2.Clinical Study on Treatment of Biliary Colic with Midnight-Noon Ebb-Flow Day-Prescription of Acupoints

Objective: To observe the clinical effect of midnight-noon ebb-flow day-prescription of acupoints on biliary colic. Methods: 60 cases with biliary colic were randomized into two groups, 30 cases in each group. Day-prescription of five transport points was employed in the treatment group, while point selection based on pattern identification was employed in the control group. Results: The pain-killing rates between the two groups had no statistical differences (P>0.05). Conclusion: Day-prescription of acupoints can obtain similar pain-killing effect with point selection based on pattern identification, but with less points and treatments.
3.Fusing ZAP to HIV RNA Binding Proteins to Inhibit HIV

The zinc finger antiviral protein (ZAP) specifically inhibits the replication of Moloney murine leukemia virus (MLV) and Sindbis virus (SIN), but has very modest inhibitory effect on HIV. Previous studies suggest that ZAP directly binds to the viral RNA and recruit the RNA degradation machinery to degrade the target RNA. The HIV-1 Tat and Rev are regulatory proteins which bind to HIV RNA. Tat and Rev were fused with ZAP in various manners. Two fusion proteins, ZAP-Tat and ZAP-Rev were found to be able to inhibit the expression HIV-1 vector.
4.The diagnostic value of three-dimensional ultrasound for identification of benign and malignant gastric ulcer

Objective To investigate the value of three-dimension (3D) ultrasound in identification of benign or malignant gastric ulceration. Methods A total of 88 patients with gastric ulcer were collected in Tianjin Nankai Hospital from March 2014 to May 2015, including 36 malignant cases and 52 benign cases confirmed by pathological results. Results of 2D ultrasound, 3D ultrasound and gastroscope diagnosis were compared, and the diagnostic values of the three methods were evaluated by the gold standard of pathologic results. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were plotted for the main measurement indicators (ulcer surface width, ulcer surface depth and thickness of stomach wall) of 3D ultrasound. The best cut-off value was determined. Results The positive rate of malignant gastric ulcer diagnosed by 3D ultrasound was significantly higher than that of 2D ultrasound (P=0.002), but there was no significant difference between 3D ultrasound and gastroscope detection (P=0.453). The diagnostic sensitivities of malignant gastric ulcer were 86.11%, 58.33%and 91.67%for 3D ultrasound, 2D ultrasound and gastroscope detection respectively. The diagnostic specificities were 100%, 100%and 96.15% respectively. The areas under the ROC curves measured by 3D ultrasound were 0.750, 0.940 and 0.977 for ulcer surface width, ulcer surface depth and thickness of stomach wall. And the best cut-off values of the three indicators were 16.55 mm, 8.05 mm and 9.90 mm. Conclusion The 3D ultrasound can show the form and structure of gastric ulcer more clearly and intuitively, which is valuable for the differential diagnosis of benign gastric ulcer and malignant gastric ulcer, and may be used for screening malignant gastric ulcer.
5.Comparative Study of Effects of Spleen-strengthening Recipes on Water-Electrolyte Metabolism and Water Transport in Rats with Spleen-deficiency Syndrome

Objective To compare the effects of different spleen-strengthening recipes on water-electrolyte metabolism and water transport in rat model of spleen-deficiency syndrome. Methods The male Wistar rats were randomly assigned into the normal group and spleen-deficiency model group. The rat model of spleen-deficiency was established by overstrain plus disordered diet method. On the 15th modeling day, the model rats were randomly assigned into model group , Buzhong Yiqi Tang(BYT) group, Si Junzi Tang(SJT) group, Shenling Baizhu San(SBS) group, and the rats except for the model group were treated with gastric gavage of the corresponding medicine in the dosage of 4.05 g·kg-1·d-1. Rats of normal group and model group were given equal volume of normal saline. The medication lasted for 14 days. On the 29th experimental day, we detected serum Na+ and K+, plasma antidiuretic hormone(ADH) and aldosterone(ALD), aquaporin 3(AQP3) in the small intestine and colon, and renal AQP2. Results Compared with the normal group, plasma ADH and ALD levels, serum Na+ level, renal AQP2 content in the model rats were increased significantly, serum K+ and AQP3 content of small intestine and colon mucosa was decreased significantly(P<0.01). Compared with the model group, plasma ADH and ALD levels, serum Na+ level, renal AQP2 content in the three medication groups were decreased significantly, serum K+level and AQP3 in the small intestine and descending colon mucosa was increased significantly(P<0.05 or P<0.01). Of the three medication groups, SBS group had lower ADH, ALD, Na+levels, and higher serum K+level and AQP3 in the small intestine and descending colon mucosa than BYT group and SJT group(P<0.01); SBS group and BYT group had lower renal AQP2 than SJT group(P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusion Rat model with spleen-deficiency syndrome has disordered water-electrolyte metabolism and abnormal water transport. The spleen-strengthening recipes, which have the actions of strengthening spleen, strengthening spleen to drain dampness, strengthening spleen to elevate yang, can improve the disorder of water metabolism to some degrees, and SBS has the best effect.

