AIM: To study the FT-IR fingerprinting characteristic of Huangjinju Powder Injection(HJJ)(Flos Trollii chinensis,Flos chrysanthemi indici,Flos Lonicerae Japonicae) and its effective constituents.METHODS: We adopt FT-IR and the second order derivative FT-IR,analysis by the related ratio,and then describe its mass characteristic by its crude drugs and the effective constituents. RESULTS: HJJ has fifteen peaks that are in turn,3735,2931,1664,1614,1450,1408,1360,1291,1191,1067,915,768,687,597 and 417 cm~(-1).Its special peak in the second order derivative is 1416 cm~(-1).The characteristics of the constituents of its crude drug that Flos Trollii Chinensis has 2926 and 1609 cm~(-1),Flos Chrysanthemi Indici has 1660 and 1609 cm~(-1) and Flos Lonicerae Japonicae has 767.The effective constituents that Baicalin owns 1664,1614,1450,1408,1067,915,768,687,597 and 417 cm~(-1),Orientin owns 2931,1614,1291 and 1191 cm~(-1),Vitexin owns 1614,1360,1067 and 597,Linarin owns 1450,1067 and 597 cm~(-1),Chlorogenic acid owns 1614,1291 and 1191 cm~(-1),Caffeic acid owns 1450 and 1360,and Hyperin owns 1360 and 1291. CONCLUSION: The effective constituents of FT-IR can be used in evaluating the mass of Huangjinju Powder Injection and reflect the key characteristic of its essence.It owns the obvious characteristics and specificity.

Pharmacognostic studies on the sollrce, shape, morphology, microscopic structrue and physico-chemical properties of the genitalia of mink were carried out in comparison with those of deer,donkey and dog with similar pharmacologic actions. Results showed that the genitalia of mink has its specific features in shape,mi croscopic structure and physico-chemical properties which can be used as the main characteristics to distin guish it from those of other animals. Chemical analysis showed that the genitalia of mink was rich in aminoacids and its zinc,manganese and calcium contents exceeded those present in the genitalia of other ani mals

monocarboxylate transporter (MCT) are vital transmembran e transporters involved in multiple cellular functions including the regulation of intracellul ar pH and lactate transport. At least eight isoforms of MCT have been cloned and characterized to date, they constitute a new gene family of mammal transporters . These isoforms have the differences in substrate and inhibitor specificities a nd tissue distribution. Thus it may provide a new way of diagonosis and treating for dieases such as cancer by investigating on the structure and function and r egulational mechanism of MCT.

Objective To study the immunological regulation of Nasal Healing Spraying Agent (NHSA). Methods Test models were setup by irradiation. The models were administrated with NHSA by lavage and immune adherence of red cells was tested by chaplet experiment with blank and positive control. Results NHSA could increase Red Blood Cell-C3b Receptor Rosette (RBC-C3bRR) and reduce Red Blood Cell-Immune Complex Rosette (RBC-ICR) in mice. Compared with blank control group, the results in the high dose group and middle dose group were statistically significant (P<0.01). The result also showed that NHSA could elevate the quantity and activity of Red Blood Cell-C3b Receptor (RBC-C3bR) and reduce the Immune Complex (IC) to enhance the red cell immune function in mice effectively. Conclusion NHSA could elevate the RBC immunity function in mice and increase immunoregulatory function.

Surrounding the purpose of exploring the related issues of the traditional Chinesemedicinal courses setting and promoting the college curriculum innovation capability,the paper mainly discussed the course open orientation, the teaching characteristics, objectives, idea, the core content and the training scheme, as well as the plan of course and teaching material construction depended on these contents.

Streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats were treated with resveratrol for 12 weeks.Compared with group of diabetic rats without treatment,the levels of urine albumin,serum creatinine,and blood urea nitrogen were significantly decreased and pathological changes in kidney were improved in treatment group ( P＜0.05 ).The mRNA expressions of FoxO1 and catalase were higher and FoxO1 phosphorylation level in diabetic rats treated with resveratrol was lower than that in diabetic rats without treatment (P＜0.05),suggesting that resveratrol may protect the kidneys of diabetic rats via regulating expression of FoxO1.

