Objective: To investigate the effects of Kangguzhe Formula(KGZF) on promoting union of experimental rat fracture. Methods: The experimental rat fracture models were reproduced by cannon born injure, continually treated with KGZF 21d by oral administration. The X-ray,pathological histology and anti-fracture intension of fracture union tissue were detected to investigate the effects of KGZF.Results: KGZF can significantly improve the osteotylus rebuild, trabeculation of bone and concentrated osteoblasts of fracture tissue;X-ray detection also showed that it can increase the grade of X-ray and anti-fracture intension of fracture union tissue;Compared with model group,it had significant difference. Conclusion: KGZF can obviously improve the union of experimental rat fracture.

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of Gusongbao capsule for osteoporosis. Methods Experimental osteoporosis rat models were established by extirpation of bilateral ovaries of female rats. Bone morphological indexes, blood biochemical indexes, and daily output of calcium and phosphorus in urine in the Gusongbao treatment group and control group were determined. Results Compared with the control, the average width of bone trabecula, relative bone volume, average thickness of bone cortex, bone calcium, and the average gray degree of femoral head and femoral shaft were high, and the serum calcitonin (CT) and blood calcium increased markedly in the treatment group. High-dose and moderate-dose Gusongbao increased number of osteocytes in per unit area of bone trabecula, decreased serum alkaline phosphatase (ALP) level and reduced the daily output of urine calcium. Conclusion Gusongbao capsule can obviously inhibit the excessive bone transformation and promote the re-construction of bone and exerts an antagonistic effect on osteoporosis in ovariectomized rats.

Objective To observe the anti-osteoporosis effect of Gusongbao capsule (GC).Methods Osteoporosis rat models were induced by gastric infusion of vitamin A acid at a dose of 70 mg/kg for 14 days. The bone morphological and blood biochemical indexes and the amount of calcium and phosphorus in urine excreted every day were determined in both treatment group (treated with Gusongbao) and model control group. Results In the treatment group, the average width of bone trabecula, relative bone volume, average thickness of bone cortex, bone calcium, cell number in per unit area of bone trabecula, and the average gray degree of caput femoris and femoral shaft were higher than those in the moderate group. High dose (0.8 g/kg) and middle dose (0.4 g/kg) of GC increased bone phosphorus level and decreased urine calcium level markedly and high dose of GC also increased serum level of CT (P

Taenia pisiformis is one of the most important parasites of canines and rabbits. T. pisiformis cysticercus (the larval stage) causes severe damage to rabbit breeding, which results in huge economic losses. In this study, the genetic variation of T. pisiformis was determined in Sichuan Province, China. Fragments of the mitochondrial cytochrome b (cytb) (922 bp) gene were amplified in 53 isolates from 8 regions of T. pisiformis. Overall, 12 haplotypes were found in these 53 cytb sequences. Molecular genetic variations showed 98.4% genetic variation derived from intra-region. F(ST) and Nm values suggested that 53 isolates were not genetically differentiated and had low levels of genetic diversity. Neutrality indices of the cytb sequences showed the evolution of T. pisiformis followed a neutral mode. Phylogenetic analysis revealed no correlation between phylogeny and geographic distribution. These findings indicate that 53 isolates of T. pisiformis keep a low genetic variation, which provide useful knowledge for monitoring changes in parasite populations for future control strategies.
