Objective To understand the status and administration of Young Scholar Scientific Research Program at China CDC,to analyze the program functioning and raised problems,as well as further discuss administrative strategies internally at institutional level. Methods To review and analyze the archived documents and data materials of Young Scholar Scientific Research Program at China CDC.Results Department of Science and Technology is responsible for the daily management of Young Scholar Scientific Program. The research fields of these projects mainly focused on public health and infectious disease.75 two-year period projects are funded and 55 have been completed so far.Accumulated subsidy amount is up to 6.68 million RMB.146 papers have been published, among which 57 English papers have been published (47 were in SCI journals). And 5 patents were granted. Conclusions The establishment of the Young Scholar Scientific Program has empowered the young fellows for conducting scientific research independently. On the other hand, this program also strengthened technical support for disease prevention and control. It is proposed to go on strengthen the scientific management and further establishing academic communication plat form for young fellows.

Objective This paper aimes to analyze the scientific research development trend, research emphasis and cooperation situation of Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention since its establishment,to provide the suggestions for policy making of scientific management and related decisions. Methods Based on GoPubMed,Literature quantitative analysis was used to analyze the publication time and journal distribution, research topics and core authors of the scientific papers from 2002 to 2015.Results A total number of 4 501 research papers had been published in 576 different kinds of periodicals.Research topics were based on population health with special focus on the epidemiological, microbiological and etiological studies of infectious disease.Chronic non-communicable disease and health research were paying more and more attention to.Core author group and the core research team have been formed. Conclusions The capability to conduct scientific research was increased and the international influence was increasing year by year, the ability of infectious disease control was strengthened, and the scientific research team worked together more closely. Thus, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention should reinforce scientific management, develop advanced disciplines,as well as improve the quality of scientific research in the future.

Objective To investigate the clinical outcomes of intertrochanteric fracture by the fixation using proximal femoral nail (PFN/PFNA).Methods From Jan.2008 to Dec.2010,56 cases with intertrochanteric fracture, including 18 males and 38 females with an average age of 76 years (range,67 -94 ),were treated by fixation with PFN or PFNA.All patients had closed fractures in the shaft of femur. The average time from injury to operation was 3.2 days (ranging from 2.0 days to 10.0 days). All the patients were followed for 1,2,3,6,12 month after surgery, respectively, and then at least once per year. The clinical outcomes were evaluated according to Harris criteria and radiological examinations. Results The mean operating time of all cases was 55 minutes ( ranging from 40 to 80 minutes),and the mean blood loss during surgery was 80 ml (range,50 - 150 ml).All patients was able to walk with walking aid 3 -7 days after surgery. All the patients with fracture healed after 3.5 - 6.0 months ( mean:4 months ).No complications such as infection, lower limb vein infarction,cut-out or breakage of the implants occurred.Four cases had coxa vara shortening deformation,According to Harris criteria, the clinical results were excellent in 43 cases, good in 9,and moderate in 4,with the rate of patients in excellent and good condition was 92.86% (52/56).Conclusion PFN/PFNA is an effective and minimally invasive method for intertrochanteric fracture, with minimal invasion, high fixation-strength and optimal biomechanics characteristics. This treatment technique produces a high rate of bone re-union,early functional recovery and less complications.

Objective To research CpG and Al(OH)3 adjuvants enhancing immunogenicity of hepatitis C virus(HCV) recombinant ptotein combined vaccine(TIE).Methods BALB/c mice were immunized with candidate vaccine TFE using CpG,Al(OH)3,Al(OH) 3 + CpG,or freund's adjuvant(FA) as the adjuvant.Five mice were sacrificed after 10 d of the last immunization.Specific antibodies in sera were tested by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Splenic cells were isolated and levels of IFN-γ,IL-4 and cytotoxic T lymphocyte(CTL) cytotoxicity assay were messuredin vitro. The remaining mice were subcutaneouly injected with 1 × 106 SP2/0-NS3 cells on the back to investigate the protective effects. The differences of means between groups were compared by LSD-t test. Results The specific CTL activity of TFE + A1(OH) 3 + CpG group was higher than TFE + FA group and TFE + CpG group(P < 0.05).The level of IFN-γsecreting cells in TFE + Al(OH)3 + CpG group was higher than that in TFE + M(OH)3 group or TFE + CpG group(P < 0.05).Conclusion Combining Al(OH) 3 and CpG could enhance specific cellular immunogenicity of candidate HCV vaccine TFE.TFE + M(OH) 3 + CpG could effetively prevent the attack of tumor cell SP2/0-NS3 expressing nonstructural protein NS3 of HCV.

OBJECTIVE:
To introduce a new method of complete remaining parotid fascia in parotidectomy, preventing Frey's syndrome.
METHOD:
Thirty-five patients with benign tumor in the parotid gland were treated by remaining parotid fascia. All 35 patients were followed up after 6 months to 24 months.
RESULT:
The parotid fasciae of 26 out of 35 were remained completely and none of these 26 patients developed Frey's syndrome. The parotid fasciae of 9 out of 35 were excised partly and Frey's syndrome occurred in 2 of these 9 patients. There was significant difference of Frey's syndrome between the parotid fasciae being remained completely and the parotid fasciae being remained partly.
CONCLUSION
The parotid fascia could be reserved completely in parotidectomy. The complete parotid fascia could prevent Frey's syndrome in the patients after undergoing parotidectomy.
