Chinese Journal of Organ Transplantation 1996;0(03):-
Objective To study the anti acute rejection effect of ethanol extract of poria cocos wolf (EEPCW) in heart transplantation rats. Methods Homologous heart transplanted rats were divided into 4 groups ( n =20 in each group). EEPCW 50?mg?kg -1 ?d -1 , EEPCW 25?mg?kg -1 ?d -1 , CsA 5?mg?kg -1 ?d -1 and olive oil 8?ml?kg -1 ?d -1 were given to different groups. Cardiac allograft survival was observed on 10 of each groups. The pathologic lesion, the contents of IL 2 and IFN ? in peripheral blood, percentage of CD3 +, CD4 +, CD8 + lymphocytes and ratio of CD4 +/CD8 + were determined on another 10 in each groups and 10 normal rats. Results Survival of the donor heart was significantly prolonged and pathologic lesion was relieved, the contents of IL 2 and IFN ? in peripheral blood, percentage of CD3 +, CD4 +, CD8 + lymphocytes and ratio of CD4 +/CD8 + were significantly reduced in EEPCW groups. Conclusion Acute rejection of heart transplantation can be effectively suppressed by ethanol extract of poria cocos wolf.
2.Detection of Antibody to Ureaplasma Urealyticum by ELISA
Chinese Journal of Dermatology 1995;0(03):-
In the paper,a modified ELISA was first developed for the detection of antibody to Ureaplasma urealyticum(UU) in clinical specimens. Antibody to UU in serum of patient was detected by indirect ELISA. In comparison with metabolism inhibition test(MIT), of 22 UU culture-positive individuals, 21 were positive by ELISA and 22 by the MIT with an overall agreement of 95. 5%. IgG antibodies to UU were found in 93.8% and IgM in 30.8% of 81 UU culture-positive patients, whereas IgG antibodies in 2. 5% and IgM in 3.7% of the UU culture-negative group by ELISA. Meantime,serovartype-specific antibody could not be detected by ELISA with type-specific antigen, the cross-reaction might be due to the presence of homogeneous antigens among UU species.
3.Mitogen-activated proteins kinases:an emerging therapeutic target for pathological pain
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2003;0(07):-
Pathological pain or clinical pain is caused by tissue and nerve injuries, and is usually chronic and mainly divided into inflammatory pain and neuropathic pain. Pathological pain is typically characterized by hyperalgesia (increased responsiveness to noxious stimuli) and allodynia (painful responses to normally innocuous stimuli). The MAPKs are a family of evolutionally conserved molecules that play a critical role in cell signaling, consisting of extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK),p38,and c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK),which play an important role in neural plasticity of pathological pain. Inhibition of MAPKs alleviates inflammatory pain and neuropathic pain in different animal models. It is very important to study the inhibition of MAPKs as a therapeutic approach to treating pathological pain. All the studies suggest that MAPKs is a promising therapeutic target for pathological pain.

BACKGROUND:It is important for the aged population to improve the locomotor activity, maintain a high-level quality of life, and delay the loss of self-care ability.
OBJECTIVE:To analyze the physique properties and influencing factors of the aged population in some areas of Jiangsu province, and to investigate the rule of physiological aging process.
METHODS:In nine test sites of three cities (Nanjing, Yanhceng and Changzhou) of Jiangsu Province, 520 effective samples were col ected and composed of 42.9%males and 57.1%females. We tested the reliability and validity of inspected questionnaire on the aged physique and sports, and then adopted the questionnaire to get general demographic information about their gender, age, education, used occupation, income and physical exercise. At the same time, physical tests were performed (including nine projects such as body shape, physical function, body quality).
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: ① More than half of the surveyed aged have reached overweight level according to their body mass index, while only a few have normal body mass index, especial y the females. ② Most of the surveyed aged have abnormal blood pressure, and a large number of the aged are in moderate to severe hypertension. ③ There is a gradual y reduction in upper and lower limbs muscle strength, balance ability and walking ability along the aging, a substantial drop is found after 75 years old. There is no obvious difference between male group and female group expect grip strength. ④ Physical exercise can delay the degenerative change in muscle strength and balance ability of the aged. Education has great influence on the physical quality and used occupation influences blood pressure. Having a retired wage also has significant effects on physical quality index and blood pressure, but no influence is found in body shape.

Neurogenic tumors located in the posterior mediastinum, generally require surgery which be confronted with greater risk, therefore, to design the best surgical approach and surgical methods is essential. A 67-year-old female patient had pharyngeal foreign body sensation and dysphagia. Thyroid ultrasound showed the right thyroid had a little nodule, and the left thyroid had a hypoechoic lumps. Neck enhanced CT showd mediastinal mass, esophageal tumor origin or stromal tumor? We used the jugular approach to resect the tumor which eventually diagnosed as schwannoma. The meditational benign tumor with an envelope easy to peel can employ the jugular approach to resect it completely.
