Objective To investigate whether fluoxetine has therapeutic effect of clinical score and brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) expression in serum of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE)model. Methods Rats were randomly divided into solvent control group (n=6) ,model control group ( n= 10)and fluoxetine group ( n= 10). The EAE model was prepared by injecting guinea pig spinal cord homogenate subcutaneously. The clinical score was daily measured according to the sign and symptoms of rats in the behavior examination. The serum BDNF level was measured by EL1SA. Results 1. Except for the solvent control group,the first sign of EAE(Piloerection) was detected on 4th day after immunization of rats from both model control group and fluoxetine group,then EAE rats had distal tail weakness on 8th day, and gradually developed into completely tail paralysis and limb paralysis. EAE rats' clinical score reached the peak on 16th day after immunization. 2. The clinical score of fluoxetine group became scientifically lower than model group since 18th day after immunization ( Fluoxetine group :3.27 ± 0. 33; Model control group :4.66 ± 0. 55, P ＜ 0. 05 ). 3. Compared with the model control group,fluoxetine did not significantly increase the expression of serum BDNF in EAE model ( Fluoxetine group:62.27 ± 0.43; Model control group :61.67 ± 0.85, P ＞ 0.05 ). Conclusion Fluoxetine reduced the clinical score of EAE since 18th day after immunization,which indicates fluoxetine could promote the recovery of neurological function in EAE rats. BDNF may not contribute to protective effect of fluoxetine in EAE animal.

Objective Discussing the clinical features, early diagnosis and therapeutic methods of aortic dissection (AD). Methods We analyzed and concluded the clinical datum of 33 AD patients in our hospital. Results The rate of male to female was 5.6 to 1 among all patients, average age 60, hypertension accounted for 81.8 percent. There were 26 patients (78.8 percent) suffered an acute pain, of who 22 patients got a pain in anterior chest.There were 22 of 26 patients diagnosed AD through echocardiography, 20 and 11 patients confirmed AD by MRI or CT respectively among all 33 patients. 13 patients had abnormal ECG, 10 ST-T segment changed, 12 left ventricular hypertrophy or hyper-voltage. Hypertension patients were treated through a infusion of nitroglycerin or nitroprusside by intervenous drop or by vein pump firstly to decend systolic blood pressure to the level of 100~120 mmHg and heart rate to 60~70 bpm,combining with the use of beta blocker, calcium antagonist and rennin- angiotensin inhibitor. 27 patients’ pain alleviated gradually even disappeared after controling their blood pressure, whose state of illness became to stable. 2 persons did the operation of aortic replacement in emergency. 6 persons died for aortic dissection broken in one week or one month. Conclusions The clinical manifestations of AD are complex, and the rate of false or leak diagnosis is high. Radiology studies including echocardiography, MRI or CT may be very important to enhance the ability of diagnosing AD early and to guide the treatment. Taking medical treatment is primary in emergency. Operating the replacement of aorta is an effective measure to treat AD.

Objective To evaluate the palliative effect on pain relief in patients with multiple bone metastases treated with 89SrCl2 together with Sodium Ibandronate,Sodium Ibandronate alone and 89SrCl2 alone. Methods Eighty-four patients with bone pain secondary to bone metastases were divided into three groups. Thirty patients were treated with combined 89SrCl2 and Sodium Ibandronate,26 with 89SrCl2 alone and 28 with Sodium Ibandronate alone. The x2 test was used in data analysis. Results The overall palliative pain relief rate in the combined treatment group was 96.6 % (29/30). For the groups using Sodium Ibandronate or 89SrCl2 only,the palliative rates were 71.4% (20/28) and 73.1% (19/26),respectively. There are statistically significant differences between the combined treatment group and the other 2 groups with single treatment modalities in the overall palliative pain relief rate (x2 = 7.497 ),in terms of improvement in (1) whole body Karnofsky performance status (KPS) score (80.0% (24/30) vs 50.0% (14/28)/53.8% (14/26),x2 =35.476) and (2) focal palliative rate (47.6% (50/105) vs 11.2% (11/98)/22.2% (20/90),x2 =6. 564,all P ＜ 0. 05 ). Conclusions Combined treatment with 89 SrCl2 and Sodium Ibandronate is more effective than single treatment modalities to relieve bone pain seccondary to multiple bone metastases.

?ln recent years, the number of patients with diabetes increase rapidly. Diabetic retinopathy ( DR ) , one of the complications of diabetes, is also the important aspect of current and future prevention of blindness in our country. Now, more and more scholar have noticed the important role of immune inflammation in the pathogenesis of diabetic retinopathy. ln this article, we reviewed the role of interleukin-6 ( lL-6 ) in diabetic retinopathy.

Objective To evaluate the prognostic value of fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) standardized uptake value (SUV) of positron emission tomography (PET) before radiotherapy in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) treated with three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy (3DCRT). Methods Seventy-three patients with stage Ⅲ NSCLC underwent PET to calculate SUV within 2 weeks before 3DCRT. The a-nalysis was carried out after the irradiation of 60 -66 Gy. The possible prognostic factors were assessed by Cox proportional hazards model. Results The mean SUV for squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma and others were 16.94, 14.40 and 6.33, respectively (F = 0. 51, P = 0. 604). The mean SUV for tumor volume less than and more than 50 cm~3 was 13.81 and 20.18 (F = 7.54, P = 0. 008). In the univariate analysis, a cutoff SUV of 17 and chemotherapy were correlated with the prognosis. In the multivariate analysis, SUV was the only independent prognostic factor (relative risk = 2.61). Conclusions SUV is a prognostic factor in patients with NSCLC treated by 3DCRT, which deserves further studies.

Objective To explore the effect of tonifying kidney with traditional Chinese medicine together with estradiol valerate and clomiphene citrate on serum leptin levels in patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome. Method Two hundred and eight patients with PCOS were randomly divided into observation group (n=104) and control group (n=104). Patients in control group and observation group took estradiol valerate and clomiphene citrate, while patients in observation group took Shiying Minlin soup for three months. Crinosity, body temperature, acne&Skin diseases, and menoxenia were recorded; Leptin (LP) and five hormone including follicle stimulating hormone (FSH),luteinizing hormone (LH), prolactin (PRL), estradiol (E 2) and testosterone (T) are determined using euzymelinked immunosorbent assay. Results Crinosity, body temperature, acne&Skin diseases, and menoxenia were improved;the level of FSH, LH, PRL, E 2, T in both observation and control group decreased and the content in observation group are high than that in control group, while LH,T and E 2 are lower. Conclusion Treatment with tonifying kidney with traditional Chinese medicine on polycystic ovarian syndrome can decrease the level of FSH, LH, PRL, E 2, T and LP. Compared with western medicine, tonifying kidney with traditional Chinese medicine showed advantage in the terms of treatment on polycystic ovarian syndrome.
