-1 at 24 h. Colony formation assay showed that the number of cell clonal groups in the PA groups was reduced compared with that in the blank group(P<0.01). Cell adhesion assay showed that compared with the blank group, the PA groups displayed reduced cell adhesion(P<0.01). Wound healing assay showed that the wound healing rate of cells in the PA groups was lower than that in the blank group (P<0.05,P<0.01). Transwell invasion assay showed that compared with the blank group, the number of transmembrane cells in PA groups was reduced(P<0.01). High-content imaging showed that the cumulative migration distance of cells in the PA groups was shorter than that in the blank group(P<0.01). The results of Western blot showed that the protein expression of MMP-2 and MMP-9 in the PA groups decreased (P<0.01), and TIMP-1 protein expression increased (P<0.01) compared with those in the blank group. In addition, compared with the blank group, the PA groups showed decreased protein expression of Smad2 and Smad3 (P<0.01). ConclusionPA can inhibit the invasion and metastasis of renal carcinoma cells presumably through regulating the homeostasis of MMP/TIMP by Smad2/3.
