OBJECTIVE: To provide reference for the monitoring of adverse drug reactions(ADR).METHODS: All ADR reports collected during 2005～2007 were statistically analyzed and evaluated in accordance with the requirements on the writing of ADR reports in China.RESULTS: Of the 576 ADR reports collected,the average missing items totaled 13.86,12.16 and 13.61 respectively over the 3 years from 2005 to 2007.The number of ADR reports increased year by year,but no significant improvement was noted for the quality of the reports.The poor quality of the ADR reports manifested as serious missing of items,nonstandard writing of the content and the failure to meet standards in the proportion of serious cases etc.CONCLUSION: It is advisable that the special training of ADR reports should be done and the publicity of ADR knowledge should be strengthened so as to improve ADR reporters' cognition level on ADR report quality.

ObjectiveTo observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture plus neuromuscular electrical stimulation in treating motor aphasia after ischemic stroke.MethodSeventy-five patients were randomized into a control group of 38 cases and a treatment group of 37 cases. The two groups both received basic treatment. Besides, the control group was given acupuncture treatment; the treatment group was given acupuncture plus neuromuscular electrical stimulation. The acupuncture treatment and neuromuscular electrical stimulation were given once a day, 10 d as a treatment course, totally for 2 successive courses. The Aphasia Battery of Chinese (ABC) was observed before and after treatment to evaluate the speech function.ResultThe total effective rate was 81.6%in the control group versus 89.2% in the treatment group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The Communication Activities of Daily Living (CADL-T) scores were significantly increased after intervention in both groups (P<0.01), and the CADL-T score of the treatment group was significantly higherthan that of the control group (P<0.01).Conclusion Acupuncture is effective in improving the speech dysfunction and the quality of life in patients after ischemic stroke, and it can produce a higher therapeutic efficacy when combined with neuromuscularelectrical stimulation.

Objective To discuss the value of MRI in diagnosis of complications related to pregnancy.Methods MRI were per-formed in 22 cases of late pregnancy,7 cases of postpartum with vagina bleeding,and 1 case with eight weeks of gestation following irregular vagina bleeding,respectively.The position of placenta and umbilical cord were observed in the cases of late pregnancy.The shape and signal features of embryo were evaluated in the case of eight weeks gestation following irregular vagina bleeding.Residual placenta and its relationship with the wall of uterus were analyzed in the cases of postpartum with vagina bleeding.Results Among the 22 cases of late pregnancy,normal position of placenta were in 4 cases,placenta previa were in 18 cases,umbilical cord winding around fetal neck in 8 cases.9 cases of placenta previa complicated with placenta accreta were comfirmed by cesarean delivery,how-ever,only 6 cases of placenta accreta were detected on MRI.The residual placenta with placenta accreta was found in all 7 cases of postpartum patients.Hydatidiform mole was proved by pathology in the case of eight weeks gestation following irregular vagina bleeding,and it was showed as a mass with hypointensity on T1 WI and hyperintensity on T2 WI in uterine cavity.Conclusion The complications related to pregnancy such as placenta previa,umbilical cord winding around fetal neck,residual placenta,placenta ac-creta could be correctly displayed on MRI.Hydatidiform mole also could be diagnosed by combining the clinical symptoms with MR images.

Objective To investigate characteristics of memory-guided saccade in Parkinson' s disease (PD),and to evaluate the application of memory-guided saccade in diagnosing PD.Methods Fiftythree subjects with early- or mid- stage PD were chosen as PD group,meanwhile,36 age-matched healthy subjects were chosen as control group.Memory-guided saccade test and event-related potential P300 were performed in all subjects,and results of the two groups were compared; furthermore,results of subgroups comprised of 29 patients with early-stage PD were analyzed.Results In comparison with control group,memory-guided saccade in PD group showed decreased velocity and primary gain,prolonged latency,extremely increased incidence of unwanted saccade and multi-step saccade ( U =124.000,37.000;both P ＜0.01 ),such abnormalities has already stood out even in subgroup comprised of early-stage PD patients.Meanwhile,latency of event-related potential P300 in PD group was prolonged compared with control group ((384.76 ± 34.48) ms vs (352.42 ± 24.99) ms,t =- 4.791,P ＜ 0.01 ).Multi-step saccade measurement demonstrated excellent sensitivity (96.2％ ) and specificity (94.4％) in the ability to discriminate PD patients from controls.Conclusion Memory-guided saccade in PD patients shows highly abnormal which may reflect the impairment of pontine saccade pathway and the dysfunction of frontal lobe.Memory-guided saccade test may be a useful examination in assisting the diagnosis of PD.

