Objective To investigate the effects of surgical trauma on synaptic structure in hippocampal CA3 area in aged rats. Methods Fifty-six healthy SD rats aged 18 months were randomly divided into 3 groups: control group (group C, n = 8) , anesthesia group (group A, n = 24) , and operation group (group O, n - 24) . Anesthesia was performed with intraperitoneal ketamine 40 mg/kg but no operation was carried out in group A. Anesthesia was also performed with intraperitoneal ketamine 40 mg/kg, and splenectomy was performed after loss of righting reflex in group O. Eight animals from group A and O selected on 1, 3, and 7 d after anesthesia or operation respectively underwent Morris water maze test for assessment of the cognitive function. The animals were . then decapitated. Hippocampal CA3 area was isolated for examination with electron microscope and the synaptic structure in the polymorphic layer of hippocampal CA3 area was measured. Results Compared to group C and A, the times of passing through the original platform and number of synapses were significantly reduced, the width of synaptic cleft was significantly increased, the thickness of the postsynaptic density was significantly decreased, the length of the active zones was significantly shortened, and the curvature of the synaptic interface and percentage of perforated synapses were significantly decreased at T_(1,2), ( P < 0.05 or 0.01) , but no significant change was found in the indices mentioned above at T_3 in group O(P > 0.05). Compared to group C, the latency and swimming distance were significantly prolonged at T_1 in group A and at T_(1,2) in group O ( P < 0.01) . Compared to group A, the latency at T_(1,2) and the swimming distance at T_2 were significantly prolonged in group O ( P < 0.05) . Conclusion Surgical trauma can induce early postoperative cognitive impairment through changing synaptic structure in hippocampal CA3 area in aged rats.

Objective:
To analyze the trend in the mortality of liver cancer in Ningbo City from 2002 to 2021, so as to provide the evidence for improving the liver cancer control measures.
Methods:
The liver cancer mortality data in Ningbo City from 2002 to 2021 were collected from Ningbo Municipal Chronic Disease Surveillance System. The crude mortality and standardized mortality by the 2 000 national population census data of liver cancer were estimated, and the proportion of concomitant diseases was analyzed among all dead patients with liver cancer. In addition, the trends in liver cancer mortality were analyzed with annual percentage change (APC) and average annual percentage change (AAPC).
Results:
Both the crude and standardized mortality of liver cancer appeared a tendency towards a decline year by year in Ningbo City from 2002 to 2021, with AAPC of -3.47% (95%CI: -4.08% to -2.85%, P<0.001) and -6.56% (95%CI: -7.25% to -5.87%, P<0.001), and a the decline in liver cancer mortality was larger during the period between 2006 and 2021 than during the period between 2002 and 2006. The annual mean crude and standardized mortality of liver cancer was 35.39/105 and 20.98/105, and the crude mortality of liver cancer was 52.69/105 in men and 18.13/105 in women, respectively. After adjustment for age, the risk of liver cancer mortality was 3.03 (95%CI: 2.96-3.09) times greater among men than among women, and the mortality of liver cancer appeared a tendency towards a rise with age (χ2trend=45 684.254, P<0.001). Concomitant diseases were found among 9 985 dead cases with liver cancer (24.44%), and the concomitant diseases mainly included digestive system diseases (predominantly liver diseases) and infectious and parasitic diseases (predominantly virus hepatitis).
Conclusions
The mortality of liver cancer appeared a tendency towards a decline in Ningbo City from 2002 to 2021, and men and middle-aged and elderly residents were at high risk of liver cancer mortality. Digestive system diseases and infectious and parasitic diseases were predominant concomitant diseases among dead patients with liver cancer.

Objective To study the influence of daily air temperature on daily chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) mortality in residents in Ningbo. Methods A time-series analysis using distributional lag non-linear model (DLNM) was conducted to estimate the attributable numbers and fraction of average air temperature on the daily COPD mortality in Ningbo from 2011 to 2016, by controlling the long-term time trend, day of week, air pollutants and other weather variables. Results A reverse J-shape relationship was found between the average air temperature and COPD mortality, and the minimum-mortality temperature (MMT) was 25.5℃. The relative risks of extreme low and extreme high air temperature over lag 0-14 d were 2.767 (95%CI: 1.950-3.928) and 1.197 (95%CI:1.021-1.404). In total, 31.62%(95%CI:23.05%-38.89%) of COPD mortality (4963 cases, 95%CI: 3469-6027) was attributable to non-MMT exposure, More attributable deaths were due to low air temperature, with a fraction of 30.41%corresponding to 4772 deaths, compared with 1.22%and 192 deaths due to high air temperature. Low air temperature and high temperature were more likely to influence the mortality in females and those aged ≥65 years, but the influence was not significant in people aged <65 years. Conclusion Both high and low air temperature were associated with an increased risk of COPD mortality in residents in Ningbo, especially during cold season, related measures on disease prevention should be taken to protect vulnerable population to reduce the risk of COPD mortality.

