Sleep deprivation (SD) has been taken as an independent predictor for cardiovascular risks, which was closely related to the increased morbidity and mortality in coronary heart disease (CHD). In this article, after reviewing the impact of modern medical method sleep deprivation on CHD and studies on principle method recipe medicines for preventing and treating CHD, the authors observed the autonomic nerve dysfunction, hormonal metabolism dysfunction, endothelial dysfunction and inflammatory responses after sleep deprivation, which can cause or aggravate CHD. On the basis of the traditional Chinese medicine theories of "heart dominating the blood and vessels and the mind", the authors considered that traditional Chinese medicines can tonify heart and soothe the nerves, reducing all of the risk factors through multi-target and multi-pathway, and improve sleep and decrease the risk factors caused by sleep deprivation, which provides a new idea for the prevention and treatment of CHD.

International Eye Science 2015;(7):1266-1268
AlM: To investigate the relationship among carotid atherosclerosis, homocysteine ( Hcys ) and anterior ischmic optic neuropathy( AlON) .METHODS: Sixty-five AlON patients enrolled in AlON group and 70 non - AlON controls enrolled in control group. All the participants in 2 groups were examined by carotid artery color doppler flow imaging to evaluate the incidence of carotid atherosclerosis. Plasma levels of Hcys, vitamin B12 and folate were measured by automatic biochemical analyzer. The incidence of carotid atherosclerosis, plasma levels of Hcys, vitamin B12 and folate were compared statistically between AlON and control group.RESULTS: Fifty - six AlON patients ( 86%) exhibited carotid atherosclerosis, which was found in 43 control subjects ( 61%) . Fifty - nine AlON patients ( 91%) exhibited increased plasma levels of Hcys compared with that in 38 control subjects ( 54%) . Lowered vitamin B12 was found in 37 patients with AlON ( 57%) and in 43 control subjects ( 61%) . Lowered folate was found in 54 AlON patients ( 83%) and in 32 control subjects ( 46%) . The incidence of atherosclerosis in carotid artery ( P =0. 001), mean Hcys level (P=0. 0005) and lowered folate ( P = 0. 0006 ) were different statistically between AlON group and control group. Mean vitamin B12 level was indifferent between AlON group and control group ( P=0. 0722). Logistic regression analysis showed that carotid atherosclerosis was an a risk factor for AlON (OR=1. 312, 95%CI:0. 927~1. 772), whereas elevated Hcys level (OR=2. 378, 95% CI: 1. 479 ~ 3. 821 ) was also shown to be significant risk factor for AlON. CONCLUSlON: Carotid atherosclerosis and elevated Hcys were related with AlON. Reducing above-mentioned risk factors related to thrombus may be crucial to the prevention and cure of AlON.

OBJECTIVE:To improve the information system of Out-patient pharmacy intravenous admixture center (OUIVA) to improve the pharmaceutical service rendered to the transfusion patient and ensure the safety of drug use. METHODS:The defi-ciency in OUIVA information system of our hospital were analyzed,in which improvement was made with respect to ungrouped doctor’s orders, inconsistency between the total doses charged and the prescribed doses and the error of transfusion days that occurred fre-quently. The conformity rate of out-patient fluid transfusion prescriptions and the time of patients’waiting for transfusion before and after the improvement were compared and evaluated. RESULTS:Improvement was made to OUIVA information system through the optimization of transfusion process, the application of condition limit, the adding of logical operation and verification and the other measures. After improvement, the unconformity rate of out-patient prescriptions in our hospital descended from 11.24% in 2013 to 3.69% in 2014,with an obvious increase in the accuracy rate of dispensing for fluid transfusion;and the time of patients’waiting for transfusion was shortened from 30-40 min to 15-20 min, with an increase in the degree of satisfaction of transfusion patients. CONCLUSIONS:The OUIVA information system can reduce the errors of drug dispensing for fluid transfusion and improve pharmaceutical services.

OBJECTSTo investigate the distribution of vitamin D receptor (VDR) genotypes among the Hans of a lead contaminated mine in Shanxi and explore the relationship between blood lead levels and the genetic polymorphism of VDR gene.
METHODSVDR genotypes were determined by polymerase-chain-reaction and restrictive fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) and the blood lead level was measured by using the graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry in a population of 120 pre-school children aged 5 - 6 years who were from the mine kindergarten and were unrelated Hans. An environmental questionnaire in relation to blood lead level was filled for each subject.
RESULTS(1) The gene distribution of the VDR phenotypes in these children was VDRBB, 1.7%; VDRBb, 9.2%; VDRbb, 89.2%. (2) The mean blood lead level of the children who had VDR B allele [(0.910 8 +/- 0.265 0) micromol/L] was significantly higher than that whose VDR genotype was bb [(0.740 1 +/- 0.270 1) micromol/L (mean +/- standard deviation)] (t = 2.155, P < 0.05). (3) Many factors were found to affect the blood lead levels, such as the VDR genotype, the type of fuel, educational level of mothers and so on. After controlling the possible confounding variables by multiple regression, the contribution of the VDR phenotype to the blood lead levels was still statistically significant.
CONCLUSIONThese results indicated that the frequency distribution of the VDR genotype in these children was apparently different from that in Caucasians who had high frequencies of VDR B. The results also indicated that the individuals carrying the VDR B allele were more susceptible to lead poisoning.
