Journal of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University 2016;40(2):131-133
Objective] To sum up professor Shan Guangzhi's clinical experience for the treatment of bone metastasis of prostate cancer. [Method] From following professor Shan Guangzhi in the clinical practice and further studying his medical cases, summarizes his experience in the treatment of prostate cancer bone metastases, and sums up his academic thoughts for the treatment of the disease.[Result] Professor Shan Guangzhi thinks that deficiency of the kidney is the basic pathogenesis of bone metastases of prostate cancer,at the same time accompanied by spleen deficiency and qi-movement disturbance. To prostate cancer patients with bone metastases, pain is the most common symptom, the reason for it is that stagnation leading to pain and poor nutrition lead to pain. The treatment should focus on two aspects, both the inner treatment and the external treatment; the internal treatment regards invigorating Qi and tonifying the kidney as the basis, also pays attention to regulate spleen and stomach, dredges the body down;the external treatment regards promoting blood circulation to remove meridian obstruction as the rule,it can effectively relieve patients' pain, and cooperates with diet,as a whole to improve the quality of survival in patients. [Conclusion]Professor Shan Guangzhi's experience in the treatment of bone metastasis of prostate cancer has exact curative effect, worth learning and promotion.

Purpose To investigate clinicopathological features, diagnosis and differential diagnosis of tubular carcinoma of the breast. Methods Morphological observation and immunohistochemistry were applied in 29 cases of tubular carcinoma of the breast, and the literatures were also reviewed. Results The tumors were composed of open tubules, infiltrating haphazardly in the cellular desmoplastic stroma. The neoplastic tubules were enclosed by a single layer of epithelial cells with insignificant atypia or rare mitoses. The tumors were often associated with lobular neoplasm, columnar cell lesion, ductal atypical hyperplasia or carcinoma in situ. Immunostaining displayed that myoepithelial cells were absent or incomplete. Conclusions Tubular carcinoma of the breast is a peculiar subtype of breast carcinoma with good prognoses, which is easily confused with microglandular adenosis, radial sclerosing lesions,or low grade invasive ductal carcinoma.Immunohistochemistry is useful for the differential diagnosis.

Chinese Journal of Microsurgery 2012;35(4):289-293
Objective To examine the effect of valproic acid (VPA) on concentration of Intracellular Ca2+ and on cell apoptosis in spinal cord motor neurons after brachial plexus injury in rats. Methods Totally 210 adult male Wistar rats were randomly divided into Sham operation group (disposed the brachial plexus nerve root, but not cutted it off), control group (rats with brachial plexus nerve root amputating wound)and VPA group(rats with brachial plexus nerve root amputating wound and fed by VPA water),with 70 rats in each group. The specimens were taken at 12,24,48,72 h,1,2 and 4 weeks after operation.Whole-cell patch-clamp recording techniques were used to assayed the L-type calcium channel of motoneuron and monitored the changes in intracellular concentration of Ca2+ with spectrofluorometer. The motoneruron apoptosis was detected by TUNEL. Results The set of indicators did not change in the sham group. From 12h to 1 weeks after the operation, the electrical current of L-type calcium channel and the intra-cellular Ca2+ concentration of the neuron were obviously more in control group than in sham operation group (P <0.05). From 12 h to 4 weeks after the injury, there were more apoptosis neurons in control group than in sham operation group (P < 0.05). There was no obviously difference in electrical current of L-type calcium channel between the VPA group and the control group at each time point(P > 0.05).Compared to the control group, the intra-cellular Ca2+ concentration was lower in VPA group from 48 h to 1 week after nerve injury (P < 0.05) ; the number of apoptosis neurons were less in VPA group from 24 h to 2 weeks after the injury (P < 0.05). Conclusions Brachial plexus nerve root amputating wound in rats can increase the intra-cellular Ca2+ concentration and apoptosis of the motor neuron.VPA can reduce the intra-cellular Ca2+ concentration and apoptosis, but has no effect on the L-type calcium channel of the motor neuron.
