Journal of Southern Medical University 2006;26(11):1621-1622
OBJECTIVETo study the radioprotective effect of catechines against radiation injury in mice.
METHODSCatechines were administered in mice intragastrically at the daily dose of 200 mg/kg for 10 consecutive days before whole body irradiation with 6 Gy X-rays. The body weight changes, survival time, 30-day survival rate, and counts of peripheral white blood cells were recorded.
RESULTSThe mice with catechine pre-treatment before X-ray exposure suffered less body weight loss than those without the treatment before exposure. Catechines markedly increased the survival time of the irradiated mice, and raised the 30-d survival rate of the irradiated mice to 53.33% as compared with the rate of 13.33% in the radiated mice without catechine pre-treatment. Catechines significantly promoted recovery of peripheral white blood cells.
CONCLUSIONCatechines have definite radioprotective effect against radiation injury in mice.

Journal of Clinical Hepatology 2019;35(11):2596-2599
Acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF) is a severe syndrome of liver diseases commonly seen in clinical practice and can lead to severe disorders and decompensation of liver synthesis, metabolism, detoxification, and biotransformation, as well as multiple organ failure and an extremely high short-term mortality rate. Infection can induce or aggravate the condition of ACLF and is an independent influencing factor for patient prognosis. This article describes the mechanism and characteristics of ACLF with infection, summarizes the common types and clinical features of infection, reviews the recommended anti-infective regimens, and emphasizes the importance of early prophylactic treatment. ACLF patients with infection tend to have critical conditions, and early diagnosis and empirical anti-infective treatment is the key to successful treatment.

7. Mechanism of Jingfang Granule in treatment of coronavirus infection by biological information technology
Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 2020;51(15):3937-3951
Objective: To explore the mechanism of Jingfang Granule in treatment of corona virus infection through biological information technology based on network pharmacology and molecular docking. Methods: The databases of TCMIP and TCMSP were used to summarize the flavor and meridian tropism and active compounds of Jingfang Granule, and the potential targets of active compounds were searched by PubChem and SwissTargetPrediction. The corona virus targets were collected from the GeneCards database. And common targets were enriched and analyzed by DAVID database after the intersection of the compounds targets and the disease targets. Then the network of "TCM-Ingredients-Common targets" was established by Cytoscape 3.7.2, the main active components and key targets were screened for molecular docking. Results: Totally 139 active components of Jingfang Granule and 27 common targets were obtained. GO enrichment analysis and KEGG enrichment analysis found that the pathways in cancer, MAPK signaling pathway, PI3K-Akt signaling pathway, TNF signaling pathway were the main pathways of Jingfang Granule in treatment of corona virus infection. The network of "TCM-Ingredients-Common targets" was successfully constructed, and results of molecular docking showed that the main components in this network such as β-sitosterol, cerevisterol, isorhamnetin, hesperetin, and luteolin etc., have good affinity with key targets of VEGFA, IL6, TNF, PPARγ, APP, ACE2, and SARS-CoV-2 3CL hydrolase. Conclusion: Jingfang Granule treats corona virus infectious diseases through the compatibility of multiple traditional Chinese medicine. Its resistance to corona virus infection may be through the β-sitosterol, cerevisterol, isorhamnetin, hesperetin, and luteolin act on the VEGFA, IL6, TNF, PPARγ, APP and other targets, and then affects the pathways in cancer, MAPK signal pathway, PI3K-Akt signal pathway, TNF signal pathways to achieve.

Tianjin Medical Journal 2009;37(10):865-868,后插2
Objective: To explore the mechanism of damaging effect of advanced glycation end products (AGEs) on human umbilical vein endothelial cell (HUVEC) in vitro. Methods: The HUVEC was incubated with exogenous AGEs for 12 h, and ergamine (Hi) and catalase (CAT) were used as control. The activity, monolayer permeability, apoptosis rate, biochemical indexes and morphous changes were detected in HUVEC. Results: The activities of HUVEC were dose-dependently reduced by exogenous AGEs(40 mg/L, 120 mg/L and 160 mg/L), meanwhile the monolayer permeability, the malondialdehyde (MDA) content and apoptosis rate were increased, the activity of superoxide dismutase(SOD)was decreased(P < 0.05, respectively). There was no significant difference in damaging effect between exogenous AGEs and Hi(P > 0.05). The damaging effect of exogenous AGEs was obviously inhibited by CAT in HUVEC. Conclusion: Exogenous AGEs induced the damaging effect on vascular endothelial cells, which may be related to the oxidative stress.
10. Identification of Rubi Parvifolii radix and its adulterants using DNA barcoding
Chinese Pharmaceutical Journal 2015;50(17):1490-1495
OBJECTIVE: To identify Rubi Parvifolii Radix from its adulterants using ITS2 sequence. METHODS: All the DNA of Rubi Parvifolii Radix and its adulterants were extracted. All the sequences were assembled using the CondonCode Aligner V3.7.1. The Kimura 2-parameter (K2P) genetic distances and the neighbor joining (NJ) phylogenetic tree were calculated by using MEGA5.1. RESULTS: The ITS2 sequences were succesfully amplified and sequenced. The length of ITS2 sequences of Rubus parvifo-lius was 212 bp, and the average GC content was 57.42%. Among 20 ITS2 sequences of R. parvifolius, three transversions were detected at site 66, 118 and 177. The maximum intra-specific K2P distance of R. parvifolius was 0.014, lower than the minimum interspecific K2P distances of adulterants, except for R. coreanus. Additionally, the ITS2 sequences of all the polytypic species were separated into pairs of divergent clusters in the NJ tree and R. parvifolius can be distinguished clearly from its adulterants. The ITS2 sequences of 23 samples of Rubi Parvifolii Radix collected from different herb markets, were successfully amplified. The NJ tree analysis indicated that 13 samples clustered with R. parvifolius, while the other 10 samples were clustered into other divergent clusters. CONCLUSION: ITS2 Sequence can be used as DNA barcode to correctly identify Rubi Parvifolii Radix from its adulterant.
