OBJECTIVE: To study the equilibrium solubility of aesculin and its apparent oil/water partition coefficient,and to provide basis for absorption mechanism study.METHODS: Equilibrium solubility of aesculin at the pH of 1.2～8.0 was determined by saturation method.The apparent oil/water partition coefficients of aesculin were determined by shaking flask method.RESULTS: The equilibrium solubility of aesculin at the pH of 1.2～6.8 was fluctuated slightly;it increased rapidly at the pH of 7.4;the maximum equilibrium solubility of aesculin was obtained at the pH of 8.0(10.58 g?L-1).The oil/water partition coefficient of aesculin changed slowly at the pH of 1.2～6.0;it decreased significantly at the pH of 6.0;the minimum oil/water partition coefficient was obtained at the pH of 8.0(0.03).CONCLUSIONS: The equilibrium solubility of aesculin and its apparent oil/water partition coefficient are associated with the pH of medium.The reason that aesculin has no effect on uric acid after oral administration is relevant to poor gastrointestinal tract absorption ability.

Extremely severe pancytopenia induced by low dosage of azathioprine in systemic lupus erythematosus patients is rare. A 40-year-old Chinese female was diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus. She suffered worse erythema, oral ulceration, raised erythrocyte sedimentation rate and high anti-dsDNA in August 2013. Then she was initiated on oral azathioprine 50mg/d and extremely severe pancytopenia was seen in September 2013. She was recovered by a series of treatments. Regular monitoring of blood counts is highly recommended to reduce the possible serious myelosuppression induced by azathioprine.

Objective To develop a fast shimming method for permanent magnet MRI system. Methods Peak location method (PLM) was improved by calculating the eddy current effect, and the time deviation was replaced by their phase to increase the precision. Results Experiment showed that the new method took less than 45 s, which was 3 times faster than conventional method while providing the same homogeneity. The result of PLM satisfied the requirement of homogeneity. Conclusion This new method can significantly improve the homogeneity in a short time and satisfy further fast pulse sequence development on 0.5T permanent magnet MRI system, which can be generalized for any permanent magnet first order shimming.

A 35-year-old woman patient,complained of intermittent pain in the left flank for a week.Abdominal ultrasound and computed tomography scan revealed a left renal mass.Nephrectomy was performed,and a final diagnosis of adult Wilms' tumor was made based on histopathology and immunohistology.Chemotherapy was conducted for 4 times with dactinomycin D,vincristine and doxorubicin after surgery.At the time of the last recheck,the patient was alive with no evidence of disease.Adult Wilms' tumor is the exceptional malignant renal tumor.Only 1%-2% of Wilms' tumor is diagnosed in adult patients.Because of unspecific tumor symptoms in adults,the diagnosis is frequently made by histology.The diagnosis of adult Wilms' tumor is difficult to make preoperatively because diagnostic imaging only confirms the presence of a renal mass.Stage and histology are the clinical factors guiding the selection of postsurgical treatment and prognosis.Having retrospected 6 cases of adult Wilms' tumor between 1950 and 2007 and reviewed related reports,we conclude that the proper strategies of adjuvant treatment as applied to childhood Wilms' tumor patients after surgery can conspicuously improve the outcome in adult patients.

Objective To study the relationship between chemical composition of urinary stones and metabolic disturbance. Methods 284 urinary stone patients who had undergone analysis of stone composition were evaluated;of them 191 patients had entire blood biochemistry results and 24-h urine analysis results.The relationship between stone composition and metabolic disturbance was analyzed using ?2 test. Results Calcium oxalate stones were found in 195 cases (68.7%),infection stones in 41 cases ( 14.4%),uric stones in 38 cases (13.4%),phosphate stones in 6 cases (2.1%) and cystine stones in 4 cases (1.4%).Metabolic disturbance was found in 176 (92.1%) of 191 patients with entire blood biochemistry results and 24-h urine analysis results.Among the 176 patients,hypercalciuria occurred in 27 cases (14.1%),hyperuricosuria in 54 cases (28.3%),hyperoxluria in 41 cases (21.5%),hyperphophauria in 55 cases (28.8%),hypocitraturia in 128 cases (67.0%),hypomagnesiuria in 80 cases (41.9%),24-h urine volume

Objective To investigate the changes of activation and apoptosis of T-lymphocyte in peripheral blood of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) at the attack and relieved stage and their clinical significance. Methods 64 cases of COPD were divided into 2 groups: the acute stage(n=34)and the relieved stage groups(n=30). The T-lymphocytes were marked by fluoromonoantibodies CD 3 +, CD 4 +, CD 25 + , CD 95 +, CD 3 +/CD 25 +, CD 8 +/CD 28 +,CD 8 +/CD 28 - and was counted by flow cytometry . Results Compared with the relieved stage, in patients with COPD at the acute attack period,the CD 3 +, CD 95 +, CD 3 +/ CD 25 +, CD 8 +/ CD 28 - were increased, CD 4 + ,CD 25 + had not obvious change, but CD 8 +/ CD 28 + was increased. Conclusions In COPD at the acute attack stage, the immune function was disordered as the result of the change of T subtype of lymphocytes and the reduction of total T lymphocyte.So except for treatment in accordance with their symptoms,immunodrug of cells should be used in order to raise the immune function of the patients.

Objective To establish the determination method for osthol in Compound Shechuang Tincture. Methods Hypersil ODS column was used and methanol-water (70∶30) was used as a mobile phase. The flow rate was at 1.0 mL/min and the detection wave-length was at 322 nm. Results Osthol had a good linear relationship between 0.018～0.126 ?g (r =0.999 9). The average recovery was 98.55% and RSD was 1.45%. Conclusion This method is simple, rapid and accurate. It can be applied to determining osthol in Compound Shechuang Tincture.

Objective To explore the role of focus intervention mode in improving the self-efficacy and subjective well-being of newly-contracted nurses. Methods A total of 100 nurses selected as the survey subjects by means of convenient sampling method, were numbered consecutively and divided into observation group and control group by random digit number table. The observation group was intervened with conventional mental consultation and the observation group with the WeChat-based focus intervention mode, which included the use of past-oriented questions and answers for understanding their strength and sources, future-oriented presuppositions and miracle-oriented questions for their thinking of resolutions to future problems. The two groups were compared in terms of general self-efficacy and well-being by the general self-efficacy scale (GSES) and the overall well-being scale (GWB). Results Before intervention , the total scores on GSES and GWB of the observation groups were insignificantly higher than those of the control group (P > 0.05). After intervention, the scores of observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P < 0.01). Conclusion The We-Chat-based focus intervention mode can effectively improve the self-efficacy and subjective well-being of newly-contracted nurses.
