Chinese Journal of Hepatobiliary Surgery 2015;21(9):612-615
Objective To study the surgical treatment and the related risk factors of cholangioenterostomy anastomotic stenosis. Methods We retrospectively analysed the clinical data of 41 patients who underwent surgical treatment for cholangioenterostomy anastomotic stenosis in the PLA General Hospital from January 1,2008 to November 30,2014.Results All patients' clinical symptoms were alleviated and they were discharged home.No one died perioperatively.Anastomotic restenosis happened in 5 patients. Conclusions Reoperation for cholangioenterostomy anastomotic stenosis was difficult. The surgeon should make the anastomosis as large as possible to decrease the risk of restenosis.A T tube should be used when necessary.
3.The application of 3D printed model for precision medicine in hepatobiliary surgery
Chinese Journal of Hepatobiliary Surgery 2016;22(9):645-648
The precise surgical treatment for hepatobiliary diseases has been a challenging topic in hepatobiliary surgery for a long time.A perfect preoperative plan can help the surgeon make R0 resection of the lesion and preserve the healthy tissue as much as possible. In addition, all of these depend on the application of different imaging modalities, especially three-dimensional reconstruction technique. But some limitations of 3D reconstruction should be noted:different surgeons may have different views for one object because of different observation points;or it cannot be used for intraoperative re-orientation and so on.3D printed model can overcome some disadvantages of 3D reconstruction. This paper reviewed related literature that reported the usage of 3D printed model in hepatobiliary surgery.

Objective To observe the therapeutic efficacy of acupuncture at the interiorly-exteriorly related meridians plus rehabilitation training in treating post-stroke shoulder-hand syndrome. Methods Sixty eligible patients with post-stroke shoulder-hand syndrome were randomized into a treatment group and a control group, 30 in each group. The treatment group was intervened by acupuncture at the interiorly-exteriorly related meridians plus rehabilitation training, while the control group was by rehabilitation training alone. After 2 treatment courses, the Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA), visual analogue scale (VAS) and edema score were observed and compared. Results The FMA, VAS, and edema scores were significantly changed in both groups after intervention (P<0.01). There were significant differences in comparing the FMA, VAS, and edema scores between the two groups after intervention (P<0.05). The total effective rate was 83.3%in the treatment group versus 76.7%in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Acupuncture at the interiorly-exteriorly related meridians plus rehabilitation is an effective method in treating post-stroke shoulder-hand syndrome.

Prion diseases are infectious and fatal neurodegenerative diseases. The pathogenic agent is an abnormal prion protein aggregate. Microglial activation in the centre nervous system is a characteristic feature of prion disease. In this study, we examined the effect of PrP 106-126 on PrP mRNA gene expression in Mouse microglia cells BV-2 by real-time quantitative PCR. PrP mRNA expression level was found to be significantly increased after 18 h exposure of BV-2 cells to PrP 106-126, with 3-fold increase after 18 h and 4.5-fold increase after 24 h and BV-2 cells proliferating occurred correspondingly. Our results provide the first in vitro evidence of the increase of PrP mRNA levels in microglial cells exposed to PrP 106-126, and indicate that microglial cells might play a critical role in prion pathogenesis.

Objective To investigate the state of Th1/Th2 cytokine imbalance in patients with lupus nephritis (LN) and its role in the pathogenesis. Methods Plasma level of interleukin-18 and interleukin-13 in 18 patients with active LN and 16 normal controls were measured by enzyme-linked immunoadsordent assay (ELISA). IL-18 and IL-13 expression in the renal tissues from 18 patients and 6 normal renal tissues were also detected by immunohistochemical assay. The ratio of plasma and renal IL-18/IL-13 was then calculated. Results Plasma levels and renal expression of IL-13 and IL-18 in patients with LN were increased significantly compared to those of normal controls (P0.05). The ratio of renal IL-18/IL-13 was not significantly different among all types of LN and normal controls. The ratio of plasma IL-18/IL-13 was positively correlated with LN renal tissue activity index (AI), but no correlationship could be found in renal IL-18/IL-13 ratio. Conclusion It seems that the immune disturbance in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) can not be simply divided into Th1 predominant and Th2 predominant. It seems far complicated than this Th1/Th2 paradigm. It may be affected by the state of disease activity, the lesion location and the type of pathology.
