Chinese Mental Health Journal 2001;15(3):205-207
Objective: To investigate the relationship between academic achievements of high school students and the results of California Psychological Inventory (CPI) of them. Method: Seventy-one higher school students were tested by CPI-RC (revised Chinese version). Their academic achievements were recorded. Results: Nine of the 23 CPI traits, such as Re (responsibility), So (socialize), Wb (comfortable), Ac (achievement), Py (psychologized), Cm (communality), To (tolerance), Sc (self-control), V3 (self accomplishment) had significant correlation with academic achievements (r=0.24~0.33, p<0.05). Students with different prefer (literal arts or science) showed different CPI traits. Students with better academic achievements had higher scores on So, Sc, Wb, To and V3. Conclusion: CPI traits have some relationship to academic achievements of high school students and to their academic preference.

The experiment was conducted to examine the effect of copper toxicity on the peripheral blood T-lymphocyte using the flow cytometry(FCM) and ANAE.180 one-day-old Avian broilers were divided randomly into three groups, and fed diets as follows:(1)Controls(Cu 11.97 mg/kg diet) and (2)copper toxic(Cu 650 mg/kg diet, copper toxic group Ⅰ;Cu 850 mg/kg diet, copper toxic group Ⅱ) for six weeks. The ANAE positive ratios of the peripheral blood T-lymphocytes were much lower in the two copper toxic groups than in control group from 1 to 6 weeks of age(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Also,there was significant difference between copper toxic groups Ⅰ and Ⅱ at 1,3,5 and 6 weeks of age(P<0.05 or P<0.01).CD+4 T cell numbers reduced from 2 to 6 weeks of age in both copper toxic group Ⅰ and copper toxic group Ⅱ as compared with those of control group(P<0.05 or P<0.01).At the same time, there was significant difference between copper toxic groups Ⅰ and Ⅱ at 6 weeks of age(P<0.05).But the numbers of CD+8 T cell were not varied from 2 to 6 weeks of age in copper toxic groups Ⅰ and Ⅱ in comparison with those of control group(P>0.05).The CD+4/CD+8 ratio was lower from 2 to 6 weeks of age in copper toxic groups Ⅰ and Ⅱ than in control group. The results showed that copper toxicity could suppress the development of T-lymphocytes and reduce the peripheral blood T-lymphocyte populations.Potential mechanisms underlying these observations are also discussed.

Objective To investigate the expression and significance of BCAR1 protein in endometrial carcinoma. Methods The level of BCAR1 was measured by immunohistochemistry in 50 endometrial carcinoma samples and 30 normal proliferative endometrium samples.Estrogen receptor (ER) and progesterone receptor (PR) expression was investigated in endometrial carcinoma samples. Results The level of BCAR1 was higher in endometrial carcinoma than that in normal proliferative endometrium (64.0% (32/50) vs.40.0% (12/30) ;x2 =4.364,P =0.037).In endometrial cancer, increased BCAR1 expression was significantly correlated with relatively higher age, poor differentiation, positive expression of ER (x2 =6.272,r =0.354 ; x2 =5.640,r =0.366 and x2 =4.217,r =0.290 ; P < 0.05).Conclusion BCAR1 promote carcinogenesis and positively correlate with poor differentiation and ER status in endometrial carcinoma.

Objective To study the effect of implanted stent or selected operation in patients with acute occlusion of right coronary artery during the emergency coronary arteriongraphy. Methods Forty-three patients with acute occlusion of right coronary artery who underwent the emergency coronary arteriongraphy were divided into two groups: the implanted stent group ( n = 23) during the emergency coronary arteriongraphy and the selected operation group (n =20) during the emergency coronary arteriongraphy . Then we observed the general data, the coronary artery pathological changes, preoperative and postoperative thrombus, the blood flow, remained stenosis and the prognosis. Results The implanted stent group was similar to the control group in general condition, but implanted stent group was significantly different from the control group in the near, intermediate and distal coronary artery pathological changes ( <0.05) . The control group was significantly different from the implanted stent group in the thrombus and slowly blood flow ( <0.05) . After three months, we reviewed coronary arteriongraphy and selected operation, The implanted stent group was significantly different from the control in the remained stenosis and slowly blood flow (<0.05) . But the implanted stent group was similar to the control groug in the thrombus and new proceeding cardiovascular events. Conclusion When thrombus appears in acute occlusion of right coronary artery, we can implant stent during the emergency coronary arteriongraphy if the thrombus is little, or we can select operation after PTCA on the contrary.

Objective To discusse the mechanism and clinical significance of bradycardia -hypotension phenomenon which is caused by vagal reflex during and after the RFCA and present the experience of using appropriate measures to decrease the incidence of this situation. Methods The patients who were suffering from tachyarrhythmias and treated by RFCA were divided into two groups. The groups were as follows:148 patients who were not taken special measures in the early stage were selected in control group;1 540 patients who were taken measures to prevent vasovagal reflex were selected in observation group. Result During the RFCA, the incidence of bradycardia -hypotension phenomenon in control group was 13.5% (20/148), the incidence of bradycardia-hypotension phenomenon in observation group was 5.0%(77/1540) (<0.01) .Conclusions The incidence of bradycardia-hypotension phenomenon caused by vagal reflex during the RFCA is related to catheter irritation to the heart, pressure on the vessels and hypovolemia. The incidence of this phenomenon can be decreased obviously by some measures, such as non-restricted diet before RFCA,discretion rehydration during and after the RFCA and hemostasis with appropriate force after extubation. The key to rescue patients successfully are early detection and timely processing.

Objective To explore the mechanism of tripterygium wilfordii hook f(TWHF)for Henoch-Schonlein purpura nephritis(HSPN,nephrotic type)in children. Methods All the children with HSPN(nephrotic type)were divided into 3 groups casually.Method of radioactive pairs conjugating analysis was used to determine the numbers of glucocorticoid(GC)receptors(GCRs).Results were statistically analysed respectively. Results GCRs tested in all the patients with HSPN(nephrotic type)before treatment were statistically lower than those in control group of normal children;GCRs in all the patients tested after 1 week treatment with GC were lower than before treatment.Three weeks later,GCRs in patients treated with TWHF increased much higher than them without TWHF.Following up the recurring times of all the patients 3 months to 5 years, they were much more in patients treated without TWHF treatment than in patients treated with it.Conclusions TWHF treatment on HSPN(nephrotic type)is obviously effective. It can not only decrease the dosage of GC,but decrease the recurring times. One of the mechanism may be TWHF can resist the down-regulation GC to GCR,and enhance the effect of GC.
