1.Effect of modified Danggui Shaoyao Powder on the expression of COX-2 and Nrf2 in serum of patients with chloasma
Chinese Journal of Biochemical Pharmaceutics 2017;37(6):94-96
Objective To investigate the curative effect of modified Danggui Shaoyao Powder in the treatment of patients with chloasma and the effect on the expression of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and nuclear factor E2 (Nrf2) in serum.Methods90 cases of patients with chloasma treated in the hospital were selected as the subjects.According to different treatment methods, the patients were divided into the control group (treated with routine western medicine, n=48) and the study group (treated with modified Danggui Shaoyao Powder, n=42).The clinical efficacy, changes of cytokines (serum COX-2 and Nrf2), patch pigment regression.ResultsAfter treatment, the total effective rate of the study group was significantly higher than that of the control group (90.48% vs 72.92%) (P<0.05).After treatment, COX-2, patch pigment regression scores in the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment, and Nrf2 was significantly higher than that before treatment. The changes were more significant in the observation group than the control group (P<0.05).ConclusionModified Danggui Shaoyao Powder is significant effective in the treatment of chloasma. It can effectively promote the regression of pigment, reduce the skin lesion area and improve the quality of life of patients. The mechanisms may be related to effectively reducing COX-2 and increasing Nrf2.

Objective To establish a simple, stable, specific and sensitive method for detection of Tyzzer ’ s or-ganism by reverse dot blotting ( RDB) .Methods Primers and specific probes were designed according to the conservative sequence of Tyzzer 16S rDNA.The forward primer was labeled with biotin .The reverse dot blotting method was established followed by PCR amplification .The specificity and sensitivity of this method were determined .Next, 41 mice and 38 rats were examined by RDB , ELISA and IFA .Results The RDB method showed a high specificity , and in the testing of the 79 laboratory animals , its limit of detection was 4.5 ng/μL.Compared the results of ELISA and IFA , its consistence with ELISA was 100%and the positive rate was 7.59%(6/79), the consistence with IFA was 92.4%(73/79), and the posi-tive rate was 0%.Conclusions An accurate, sensitive and specific method in combination with PCR and RDB in detection of Tyzzer’ s organism is established in this study .

Chinese Journal of Postgraduates of Medicine 2008;31(z1):34-35
Objective To study the role of IL-18 in the pathogenesis and treatment of ulcerative colitis (UC). Method An enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was utilized to detect the serum IL-18 level of 58 UC patients. Results The serum IL-18 level in acute period of UC patients was significantly higher than that in control ones(P < 0.05 ). There was no significant difference between remisson period of UC and control ones (P> 0.05). The serum IL-18 level was closely related with the degree of UC (P < 0.05),the mean concentration of serum IL-18 was significantly higher in patients with severe ulcerative colitis [ (392.78 ± 50.17)pg/ml]than in patients with mild colitis ulcerative [ (138.92 ± 23.41 )pg/ml]and in control ones. Serum IL-18 in active ulcerative colitis were positively related to clinical disease severity and activity or laboratory parameters, including CAI,serum CRP,erythrocyte sedimentation rates,or total leukocyte counts (r = 0.775,0.705,0.662,0.625,P < 0.01 ). The level of IL-18 was declined after treatment with corticoids(P< 0.05). Conclusions IL-18 might play an important role in the pathogenesis of UC. The measurement of IL-18 is helpful to estimate the disease activity of UC and it may be considered as laboratory and activity criteria for UC.

Objective To study the expression and significance of metalloproteinase 2(MMP-2)and tisse inhibitor of metalloproteinase(TIMP-2 ) in the degenerative calcific aortic valve. Methods 15 calcific and 10 non-calcific aortic valve acquired through aortic valve replacement.were studied by immunohistochemistry for MMP-2 and TIMP-2.Morphologic changes were observed by light and transmission electron microscopic. Results The expression of MMP-2 and TIMP-2 in calcific group were significantly higher than in non-calcific group(P<0.01).Positive cells were mostly localized subendothelial and the extracellular matrix.Control valves exhibited very weak staining of MMP-2 and TIMP-2 mostly localized in the extracelluar matrix.Various degree of endothelial damage and interstitial calcification were observed.Conculsion The expression of MMP-2 and TIMP-2 may play an important role in the calcific aortic valve. They may be involved not only in matrix degradation but also in matrix remodeling. The mecha-nism of regulation and activation remain to be elucidated.

Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2005;3(2):34-38
Objective: To quantify the effect of motor-developmental Tuina therapy on 61children with cerebral palsy. Methods: All the children received the motor-developmental Tuina therapy for 20 min each time, 3 to 6 times per week. The gross motor functions of the children were evaluated by GMFM 66. The baseline period evaluations in 15 children and follow-up period evaluations in 26 children were performed. Results: GMFM 66 score significantly increased at the end of treatment period (P<0.001). The GMFM 66 score changes per month in treatment period was significantly greater than those of both baseline period and follow-up period (P<0.001). Conclusion: The effect of motor-developmental Tuina therapy was notable on children with cerebral palsy. Continuous progress of the gross motor functions in these children may be obtained by continuous therapy.
