Objective To investigate the effect of external treatment with traditional Chinese medicine on cervical spondylotic radiculopathy(CSR)and summarize nursing key points. Methods One hundred and twenty CSR patients with cervical shoulder pain and upper limb radioactive pain were randomly divided into the treatment group and control group in equal number. The treatment group were managed with external treatment with traditional Chinese medicine and the control group with conventional treatments. The curative effects were compared between the two groups 15 d after treatment. Results The treatment group achieved significantly better curative effect than the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion The external treatment with traditional Chinese medicine may effectively relieve cervical shoulder pains and radioactive pains in upper limbs induced by cervical spondylotic radiculopathy.

Objective To compare the cooling effect of ice compressing using the ice-bag packed by immobilization bag with that using the traditional way. Methods Choose 80 hyperpyretic patients who need ice compressing randomly. These ones were averagely and randomly divided into two groups: the observation group and the control group. Put the ice-bag into the self-designed immobilization bag in observation group and into the wrap as the schoolbook described in the control group, and then place it in the needed position for ice compressing. Results The nursing time was 4.50±2.40 minutes in the observation group while it was 15.52±9.54 minutes in the control group. Otherwise, the cooling effect of the observation group was obviously better than that of the control group. Conclusion Ice compressing with the ice-bag packed by immobilization bag was economical with time and effort, and it improved our nursing's efficiency with the cooling aim fulfilled.

Objective To further investigate the association among clinical pathology, complement activation and renal secretory IgA (SIgA) deposition in patients with IgA nephropathy (IgAN).Methods The activation of serum complements were detected by immunoturbidimetry and ELISA.Renal deposition of SIgA and activation of complements were detected by immunofluorescence. Then the association among clinical pathology, complement activation and renal SIgA deposition were analyzed in IgAN patients. Results In all 201 patients with IgAN,59 patients had SIgA deposition with higher incidences of mucosal infection history and hematuria (P < 0.05),lower levels of serum cystatin C,β2 microglobulin and lower tubulointerstitial lesion grades and T-grade in the Oxford classification (P < 0.05),when compared with patients without SIgA deposition. Both alternative and mannose binding lectin (MBL) pathways were activated in patients with or without SIgA deposition.Patients with MBL pathway activation had lower estimate glomerular filtration rate (P < 0.01),higher serum creatinine, higher proportion of glomerulosclerosis and S-grade in the Oxford classification, more severe tubulointerstitial lesion (P < 0.05).Conclusions Compared with patients without SIgA deposition, patients with SIgA deposition have a stronger link to mucosal immune. The deposition of SIgA is associated with different clinical and pathological manifestations;however, the complement activation is similar in both groups of patients.Patients with MBL pathway activation show more severe kidney injury.

Objective Establishing community nursing intervention to improve treatment compliance of senior patients taking and quit bad lifestyle so as to enhance quality of life. Methods We selected 180 senior patients who received the questionnaires concerning treatment compliance and the assessment of nursing satisfaction before and after our nursing intervention. Treatment compliance and the assessment of nursing satisfaction were compared. Results After the implementation of community nursing intervention, the senior patients could take medicines punctually and check up regularly. They could also know to control their emotion, take healthy diet, quit cigarette and alcohol and take adequate exercise according to our instruction. Meanwhile, the patients had higher level nursing satisfaction after the intervention. The comparison had statistical significance (P<0.01 or P<0.05). Conclusion Community nursing intervention could change and improve treatment compliance of senior patients actively. As a result, both the patients' quality of life and our nursing satisfaction were improved.

Sialic acid binding Ig-like lectin 10 (Siglec10) is a member of innate immune checkpoints that inhibits the activation of immune cells through the interaction with its ligand CD24 on tumor cells. Here, by analyzing public databases containing 64 517 patients of 33 cancer types, we found that the expression of Siglec10 was altered in 18 types of cancers and was associated with the clinical outcomes of 11 cancer types. In particular, Siglec10 was upregulated in patients with kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC) and was inversely associated with the prognosis of the patients. In 131 KIRC patients of our settings, Siglec10 was elevated in the tumor tissues of 83 (63.4%) patients compared with that in their counterpart normal kidney tissues. Moreover, higher level of Siglec10 was associated with advanced disease (stages III and IV) and worse prognosis. Silencing of CD24 in KIRC cells significantly increased the number of Siglec10-expressing macrophages phagocytosing KIRC cells. In addition, luciferase activity assays suggested that Siglec10 was a potential target of the transcription factors c-FOS and GATA1, which were identified by data mining. These results demonstrate that Siglec10 may have important oncogenic functions in KIRC, and represents a novel target for the development of immunotherapies.
