At present, the computer administration and network system for diabetes still need exploration in China. A management software for the prevention and treatment of diabetes has been developed, taking the advanced MS SQL SERVER system as background database, while PowerBuilder 9.0 as foreground development tool. Both personal version and net version are configurable at random. This software includes six parts, namely the general data of patients, conventional physical examination of patients, treatment proposal, knowledge management, data query and statistical analysis, and system maintenance, in which they contact and conjugate with each other for the convenience of the whole processing. Good effects are obtained in the practical application of this software, and a regional network of the preventive and therapeutic information for diabetes is set up combining with other medical units, which can share the individual information, improve the ability of cooperative and follow-up study of diabetes, promote the data transferring and diagnosing quality of primary medical services, and is beneficial for both patients and physicians.

International Journal of Laboratory Medicine 2009;30(8):762-763
Objective:
To investigate the undertected situation in gonococci culture of male urethral secretions.
Methods:
The 362 cases of male ureethral secreations were simultaneously detected with fluorescence quantitative PCR, germiculture and direct smear method. The results in three detections were statistically analyzed.
Results:
The fluorescence quantitative PCR positive rate was 29.56%, near to direct smear method (26.52%)(x2=0.83,P>0.05); the germiculture positive rate(4.42%) was significantly lower than the positive rates of fluorescence quantitative PCR(x2=81.10,P<0.01) and direct smear method(x2=67.60,P<0.01).
Conclusion
The simple gonococci culture has high missed detection rate(>80%) in detecting male cases. Ensuring the quality of samples before analysis and detecting with two methods or above are the effective measures to improve the gonococci detection rate.

Sixty-four patients with Graves' diseases were divided into methimazole group ( n =30 ) and propylthiouracil group( n =34 ).20 healthy volunteers were used as the control group. The levels of interleukin (IL) -2,IL-6,and TSH receptor antibody (TRAb) were determined by ELISA after serum samples were eollected before treatment and after treatment for 3 and 6 months. The results showed that the general data of two groups were not significantly different before treatment.IL-2 and IL-6 levels at 6 months after treatment were significantly different from the baseline (P< 0.05 ),IL-2 being gradually increased while IL-6 decreased with time. The level of IL-6 in methimazole group was lower than that in propylthiouracil group after treatment for 6 months ( P< 0.05 ).There was no significant difference in TRAb levels between two groups before treatment while differences became significant at 3 and 6 months of treatment ( all P< 0.01 ),being gradually decreased with time. IL-2/IL-6 ratio became significantly greater at 3 and 6 months of treatment compared with that before treatment in the same treatment group( P<0.05 ) and the ratio in methimazole group was higher than that in propylthiouracil group by 6 months of treatment ( P<0.05 ).IL-6level was positively correlated with FT3 and FT4 levels, and IL-2 level was negatively correlated with FT3,FT4,and TRAb levels in GD patients before treatment. The correlations of IL-2 and IL-6 with FT3 and FT4 disappeared by 3 and 6 months of treatment.IL-2 and IL-6 levels were related with TRAb level before and after treatment in methimazole group. These results suggest that the immunosuppressive effect of methimazole is more evident than that of propylthiouracil in patients with Graves' disease.

8.Research progress on treatment of IgA nephropathy with Traditional Chinese Medicine therapeutic systems
International Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2022;44(3):352-355
The clinical treatment of IgA nephropathy in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) can be treated from theories of Sanjiao, pharynx and kidney, collateral disease and Shaoyang. The Sanjiao theory declaims to clear away damp heat through the whole process of treatment, the upper Jiao lightening the Qi, the middle Jiao clearing away damp heat, and the lower Jiao collecting astringency, strengthening the kidney and cooling blood. The theory of pharynx and kidney focuses on clearing away heat, detoxifying and making benefit of the pharynx, supplemented by tonifying the kidney and strengthening the spleen. In the treatment of collateral diseases, it is considered that the disease is caused by the external invasion of disease pathogens or the damage of the vein caused by the influence of evil Qi. The treatment should be combined with strengthening the right and eliminating evil, and paying attention to promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis. The disease is caused by pooring Qi mechanism of Sanjiao and evil invading Shaoyang. The above TCM systems showed different treatment, but they all improve symptoms, reduce urinary protein quantification, improve quality of life with less adverse events.

Chinese Journal of Lung Cancer 2010;13(2):128-131
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVEIt has been proven that telomerase activation correlates with the carcinogenesis, aggressiveness and turnover of lung cancer. Telomerase is one of the improtant molecular biomarkers for diagnosis and targeting therapy in lung cancer. The aim of this study is to investigate the diagnostic value of the combined determination of telomerase activity in induced sputum, pleural effusion and fiberobronchoscopic biopsy in lung cancer patients.
METHODSThe technique of TRAP (telomeric repeat amplification protocal)-PCR-ELISA was employed to detect telomease levels of induced sputum, pleural effusion and fiberobronchoscopic biopsy in 80 lung cancer patients with pleural effusion and 50 benign pulmonary disease patients with pleural effusion.
RESULTSTelomemse levels of induced sputum, pleural effusion and fiberobronchoscopic biopsy were all significantly higher in patients with lung cancer than those with benign pulmonary disease (P < 0.001). There was no significant difference in the level of telomerase activity between different pathologic types (P > 0.05). The sensitivity of induced sputum, pleural effusion and fiberobronchoscopic biopsy were 62.5% (50/80), 46.3% (37/80) and 60.0% (48/80), respectively. The specificity were 72.0% (36/50), 66.0% (33/50) and 70.0% (35/50), respectively. The overall accuracy were 66.2% (86/130), 53.8% (70/130) and 63.8% (83/130), respectively. The sensitivity, specificity and overall accuracy of combined induced sputum, pleural effusion and fiberobronchoscopic biopsy were 85.0% (68/80), 78.0% (39/50) and 82.3% (107/130), respectively. The sensitivity of telomease level in combined detection for diagnosis of lung cancer was much higher than that in single sample detection (P < 0.01).
CONCLUSIONThe sensitivity of telomease activity in combined three samples was the highest. It can further improve the accuracy for the diagnosis of lung cancer with pleural effusion.
