Chinese Traditional Patent Medicine 1992;0(08):-
AIM:To establish a digitized HPLC fingerprint of Compound Danshen Dropping PilLs (CDDP). METHODS:The RP-HPLC condition was optimized by the chromatographic fingerprint relative index (Fr). The chromatographic fingerprints were characteristically digitized and evaluated by the software of the digitized evaluation system of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with the super information characteristics. RESULTS:15 co-possessing peaks were selected as the fingerprint peaks of CDDP by taking protocatechualdehyde peak as the referential peak to establish the digitized fingerprint and the important digitized information for its quality control was obtained. The stabilities among different lots of samples were evaluated by the dual qualitative and dual quantitative similarity method. CONCLUSION:The fingerprints can perfectly reflect the authentical quality of CDDP.

AIM: To establish a novel method for the overall quality control of Fructus Gardeniae by HPLC digitized fingerprint and its normalization. METHODS: The chromatographic fingerprints were obtained by injecting 5 ?L of the sample solution each time on a Century SIL C_ 18 BDS column (20 cm?4.6 mm, 5 ?m) with the gradient elution solvent system composed of 1% acetate acid-water and 1% acetate acid- acetonitrile. The flow rate was 1.0 mL /min, the column temperature was maintained at (30?0.15)℃ and the detection wavelength was set at 265 nm. The chromatographic fingerprints were evaluated by the digitized parameters, such as the chromatographic fingerprint index (F), quantitative similarity, etc,. The influence of big peak on similarity was elaborated by direction cosines, and its cancellation was achieved by the qualitative similarity of peak area ratio. RESULTS: 35 co-possessing peaks were selected as the fingerprint peaks of Fructus Gardeniae by taking Geniposide peak as the reference peak. The HPLC digitized fingerprint and its normalization were implemented. CONCLUSION: This method with good precision and reproducibility can be useful in the quality control of Fructus Gardeniae.

AIM: To study the effects of ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) on primary cultured sinoatrial node (SAN) cells and the influence of pinacidil (a K_(ATP) channel activator). METHODS: The SAN cells were isolated from newborn rats and purified. The 48 h cultured cells were cultivated in following mediums: simulated reperfusion solution as normal control, simulated ischemia/reperfusion solution (I/R), Pinacidil+I/R (P+I/R), 5-HD+P+I/R and 5-HD+I/R. Spontaneous action potentials were recorded by ruptured-patch whole-cell technique in current clamp ((I=0)) and the maximum diastolic potential (MDP), upstroke velocity (UV), action potential overshoot (APO), interbeat interval (IBI) and action potential durations at 50% repolarization (APD_(50)) were measured. RESULTS: Compared with control group, simulated ischemia/reperfusion shorten APD_(50), reduced UV, MDP and APO. Exposed to pinacidil, MDP of cells in I/R groups was hyperpolarized; IBI, UV and APO were increased; APD_(50) was shorten. 5-HD couldn't block the effects of pinacdil on APD_(50), IBI and MDP, but reversed its actions on increasing UV and APO. CONCLUSIONS: Pinacidil made changes of AP in I/R group by opening different K_(ATP) channels of SAN cells. The role of this changes on protection in SAN cells during ischemia/reperfusion requires further investigation. [

B-ultrasonography and/or CT scannings of 84 cases of enlarged superior ophthalmic vein (SOV) were analysed morphologically and etiologically. Carotid-cavernous fistula, ophthalmic Graves disease, Tolosa-Hunt syndrome, orbital vascular deformity, inflammation at the apex of the orbit, orbital pseudo tumor, intraorbital hematoma and thrombosis of the SOV might induce enlargement of SOV. Associated with other Findings of intraorbital tissues revealed by CT and B-ultrasonography, the etiological diagnosis of the enlarged SOV could be made. The dynamic findings of the SOV rendered by B-ultrasonography and Doppler ultrasonic play an important role in the diagnosis of carotid-cavernous fistula.

Objective To evaluate the immediate and short term therapeutic efficacy of percutaneous transluminal septal myocardial ablation (PTSMA) in patients with hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM) and to investigate the prevention of the related complications. Methods PTSMA was conducted in 3 patients with HOCM refractory to medication. The immediate effect was evaluated by pressure monitor, but the follow up effect by observation of the clinical symptoms and ultrasonic cardiogram. Results The left ventricular outflow tract gradients triggered by ventricular premature beats decreased from 143 mmHg (ranging from 70 to 180 mmHg) to 53 mmHg (ranging from 30 to 80 mmHg). Complete atrioventricular block (Ⅲ?AVB) with atrioventricular node rhythm was found in 1 case, and complete right branch bundle block (CRBBB) in another one. Follow up of the 3 cases at 6 months after operation revealed remarkable improvement of the patients' cardiac function (NYHA), disappearance of angina pectoris, and obvious attenuation of ventricular septal hypertrophy and SAM (systolic anterior motion of mitral) phenomenon. Conclusion PTSMA is an effective method with satisfactory short term effect for the patients with HOCM refractory to medication.
