Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2012;28(17):5-7
ObjectiveTo investigate and understand the cognitive level of occupational protection of staff in sterilization and supply center. Methods180 staff in sterilization and supply center were taken for a retrospective questionnaire investigation. The survey included:general information of the object, cognition about occupational protection, wearing of protective equipment, influence of occupational hazards, sharp instrument injury and the handling of injury cases. ResultsThe cognitive level of occupational protection in the sterilization and supply center was low. Some of the staff did not fully implement the wearing of protective equipment rules in the decontamination areas. In the occupational hazards, sharp instrument injuries accounted the highest incidence. The situation of taking blood tests after injury, injection of high titer globulin, report to the higher-ups and follow-up investigation were rare, and even some staff gave no handling of the wound. ConclusionsThe cognitive level of occupational protection in the sterilization and supply center is low.It not only needs professional training to improve cognitive level of occupational protection but also effective protective measures. The management department should establish a complete protection regulations of occupational safety and strict supervision in order to prevent the occurrence of occupational exposure, ensure staff safety, and at the same time, health records should be established in order to understand health status of staff.

Objective To elucidate the clinical features and treatment of hemangiopericytomas (HPCs) in different parts of the body, especially in CNS. Methods Clinical data of 41 cases with HPC which were treated at 301 Hospital from 1993 to 2004 were retrospectively analyzed with a review of relevant literature. Follow-up periods ranged from 4 to 150 months after surgery (mean 34 months). Results Among 41 patients of HPC, 21 tumors (51.2%) were found in CNS, and the rest 20 (48.8%) in other systems. Thirteen tumors were diagnosed as malignant HPC. Surgery for tumor removal was performed in all 41 patients. Among the 62 operations, total removal of tumor was achieved in 49 cases and subtotal removal in 13 cases. Recurrence in original site of the tumor occurred 21 times (33.9%) in 14 patients. Five patients (12.1%) presented one or more distant metastasis, and 5 patients died. HPCs in CNS and in other systems displayed similar clinical characteristics and pathological morphology. Conclusions HPC is a rare angioneoplasm that may arise in any part of the body. It is a great challenge to neurosurgeons as well as other surgeons to surgically manage the tumor. HPC has an unfavorable prognosis because its high rate of recurrence and metastasis. HPC in CNS and in other parts of the body should be recognized as one disease. At the same time, HPC in CNS has its distinct features.

Chinese Journal of Hospital Administration 1996;0(02):-
Under the socialist market-oriented economic system, state-owned hospitals need to overcome many problems in their traditional management system. The authors discuss a series of issues, including the property right involved in the reform of the management system of state-owned hospitals; the relationships between nonprofit hospitals run by the government and ways of handling them; the conditions of using the corporation management structure in hospitals; the responsibilities of the government in the framework of medical services and the form in which the government supervises state-owned hospitals. Lastly, the authors put forward suggestions from the perspective of policy-making on the reform of the management system of state-owned hospitals.

Objective To explore the influence of score sheet of colostomy on reduction of complication in non-hospitalized patients with colostomy stoma. Methods 186 patients with colostomy stoma were randomly divided into group A and group B.Group A used the score sheet of colostomy with nurses during hospitalization and after discharge.Group B were in routine treatment without using the score sheet of colostomy. The two groups were followed-up by phone or by visiting in the following 1,3,6 months after discharge. Results The complications between the two groups were evaluated. The risk of the complications was only 14.0% in group A,and the risk in group B was 36.6%.The results of self-satisfaction degree was significantly different between two groups. Conclusions The use of the score sheet of colostomy can significantly reduce the incidence of stoma complications and obviously improve the quality of life of the patients with colostomy.

Objective To explore the experience in nursing the patients with esophageal high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia lesions treated with endoscopic submucosal dissection. Method A retrospective analysis was carried out among the patients with esophageal high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia lesions to look into the nursing care to the patients. Results Thirty patients were successfully stripped, and no surgical complication occurred. After intensive care, they were cured and discharged. Conclusion Professional and meticulous care can effectively improve the success rate of endoscopic submucosal dissection and reduce the incidence of complications, and promote the rehabilitation of patients.

?AIM:To study the changes of ocular surface in cataract patients with Meibomian gland dysfunction ( MGD) who treated with Meibomian gland massage before surgery.?METHODS: Totally 90 patients ( 93 eyes ) with cataract and MGD were randomly divided into two groups. Patients in experimental group were treated with hot compress and Meibomian gland massage every day before surgery, while the patients in the control group were not taken. Two groups of patients received phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens implantation. Lid margin abnormalities, secretion characteristics, Schimer I test ( SⅠt) and tear film break-up time ( BUT ) were recorded and compared between two groups using slit lamp microscope inspection preoperatively and postoperatively 1wk.?RESULTS:In the control group, the postoperative score of eyelid margin and Meibomian gland secretion was increased significantly than preoperative, while the value of BUT and SⅠt was down significantly. Compared with control group, the postoperative score of eyelid margin shape and Meibomian gland secretion in the experimental group was decreased significantly, while the value of BUT and SIT improved significantly (P<0. 05).?CONCLUSION: Phacoemulsification can aggravate the Meibomian gland dysfunction and have some extent of effects on the ocular surface. Meibomian gland massage before surgery can significantly improve the function of Meibomian gland and the state of ocular surface in patients with MDG.
10.Progress in Neural Differentiation of Umbilical Cord Blood -Derived Stem Cells

China Biotechnology 2006;0(06):-
The ability of repair and regeneration of central nervous system (CNS) is limited. So many researchers applied themselves to search a valuable cell resource for treating severe diseases of the CNS. Several studies from different laboratories have recently reported that stem cells derived from human umbilical cord blood under certain in vitro conditions can manifest neural features that resemble features of neural-derived cells. In vivo transplantation studies have shown that these stem cells persistently engraft in the CNS, some engrafted cells acquire the characteristics of neurons and glia, and improve functional recovery after central nervous system injury. The existence of stem/progenitor cells with previously unappreciated proliferation and differentiation potential in umbilical cord blood raise the possibility that cord blood may provide an efficient source of cells differentiating into the neural lineage, with a potential to be employed in the therapy of human CNS diseases. The achievement and focuses on the mechanisms and modulation of induction of differentiation and in vitro and in vivo studies in this field was reviewed.