Objective To explore the difference between T cells in the synovial fluid and peripheral blood in patients with rheumatoid arthritis(RA). Method Samples from 22 patients were studied. The differentiation and activation markers expressed on T cell surface were detected by immunofluorscence using flow cytometer. The specific proliferation of collagen Ⅱ and heat shock protein 70 was analyzed using standard 3H-TdR incorporation method. Restricted V beta usage of these T cell was analyzed by semi-quantitied RT-PCR. Results The majority of the T cell subsets in the synovial fluid were demonstrated to be CD4 and CD8 positive cells in which (40?10)% were CD4 positive and (36?16)% were CD8 T cells respectively. The ratio between CD4 and CD8 was much lower than that found in the PBL of RA patients. The percentage of CD3+/CD25+ T cells was (16?6)%. The specific proliferation of collagen Ⅱ and HSP70 to CD3+/CD25+ T cell was higher than that of CD3+/CD25+ negative T cells. The T cell receptor expressed on the T cells from both peripheral blood and synovial fluid were tested for ?? TCR (70?26)%. However, the T cells in the synovial fluid showed V?14,16 and 17 restriction. Conclusion The data here reported indicates that T cell subsets in the synovial fluid and peripheral blood circulation in patients with rheumatoid arthritis are different. The T cells in the synovial fluid demonstrates more activation and higher reactivation to collagen Ⅱ and HSP70. The TCR of T cells showes V?14,16 and 17 restriction.

Chinese Journal of Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Diseases 2019;37(8):627-632
Objective:
To Assess occupational health risks of exposuring to low concentrations (lower than occupational exposure limit, OEL) benzene, toluene and Xylenes.
Methods:
Qualitative evaluation, semi-quantitative evaluation and quantitative evaluation from guidelines for occupational health risk assessment of chemicals in the workplace were conducted to assess occupational health risks exposure to benzene compounds in different workplaces of 5 manufacturing enterprises, respectively.
Results:
Concentrations of benzene, toluene and Xylenes in all workplaces were lower than OEL. Qualitative evaluation showed that occupational health risk level was 4 exposure to benzene and Xylenes in all workpalces, while 2 exposure to toluene. Semi-quantitative evaluation showed low level (2 of 5) risks in all workplaces exposured to benzene compounds excepted 4 workpalces exposured to benzene, the latter was moderate (3 of 5) . Quantitative evaluation gave unacceptable carcinogenic risk (higher than 10-4) of benzene in the wood toy manufactory, and the highest risk was (1.48~5.26) ×10-4. The occupational health risks of benzene and Xylenes were all unacceptable (HQ>1) in 9 workplaces.
Conclusion
There still need more attention to occupational health risks exposure to benzene, toluene and Xylenes lower than OEL.

Chinese Journal of Medical Ultrasound (Electronic Edition) 2017;14(12):927-932
Objective To investigate the clinical significance of combined heart and lung ultrasound in patients with severe left heart failure and pulmonary hypertension. Methods From March 2016 to June 2017, 75 patients with grade Ⅲ and Ⅳ heart failure and dyspnea were enrolled in Qingdao Municipal Hospital Affiliated to Qingdao University. Thirty-three patients had normal pulmonary artery pressure (normal pulmonary arterial pressure group), 25 patients had mild pulmonary hypertension (mild pulmonary hypertension group), and 17 patients had moderate to severe pulmonary hypertension (moderate to severe pulmonary hypertension group). The patient′s plasma B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) was measured. Left ventricular diameter (LVD), right ventricular diameter (RVD), and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) were measured by echocardiography. The patient′s lungs were observed by lung ultrasonography, and its number was recorded. One-way analysis of variance was used to compare the differences of LVD, RVD, and LVEF in three groups of patients with severe left heart failure. Further comparison between groups was performed using LSD-t test. Kruskal-wallis H test was used to compare the plasma BNP concentration and B-line number in three groups of patients with severe left heart failure. The Mann-Whitney U test was used to further compare the groups. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve of pulmonary hypertension diagnosed by plasma BNP concentration and B line number in patients with severe left heart failure were drwan. Results The concentrations of BNP in patients with normal pulmonary arterial pressure, mild pulmonary hypertension, and moderate to severe pulmonary hypertension were 890 (614, 1516), 1460 (1245, 1950), and 2660 (1670, 3279) ng/L, respectively. The number of B line was 12 (9, 16), 17 (14, 18), 26 (20, 28), and the RVD was (22.1±1.7), (24.9±2.0), (26.3±2.8) mm, respectively. The number of B-line and RVD in the moderate-severe pulmonary hypertension group were both lager than those in the mild pulmonary hypertension group, and the number of B-line and RVD in the mild pulmonary hypertension group were both lager than those in the normal pulmonary artery pressure group. There was significant difference between any two groups (BNP concentration: U=210.500, P < 0.05; U=47.000, 73.000, both P < 0.001;B line number:U=189.000,P < 0.05;U=38.5000,64.000,both P < 0.001;RVD:t=0.553, 0.623, both P<0.001; t=0.656, P<0.05). There was no significant difference in LVD and LVEF between the three groups of patients. The ROC curve showed that the optimal threshold for the diagnosis of pulmonary hypertension in patients with severe left heart failure with BNP concentration was 1225 ng/L. The sensitivity was 85.7%,the specificity was 69.7%,the area under the curve was 0.814,and the 95% CI was 0.717 to 0.911. The optimal threshold for diagnosis of pulmonary hypertension in patients with severe left heart failure was B line number 14, the sensitivity was 88.1%, specificity was 66.7%, the area under the curve was 0.836, and 95%CI was 0.747 to 0.925.Conclusion Patients with severe left heart failure at different pulmonary artery pressure levels have different B-line findings, and the number of B-line increases with the severity of pulmonary hypertension, which warrants further study and application.