AIM:To analyze the changes in the active components alignment of Puerariae Decoctions between its two different compatibility proportion. METHODS: Reversed phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) was applied. RESULTS: When the compatibility ratio of Radix Puerariae Lobatea, Radix Scutellariae, Rhizoma Coptidis and Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae Praeparata cum melle was 5∶3∶3∶2, the contents of the eight drug active components alignment were 2.48% puerarin, 0.101% daidzin, 0.614% baicalin, 0.155% berberine, 0.048% palmatine, 0.094% jateorhizine, 0.154% glycyrrhizic acid, 0.283% liquiritin, and the proportional relationship of compatibility was 51.7∶2.1∶12.8∶3.2∶1∶2∶3.2∶5.9. When the compatibility ratio of Radix puerariae lobatae, Radix scutellariae, Radix Coptidis and Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae Praeparata cum melle was 8∶3∶3∶2, the proportion of contents of the eight active components alignment were 1.67%, 0.143%, 0.36%, 0.085%, 0.031%, 0.048%, 0.126%, 0.174%. And the proportional relationship of compatibility was 54.4∶4.7∶11.7∶2.6∶1∶1.5∶4.1∶5.7. CONCLUSION: When the compatibility percentage consists of 8∶3∶3∶2, only the puerarin content relatively increases. The active components alignment of the rest have no significant difference. This illustrates the contents of the active components alignment of puerariae decoction is related to the compatibility percentage and herb solubility.

Objective To analyze the clinical effect of anterior cervical decompression with double-way connection intervertebral fusion device (ROI-C) implantation for type Ⅱ or type Ⅱ a Hangman fracture.Methods A retrospective study was made on 14 patients with type Ⅱ or type Ⅱ a Hangman fracture treated with anterior cervical ROI-C implantation between February 2011 and March 2014.The patients (11 males and 3 females) were aged between 22 and 46 years (mean,26.4 years).Nine patients sustained traffic injury,4 fall injury and 1 crash injury.Nine patients were classified as type Ⅱ and 5 type Ⅱ a according to the Levine-Edwards classification.All were completed cervical anteroposterior and lateral X-ray,CT scan,three-dimensional CT reconstruction and MRI examination after adnission.American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA) grade E was noted in all before operation.Clinical posttraumatic neck score,visual analogue scale (VAS) as well as angle deformity and displacement of the axis were recorded before operation and at the latest follow-up.Results All patients were operated successfully.Mean operation time was 61 min(range,45-116 min).There were no injuries of superior laryngeal nerve,hypoglossal nerve,throat wall and vessel during operation.Laryngeal edema,dysphagia,paralysis of tongue,hematoma and wound infection were not observed after operation.Mean period of follow-up was 24.2 months (range,4-32 months).All segments and fracture sites showed solid fusion after 3 months.No cages became subsided or displaced,no discs collapsed,and no malunion occurred at the latest follow-up.Data of preoperation and latest follow-up differed significantly with respect to clinical posttraumatic neck score[(53.1 ±7.2) points vs.(91.1 ±5.0)points],VAS[3.38(2.43,4.33)points vs.0.58(0,1.29) points],axis displacement[(4.0 ± 1.5) mm vs.(1.3 ± 1.2) mm],and angle deformityoftheaxis[(9.2±4.7)° vs.(2.1 ±1.9)°] (P＜O.05 or O.01).Conclusion Anterior cervical surgery with ROI-C implantation for type Ⅱ or type Ⅱa Hangman fracture provides good fusion rate and satisfactory clinical effect.

Objective To investigate protective effects of pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate (PDTC) and mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) on kidneys of diabetic rats and the possible mechanism. Methods Thirty-four streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats were randomly divided into 4 groups: diabetic aminals without treatment (D group), diabetic rats treated with PDTC (P group), diabetic rats treated with MMF (M group), diabetic rats treated with combined PDTC and MMF (P+M group), and normal rats were considered as control group (C group). Blood glucose, blood urea nitrogen (BUN), serum creatinine (Scr), and 24 h urinary protein (24 h UP) were detected at the end of treatment lasting for 8 weeks. Kidneys were weighed in order to measure kidney weight/body weight ratio (KI) after rats were killed. Pathological changes in the kidneys were observed by light microscope and electron microscope. Expressions of interleukin-18 (IL-18), intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) in renal glomerulus were detected by immunohistochemical staining.Results Blood glucose, BUN, Scr, 24 h UP, KI were significantly higher in D, P, M and P+M groups than those in C group (all P＜0.05). BUN, Scr, 24 h UP, KI were significantly lower in P, M and P+M groups than those in D group (all P＜0.05). 24 h UP was reduced in P+M groups compared with P,M groups (P＜0.05). Pathological changes were attenuated in P,M and P+M groups compared with D group. Expressions of IL-18, ICAM-1, TNF-α in renal glomerulus were much higher in D group than those in C group (all P＜0.05) and were reduced in P, M and P+M groups compared with D group (all P＜0.05). Expressions of IL-18, ICAM-1, TNF-α in P+M group were lower than those in P group (all P＜0.05), while expressions of IL-18, TNF-α were lower than those in M group (both P＜0.05). Conclusion The protective effects on kidneys of diabetic rats produced by combined use of PDTC with MMF were much better than by the application of either PDTC or MMF alone. The mechanism appears to be related with suppressing expressions of inflammatory cytokines.
