Objective To analyze the early warning indicators of tuberculous peritonitis (TBP)in patients with cirrhotic ascites. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on the clinical data of 62 patients with cirrhotic ascites hospitalized in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from January 2010 to December 2012.The chi-square test and Mann-Whitney U test were used for uni-variate analysis, while the logistic regression model was used for multivariate analysis. Results There were significant differences between TBP group and non-TBP group in sex, history of primary peritonitis, erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR),serum tuberculosis antibody, percentage of lymphocytes in ascites (≥50%),and prothrombin activity (PTA)(P<0.05 for all). The odds ratios (ORs)of history of primary peritonitis,PTA,ESR,and percentage of lymphocytes in ascites (≥50%)for development of TBP in patients with cirrhotic ascites were 1.933,3.205,2.716,and 11.701,respectively (P<0.05 for all),and the areas under the receiver operating characteristic curve were 0.831,0.815,0.775,and 0.935,respectively (P<0.05 for all). Conclusion History of primary peritonitis,PTA,ESR,and per-centage of lymphocytes in ascites (≥50%)are the early warning indicators of TBP in patients with cirrhotic ascites;these early warning in-dicators,especially percentage of lymphocytes in ascites (≥50%),have good predictive values.

Objective To evaluate the effects of the serum of patients with obstructive jaundice on myogenic differentiation of human pulmonary microvascular endothelial cells (PMVECs). Methods Hu?man PMVECs were isolated and then subcultured. The cultured PMVECs were incubated with the serum of patients with obstructive jaundice or with the serum of healthy volunteers. At 24, 48 and 72 h of incubation (T1?3), the inverted microscope was used to observe the morphology of primary PMVECs. The expression of muscular proteins ( alpha?smooth muscle actin [α?SMA ] , smooth muscle?mysion heavy chain [ SM?MHC] , capolnin) in PMVECs was detected using Western blot analysis. Results The expression of cal?ponin andα?SMA was negative, and a few SM?MHC proteins were expressed when PMVECs were incubated with the serum of healthy volunteers; the expression of calponin, α?SMA and SM?MHC was positive when PMVECs were incubated with the serum of patients with obstructive jaundice. Compared with the serum of healthy volunteers, the expression of SM?MHC was significantly up?regulated when PMVECs were incubated with the serum of patients with obstructive jaundice (P<0.05). The expression of calponin, α?SMA and SM?MHC was significantly up?regulated at T2,3 compared with that at T1 , and at T3 compared with that at T2 when PMVECs were incubated with the serum of patients with obstructive jaundice ( P<0.05) . Conclusion The serum of patients with obstructive jaundice promotes myogenic differentiation of human PMVECs, which is probably one of the mechanisms underlying intrapulmonary microvascular dilatation.

Objective To investigate the effectiveness of team-based learning(TBL)combined with research-based learning(RBL)in enhancing evidence-based nursing practice skills of undergraduate nursing interns. Methods A total of 114 undergraduate nursing students who interned in the operating room of a ⅢA hospital in Guangzhou from July 2021 to April 2022 were selected as study subjects.A randomized cluster sampling method based on a random number table was used to divide the students into a control group and a trial group. The control group received traditional teaching methods, while the trial group was taught using a combination of TBL and RBL.The two groups were compared in terms of evidence-based practice skills, critical thinking abilities, and their evaluations on the teaching methods. Results The differences in evidence-based practice skills and critical thinking abilities before and after the internship were significantly higher in the observation group compared to the control group(t=35.108,35.897;both P<0.05).Additionally,post-internship evaluation scores for the teaching methods in the trial group were significantly higher than those in the control group(t=-17.580,P<0.05).Conclusion TBL combined with RBL effectively enhances the evidence-based nursing practice skills and critical thinking abilities of undergraduate nursing interns. This approach also improves students'evaluations on the teaching methods and fosters the cultivation of excellent clinical evidence-based nursing professionals.
