Based on the high-dimension chaos characteristics of electroencephalogram(EEG) and the analysis by the multi-variable state space reconstruction, better estimation of the correlative dimension can be obtained by dividing the brain into two parts and using eight EEG channels as the reconstruction samples.Lorenz system was firstly tested by request of the amount of data to test the feasibility of the algorithms. After Comparing the high-dimension data of the EEG of epileptic patients with the results of control subjects,it is indicated that the multi-variable state space reconstruction is applicable in short time noise-containing time sequences to obtain reliable results and can free the researchers from the hard choice of delay time and embedding dimension.

To increase detection sensitivity and specificity on hepatitis C virus (HCV) is vital for prevention and controlling of the disease. To establish a more reliable detection method for HCV diagnosis, the full gene fragment of ns3 (non-structural protein of HCV) from recombinant plasmid of J6/JFH1 2a was amplified and then connected into the pET-28a prokaryotic expression vector, and the latter was subsequently transformed into Escherichia coli BL21 (DE3) to have the target protein expression. As a result, a protein with a molecular weight of 72 kDa was obtained and visualized in 10% SDS-PAGE. The purified NS3 protein was used as immunogen to inoculate BALB/c mice and the sera was collected after the fourth immunization. The antibody titer of serum is determined to be about 1:256000 with ELISA. Western blotting and indirect immunofluorescence analysis showed that the mouse polyclonal antibody could react specifically with the native NS3 protein in Huh 7.5.1 cells infected with HCV. These findings may provide basis for further preparation of monoclonal antibodies against NS3 and the development of related detection kit.

Objective To explore the advantages and disadvantages of laparoscopic combined with colonoscopic surgery (double endoscope surgery) and open surgery in the treatment of special types of colorectal polyps. Methods The clinical data of 62 patients with special types of colorectal polyps (wide base sessile, special parts or suspected cancerous, endoscopic resection difficult or high risk) were retrospectively analyzed. Among them, 42 patients underwent double endoscope surgery (double endoscope group), and 20 patients underwent open surgery (open group). The operating time, amount of bleeding during operation, postoperative exhaust time, postoperative hospital stay and complication rate were compared between 2 groups. Results All the patients had successful resection of the polyps, and there were no operative deaths. There was no conversion to open surgery in double endoscope group. Two patients in the open group were unable to locate the lesion by the tactile sensation of the hand and then succeeded in locating by intraoperative colonoscopy. The operating time, amount of bleeding during operation, postoperative exhaust time, postoperative hospital stay and complication rate in double endoscope group were significantly lower than those in open group: (60.5 ± 25.4) min vs. (75.8 ± 20.6) min, (30.5 ± 15.8) ml vs. (55.2 ± 24.6) ml, (24.6 ± 10.5) h vs. (40.5 ± 16.8) h, (3.2 ± 1.0) d vs. (5.8 ± 2.2) d and 0 vs. 20% (4/20), and there were statistical differences (P<0.05). There was 1 case with early postoperative inflammatory bowel obstruction, 1 case with abdominal infection and 2 cases with incision infection in open group. There was no operative death in the two groups, and these patients were cured by conservative treatment. The follow-up time was 3-36 (18.6 ± 12.3) months, and all the patients survived. The patients in 2 groups had no recurrence and metastasis, no anastomotic stenosis, anastomotic leakage and other complications. Conclusions For the special types of colorectal polyps, double endoscope surgery is less invasive, with faster recovery and less complications. It is the first choice except for endoscopic resection.

Chinese Journal of Radiation Oncology 2017;26(2):203-209
Objective To study the dosimetric characteristics of flattened and flattening filter free (FFF) beams with 6 MV and 10 MV photon energy using a novel dual-energy medical linear accelerator (Elekta Versa HDTM),to identify the dosimetric characteristics and advantages of FFF beams, and to provide a basis for their clinical application. Methods The percentage depth dose (PDD),profiles/dose rate of off-axis ratio (OAR),field size, penumbral width, dose out of the fields, collimator scatter factor (Sc),and total scatter factor (Sc,p) were compared between flattened and FFF beams. Results (1) After beam energy matching, the FFF beams had the same beam energy with the flattened beams. The matching error of PDD at a depth of 10 cm was less than 1% between fields.(2) The FFF beams had a smaller variation in dose rate of OAR with the depth than the flattened beams.(3) The FFF beams had smaller variations in field size and penumbral width than the flattened beams. Moreover, the penumbral width of the FFF beams increased with the increasing field size or depth. The FFF beams had a lower dose out of the fields than the flattened beams.(4) The FFF beams had smaller variations in Sc and Sc,p with the field size and depth than the flattened beams. Conclusions Removal of the flattening filter can substantially improve the dose rate, shorten radiotherapy time, and reduce leakage and scattering of the head. The dosimetric advantages make the FFF beams appropriate for clinical treatment.
