1.Accelerating hematopoietic recovery in mice after allogeneic bone marrow transplantation by co-infusion of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells

Objective To investigate the effect of co transfusion of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMMSC) on hematopoietic recovery in mice after allogeneic bone marrow transplantation(allo-BMT).Methods Both BMMSC obtained after three to four weeks of culture and bone marrow cells of donor mice C57BL/6(H-2~b) were transplanted into the recipient mice BalB/c(H-2~d) that were lethally irradiated.Peripheral blood cells were counted on day 1,7,and 14 post-transplantation.CFU-S in recipient bone marrows were measured on day 7 and 14.Results The numbers of peripheral WBC,RBC,platelets and the number of CFU-S in recipient bone marrows on day 7 and 14 were all significantly higher in the co-infusion group than those in control group(P
2.Recurrent swelling of lower limbs (lymphedema) as manifestations of idiopathic hypereosinophilic syndrome: a case report

A 21-year-old male was hospitalized for recurrent swelling of lower limbs (lymphedema) for 1 year and worsening of it for 1 week.Physical examination revealed several smooth,firm enlarged lymph nodes of the neck,groin without apparent tenderness measuring about 1 cm in diameter.Cardiac and pulmonary auscultation showed no obvious abnormality.The abdomen was soft on palpation without tenderness or rebound tenderness.Skin examination revealed swelling of both lower limbs,especially the left lower limb,as well as scattered irregularly sized,dark erythematous patches with a wood-like consistency on the swollen lower limbs,with high temperature but no tenderness.Elevated peripheral eosinophil count was observed before and after admission,with the eosinophil percentage higher than 70%.Vascular ultrasonography showed thrombosis in the right anterior tibial artery,left dorsal artery of foot and lower portion of the left great saphenous vein.Multiple enlarged lymph nodes were found by computed tomography in the mediastinal,bilateral axillary,retroperitoneal regions and around the abdominal aorta.Lymph node and bone marrow biopsies showed eosinophilia.Histopathology of lesions on the extensor aspect of the left medial thigh and left lateral malleolus showed massive eosinophilic infiltration and lymphatic dilation in the dermis,as well as eosinophil emboli in some lumens.The FIP1L1-PDGFRA fusion gene was undetected.A diagnosis of idiopathic hypereosinophilic syndrome was finally made.The symptoms rapidly regressed after glucocorticoid treatment.
3.Follow-up of endoscopic submucosal dissection for early esophageal cancer

Objective To investigate the intermediate and long-term efficacy of endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) for early esophageal cancer(EEC).Methods A total of 56 patients with EEC underwent ESD at Jiangsu Province People's Hospital between April 2010 and June 2015.Among the 56 cases,there were 39 cases of intramucosal cancer,17 cases of submucosal cancer.Intravascular cancer embolus was found in 2 patients.The en bloc and complete resection rates,the residual,local tumor recurrence and new occurrence rates of EEC after ESD were evaluated.The average follow-up time was 24.4 months,ranging from 1 to 62 months.Results The en bloc and complete resection rates were 92.9%(52) and 87.5% (49),respectively.Four patients were treated by additional esophagectomy.The cases of residual lesions,local tumor recurrence,new occurrence and second primary extra-esophageal cancer (gastric cancer) was 1 (1.8%),2 (3.6%),2 (3.6%) and 2 (3.6%),respectively.No additional surgical operations were performed in the 7 patients or no recurrence was found,and there was no death during the follow-up period.Conclusion ESD has the advantage of high complete resection rate,low residual and local tumor recurrence rate in treatment of EEC,and the intermediate and long-term outcomes are satisfactory.
4. Expression of PD-L1 and Gal-9 in human adipose-derived stem cells and its influencing factors

Objective:
To explore whether human adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) express PD-L1 and Gal-9 and its potential influence factors.
Methods:
ADSCs isolated from 28 healthy female donors who underwent liposuction of the abdomen or breast tissue were cultured and characterized. The expression of PD-L1 and Gal-9 were detected using flow cytometry. The impact of donor age, body mass index (BMI), donor site and interferon-γ (IFN-γ) on the expression of PD-L1 and Gal-9 was analyzed using multivariate linear regression analysis.
Results:
The cultured cells fulfilled the criteria for defining MSCs according to the international standards and expressed PD-L1 and Gal-9. Breast-derived ADSCs had higher expression levels of PD-L1 (37.24%±8.20%) and Gal-9 ( 4.41%±2.65%) than those in abdomen-derived ADSCs (28.80%±8.59% and 2.51%±1.39%, respectively) (

Neck dissection(ND)is one of the main treatment methods for oral and maxillofacial malignancies.Although ND type is in con-stant improvement,but intraoperative peal-pull-push injury of the accessory nerve,muscle,muscle membrane,fascia and ligament induced shoulder syndrome(SS)is still a common postoperative complication,combined with the influence of radiochemotherapy,not only can cause pain,stiffness,numbness,limited dysfunction of shoulder neck and arm,but also may have serious impact on patient's life quality and phys-ical and mental health.At present,there is still a lack of a systematic evaluation and rehabilitation management program for postoperative SS of oral and maxillofacial malignant tumors.Based on the previous clinical practice and the current available evidence,refer to the relevant lit-erature at home and abroad,the experts in the field of maxillofacial tumor surgery and rehabilitation were invited to discuss,modify and reach a consenusus on the etiology,assessment diagnosis,differential diagnosis,rehabilitation strategy and prevention of SS,in order to provide clinical reference.