Objective To study the feasibility of using fluorescent immunofiltration test based on quantum dots (QDs)for rapid and quantitative detection of C-reactive protein.Methods Based on homemade QDs and QDs-antibody bioconjugates,an immune de-tection method was established via the double antibodies sandwich technique on the immunochromatography card.The test results could be read under the irradiation of UV light,and quantitative results could be measured through the combination of a laser and fluorescent spectroscopy.Results Under UV light irradiation,the minimum detection concentration of CRP was 0.156 mg/L.U-sing the quantitative detection method,the fluorescent intensities on the cards could be established a linear relationship with the con-centration of CRP,and the linear equation was that log(Y )=0.563 log(X)+4.570,r2 =0.958.Conclusion The fluorescent quan-tum dot immunofiltration assay can be used for quantitative detection of CRP;The quantum dots immuno-labels have the potential to develop new type of immune-diagnostic reagents.

BACKGROUND: Homogenate meals, as a replacement of normal diet, can be used in either hospitals or families. The homogenate meal as nutritious supplements should contain multiple components when it is applied in senior patients with chronic diseases because of the longterm application and complex complications.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the impact of longterm tube feed of finished product of homogenate meal on the nutritious supplements of senior patients.DESIGN: A cross-sectional study based on diagnosis.SETTING, PARTICIPANTS and METHODS: Totally 24 senior patients with chronic diseases who had been used self-made finished products of homogenate meal for more than 1 year were selected for nutritious supplement from Guangzhou General Hospital of Guangzhou Military Area Command of Chinese PLA. The changes of nutritious index at before and 4, 8 and 12 months after supplement were observed.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Anthropometric measurement index and laboratorial index of 24 senior patients with chronic diseases before and after intervention were compared.RESULTS: Serous albumin at before nutritious supplements, and 4, 8 and 12 months after supplements were[ (36.4 ± 4.03), (36.60 ± 4.42),(38.20 ± 3.77), and(40.40 ± 3. 33) ] g/L respectively. Phosphorus and peripheral lymphocytes were significantly heightened while blood sugar began to decrease since 4 months after intervention, which all had significant differences compared with that of before intervention( t =2. 196 -2. 356,P <0.05; t=2.958-3.431. P <0.01) .Anthropometric measurement index also improved compared with that of before intervention.CONCLUSION: Longterm application of finished product of homogenate meal can improve the nutritious status of senior patients with chronic diseases.

By reviewing the reports of clinical study on herbs of promoting the circulation of Qi to remove blood stasis in treating adenomyosis in recent years, therapeutic mechanism and clinical effects of the treatment were summed up, in order to provide literature reference for the therapy.

Objective To study the anti-tumor effect and mechanism of bortezomib in primary acute leukemia cells from elderly patients.Methods Primary acute leukemia cells were treated with bortezomib 50-5000 nmol/L for 24-48 h,cell proliferation was analysed by MTT assay; apoptosis of primary acute leukemia cells was observed by fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry; protein expression of bcl-2 and Bax was detected by Western blot.Results The cell viability was 90 ％ and 70 ％ when leukemia cells were treated with 50 and 5000 nmol/L bortezomib for 24 h,respectively.Meanwhile,cells showed (10.2±2.3) ％ and (13.3±3.3) ％ apoptosis.With prolonged treatment for 48 h,cell viability decreased to 86 ％ and 60 ％,respectively,while the apoptosis rates were increased to(18.4±3.9) ％ and(20.7±3.7) ％.Compared to the control group 0 nmol/L bortezomib,the differences were statistically significant (F =53.76,F =7.74,F =54.49,F =16.94,all P values ＜ 0.05).With the increase of bortezomib concentration,the bcl-2 protein expression was decreased,while Bax was up-regulated.Conclusion Bortezomib can inhibit primary leukemia cells from elderly patients proliferation and induce apoptosis.The mechanism may be associated with the changes in bcl-2 family protein expression.

The activity of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) in the uterine flushing and endometrial tissue of normal adult women wearing FCu-IUD (fixed Cu-IUD) or FICu-IUD (indomethacin-releasing FCu-IUD) was observed by using zymography on SDS-PAGE containing gelatin. The results showed that the activity and kinds of MMPs in FCu-IUD group were increased significantly as compared with themselves before being inserted FCu-IUD. However, compared with the FCu-IUD group, the activity of some kinds of MMPs in the FICu-IUD group was decreased significantly. These data suggest that IUD can enhance the activity of MMPs in human endometrium, intermediated by prostaglandins, and MMPs may have relation to IUD-induced menorrhagia and indomethacin reduces IUD-induced menorrhagia by partly inhibiting MMPs synthesis.