7.Relationship between platelet-leukocyte aggregates and serum high sensitive-C reactive protein in type 2 diabetic patients with retinopathy

To investigate the relationship between platelet-leukocyte aggregates (PLA) and serum high sensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP)in type 2 diabetic patients with retinopathy (DR).The blood levels of platelet-neutrophil aggregates( PNA )and platelet-monocyte aggregates ( PMA ) were determined by flow cytometry and serum hs-CRP by ELISA in 30 patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy( PDR group),30 patients with no-proliferative diabetic retinopathy( NPDR group),25 diabetic patients without DR( DM group),and 30 normal controls.The levels of PNA,PMA,and hs-CRP in PDR group were significantly higher than those in normal control,NPDR,and DM groups.The levels of PNA,PMA,and hs-CRP in NPDR group were significantly higher than those in normal control and DM group( P<0.01 or P<0.05 ).The PNA and PMA were correlated positively with hs-CRP in patients with DR ( r =0.587,0.576 ; P < 0.05 ).The data showed that the levels of PLA and hs-CRP were raised significantly in patients with DR,and the levels of PLA were positively correlated with inflammatory response and the seriousness of DR,suggesting that these findings may play an important role in the development of DR.
8.Effect of microwave-assisted extraction on flavone constituents of Pollen Tyhae micropowder

AIM: To investigate the influence of microwave-assisted extraction on flavone contents of Pollen Tyhae micropowder. METHODS: Ultraviolet spectrophotometer and HPLC were applied to analyze Pollen Tyhae micropowder, total flavon and isorhamnetin-3-O-neohespridoside were adopted as the marker, respectively. RESULTS: Appropriate conditions of microwave-assisted extraction included: extraction time of 8min, ethanol concentration of 70%, Solid/liquid ratio of 1∶18 (g?mL -1) and the power of microwave oven of 540w. CONCLUSION: Compared with normal reflux method, microwave-assisted extraction of Pollen Typhae micropowder is more useful and can improve the extraction rate the reduce the extracting time.
9.A Survey on Burn Infection

A total of 226 strains of organisms was isolated from the cultures of the subeschar unburnt tissues of the burn patients admitted to this institute in the period from April 1980 to April 1982. Among the organisms, gram-negative bacilli exceeded gram-positive cocci in number. The frequently seen gram-negative bacilli, in the order of frequency, were Pseudomonas, Serratia, Klebsialla, and E. coli. And the frequently seen gram-positive cocci were Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus albus, Streptococcus fecalis, and Streptococcus hemolyticus.The quantitative culture of the biopsy specimen showed its value in our clinical application. In cases of multiple infections, after the identification and precise count of the bacterial colonies on the cultures were done, the percentage of the various organisms could be obtained and the main pathogen was revealed.It was pointed out that ordinary culture media were only favorable for rapid growth of bacteria but the existence of fungi was usually masked. A. modified method of fungus culture, tissue thread culture, was used for the early diagnosis of fungus infection. 38 specimens were studied simultaneously with three methods. The positive rate for fungus was 8% in ordinary cultures, 26% in his-tologic examinations, and 61% in tissue thread cultures.Anaerobic culture was performed for 102 swab specimens from the burn wounds and a positive rate of 14.7% was obtained. In addition, anaerobic blood culture was performed in 10 cases of severe burns with 2 positive cultures. It is suggested that anaerobic infections should not be neglected in burns.
10.Proliferation inhibition induced by Nimesulide through PPARγpathway in human colon cancer cell

Objective To study PPARγ inhibitor(GW9662) ,on colon cancer SW480 cell proliferation and apoptosis intervened by Nimesulide(N) in vitro ,in order to investigate the role of PPARγpathway in colon cancer cell proliferation inhibition and apop‐tosis promotion induced by Nimesulide .Methods Cells were divided into 4 groups ,namely :the control group ,GW9662 group (GW9662 0 .1 ,0 .5 ,1 .0 ,5 .0μmol/L) ,N group ,GW9662+N group .MTT assay and FCM were used to determine proliferation ,ap‐optosis and cell cycle of SW480 cells .And the expression of PPARγ,p21Waf1 ,p27Kip1 ,Bcl‐2 ,Bax ,VEGF proteins were measured by Western‐blot .Results N inhibited SW480 cells proliferation in a time‐dependent manner (P< 0 .01) .During a special range , GW9662 attenuated effect of nimesulide inhibiting SW480 cells proliferation in a dose‐and time‐dependent manner .The results of FCM showed :the apoptosis rates of SW480 cells had no statistical change between GW9662 group and control group(P>0 .05) . Cell apoptosis rate of group N increased significantly ,compared with control group(P<0 .01) .The apoptosis rates of SW480 cells incubated with Nimesulide and GW9662 dropped significantly compared with Nimesulide alone (P<0 .01) .Above results showed that GW9662 could attenuate the effect of nimesulide on cell apoptosis and cell cycle .The results of Western‐blot :Compared with the control group ,the expression of PPARγ,p21Waf1 ,p27Kip1 ,Bax protein were up‐regulated significantly in nimesulide group(P<0 .05 or P<0 .01) ,but Bcl‐2 and VEGF were down‐regulated significantly(P<0 .01) .Compared with the nimesulide group ,the expres‐sion of PPARγ,p21Waf1 , p27Kip1 and Bax protein were down‐regulated obviously in GW9662+N group(P<0 .05 or P<0 .01) .Corre‐spondingly ,Bcl‐2 and VEGF were up‐regulated obviously(P<0 .05) .Conclusion N could effectively inhibit SW480 cell prolifera‐tion and induce its apoptosis .PPARγpathway may play an important role in proliferation inhibition and apoptosis induced by Nime‐sulide in colon cancer cell .
