Objective To compare the differences in curative effect between general treatment model and stroke unit model in the treatment of stroke in the elderly inpatients, to explore the standardized management model, for improving efficacy and reducing the degree of invalidity and mortality. Methods A total of 1200 cases with acute cerebrovascular disease were admitted into our department from April 2002 to April 2007. All patients were randomly assigned either into stroke unit or general ward to receive treatment, and the data of two groups were compared. The key indexes included mortality, hospitalization time, Barthel Index (BI), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and Oxford Handicap Scale (OHS). All the patients or their family members were asked to have the Visual Analogue Scales (VAS). The data of cost and effect were analyzed with SPSS software. Results The complication rate and mortality rate were significantly lower in stroke unit group than in general ward group (P< 0.01). The scales of BI, NIHSS, OHS and VAS were significantly better in stroke unit group than in general ward group when discharged (P<0.05). The hospitalization time was shorter in stroke unit group than in general ward group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the costs of hospitalized patients between the two groups (P>0.05).Conclusions Stroke unit model can improve the physical activity and life quality of patients and reduce disease mortality without increasing the cost of patients.

AIM: To isolate, purify and differentiate endothelial progenitor cells from cord blood in vitro and to study their biological characteristics. METHODS: CD133~+ cells were selected from fresh cord blood mononuclear cells (MNC) by magnetic activated cell-sorting system (MACS). EPC was studied by flow cytometry, immunocytochemistry and immunofluorescence staining. Isolated cells were cultured in IMDM medium supplemented with or without VEGF, bFGF, SCF. RESULTS: The percentage of CD133~+ cells of cord blood MNC was (1.41?1.14)%, and purity was 75%-85% (FACS method). CD133~+ cells were grown on fibronectin-coated chamber slides in the presence of VEGF, bFGF, SCF. Within 1-2 hours of culture cells became adherent. On day 7-10, the adherent cells displayed a typical "cobblestone" morphology. After 14 days of culture, the adherent cells revealed a heterogeneous cell population, comprising small-sized round cells, spindle-like cells and formed tube-like structure. Weibel-Palade bodies were shown on the transmission electron microscopy photomicrographs. Compared with the (original,) cell markers CD133 and CD34 decreased significantly (77.0%?3.3% to 1.6%?2.2% and 93.1%?4.7% to 37.4%?4.9%, P

AIM: To study the effect and the mechanism of crenulatin, an effective constituent of Chinese traditional medicine, on apoptosis of cerebral microvascular endothelial cells. METHODS: The following terminal concentrations of crenulatin were used in the study: 25 mg/L and 100 mg/L. Apoptosis of mouse cerebral microvascular endothelial cells (bEnd. 3 cell line) was evaluated by flow cytometer, immunocytochemical assay (Fas, Bcl - 2) and Western blotting (caspase - 3) after culture for 24 h. RESULTS: Compared with control group, apoptosis of bEnd. 3 cells in 25 mg/L group was significantly inhibited ( P <0.05), but apoptosis in the 100 mg/L group was significantly increased (P < 0.05). In apoptosis inhibited group, the Fas immunocytochemical staining was weaker, the positive cells were significantly decreased ( P < 0.05) and caspase - 3 expression was decreased compared with control group; however, the Bcl - 2 staining was stronger and the positive cells were significantly increased ( P < 0.05). On the other hand, in apoptosis increased group ( 100 mg/L group), the changes were just opposite. CONCLUSIONS: The effect of crenulatin on apoptosis of mouse cerebral microvascular endothelial cells possesses a dual - direction change, inhibitive effect in 25 mg/L and stimulative effect in 100 mg/L group, respectively. The mechanism is related to the alterations of Fas/Bcl - 2 expression and caspase - 3 activity.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of polyamide on the separation on phenolic acids components by nanofiltra-tion process. METHODS:Phenolic acids components were selected as targets, extracted from the Salvia miltiorrhiza,Lonicera ja-ponica or intermediate preparations (tea polyphenols) with water, and filtered with membranes with different pore sizes. The con-tent changes of components were analyzed by HPLC. RESULTS:Danshensu, protocatechuic aldehyde and caffeic acid could better transmit nanofiltration membranes with 3 different pore sizes;with the decrease of pore size, the rejection rates of neochlorogenic acid, chlorogenic acid, rosmarinci acid,ECG and EGCG grew in different levels. But salvianolic acid B was almost retained by the membrane with low molecular weight except 600-800 Da. CONCLUSIONS:Molecular weight importantly influenced nanofiltra-tion separation on phenolic acid components;nanofiltration has a good prospect in enrichment of phenolic acids components.

Chinese Journal of Neonatology 2016;31(2):125-128
Objective To study the closure time of neonatal ductus venosus and the Z score regression equation, and to explore the variation of closure time of neonatal ductus venosus with gestationalage. Methods Color doppler ultrasound was applied to detect the closure time of neonatal ductus venosus in normal newborns, Z score regression equation ( lnY =a +bX +cX2 ) for the closure time of neonatal ductus venosus ( Y ) was developed by regression analysis which used gestational age ( X) as an independent variable. The Z scores of the closure time of neonatal ductus venosus in different gestational age were calculated by the formula [ Z = ( M - Y )/S x , M for observation value, Y for predictivevalue].Results There were 432 cases in our study. The closure time of neonatal ductus venosus was negatively related to gestational age ( r = -0. 938 , P <0. 001 ) . The nonlinear regression equation was lnY= -5. 228+0. 089X-0. 000228X2, R2 =0. 854, Sx =0. 214(P<0. 001). Based on the predicted mean of the closure time and Sx related to different gestational age, Z scores for specific closure time of neonatal ductus venosus could be calculated by the formula [ Z =( M -Y)/Sx ] . The Z scores were normally distributed, and did not change with gestational age. Conclusions Theclosure & nbsp;time of neonatal ductus venosus is negatively related to gestational age. The Z scores obtained by the predicted nonlinear regression equation are normally distributed.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1986;0(05):-
AIM To determine the concentration of paeonol in the bulk drug and injection, a method of reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) was developed. METHODS Lichrospher C_ 18 column(4.6 mm?250 mm, 5 ?m)was used with methanol-acetonitrile-water(30∶40∶30)as mobile phase at a flow rate of 0.8 ml?min -1 . 20 ?l of sample was injected into the C_ 18 column where the temperature was 25℃. The detection wavelength was 274 nm. RESULTS The linear regression equation for paeonol was = 3 772.525 8 X- 0.747 4 (r = 1.000 0, n =5) under the linearity range from 0.02 mg?L -1 to 25.60 mg?L -1 . The average recovery was 99.87%. The relative standard deviations of the intra-day and inter-day were less than 4%. CONCLUSION The method is simple and rapid, which may be used for the determination of paeonol and its preparation for different purpose.
