1.Possible etiologies of cryptogenic stroke in young adults
International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2016;24(7):647-650
Cerebrovascular disease is currently one of the major diseases that result in the deaths of human. Its incidence elevates year by year, and there is a trend of younger.Stroke in young adult accounts for 25% ~ 33% in all stroke patients.Once a young man has a stroke, his quality of life will drop dramatically, and it will also bring a heavy burden to the family and society. Therefore, the etiologies of stroke in young adults should be summarized in order to achieve early diagnosis and early treatment. It is very important for improving of their prognoses.Cryptogenic stroke accounts for about 30% in all strokes. The possible etiologies of cryptogenic stroke in young adults include heart diseases, arthritis, artery dissection, obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, and drug abuse, etc.

Objective To analyze monitoring data on congenital heart disease (CHD) in Shenzhen city from 2009 to 2013.Methods This study described epidemiological characteristics of perinatal CHD.Patients with CHD were divided into isolated CHD group and complex CHD group (the patients were found with malformations of other systems). The prognosis, social and demographic characteristics, and complications of pregnancy were analyzed. Results The average incidence rate of CHD was 7.25‰,of which 94.36% were diagnosed by ultrasound,of which 33.20% were diagnosed before delivery. The top three cardiovascular abnormalities were patent ductus arteriosus, patent foramen ovale, and ventricular septal defect. There were about 14.11% of CHD with other system malformations, mainly including musculoskeletal system, facial features, and nervous system.Compared isolated cardiac malformations and complex cardiacmalformations, significant differences were found in the age stratification, culture degree, prognosis, diagnosis time, incidence rate of complication of pregnancy, and childbirth complications rate (P <0.01).Conclusions Most CHDs were diagnosed by ultrasound.Simple cardiovascular malformation was common, especially CHD with two or more types of cardiovascular malformations. The incidence rate of CHD in 30 to 40-year-old women, stillbirth rate, incidence of prenatal diagnostic rate were significantly higher than the simple CHD group.

Objective To explore the value of bone marrow biopsy ( BMB) in early diagnosis of aggressive NK cell leukaemia( ANKL). Methods The clinical data of ten cases with ANKL were retrospectively analyzed, morphology, immunophenotype and hybridization in situ of bone marrow were analyzed. Results In all cases, BMB showed hypercellular, with 4 cases markedly hypercellular. Atypical neoplastic cells demonstrated focal and fascicle growth pattern and were composed of median-sized cells with a few cytoplasm, slightly irregular nuclei, fine chromatin, indistinct nucleoli and some mitotic counting. Characteristic histocytes with haemophagocytosis were observed in the bone marrow slides. The neoplastic cells were positive for CD2、CD3e、CD7、CD56、TIA-1. EBER was found positive in all cases. Conclusion Bone marrow biopsy and immunochemistry were essential and reliable diagnostic tool in early diagnosis of ANKL.

2-Keto-L-gulonic acid (2-KLG), the precurcor of L-ascorbic acid synthesis, was prepared directly from D-glucose by tandem fermentation. In the first step fermentation Erwinia sp. SCB 247 translated D-glucose to 2,5-diketo-D-gluconate (2,5-DKG), which accumenlated 180 mg 2,5-DKG per ml in the broth. In the second step fermentation Corynebacterium sp. SCB 3058 reduced 2,5-DKG to 2-KLG, which accumulated 35 mg 2-KLG per ml in the broth. This reductive fermentation was obtained under aerobic conditions by adding a hydrogen donor such as glucose. The average yield of five batches fermentation was 56.3 mol%, from D-glucose to 2-KLG in 10 L fermentor.
