Based on the theory ofYe Tianshi that“disease progressively, chronic diseases transforming to collaterals”, physiological and pathological features of the lung were combined to elucidate the pathogenesis of pulmonary fibrosis, which had the characteristics of disease progressed from superficial location to deeper regions, and the disease transformed from functional to organic disease lesions. The initial stage was mainlyqi disorders and dysfunction due to evilqi invasion andqi disorder in the lung collaterals. The treatment was to disperseqi and regulate collaterals. In the middle or later stage, the main pathogenesis was lung deficiency and blood stasis due to the obstruction of lung collaterals, as well as long-term mixture of deficiency and stasis. The treatment was to remove obstruction and tonify deficiency. Therefore, dispersingqi and regulating collaterals, as well as removing obstruction and tonifying deficiency were the main treatment methods of pulmonary fibrosis. Analysis on pulmonary fibrosis from the theory of“disease progressively, chronic diseases transforming to collaterals”, can give a good summary and explanation of the disease occurrence, progress and development with important clinical significance.

Cytoarchitecture of the ventrolateral superficial area of the medulla was studied on normal rabbit Nissl sections.There was a superficial area of small and medium sized cells,mostly fusiform,lateral to the pyramid.In middle and upper parts of the medulla superficial cells were also found in less amount in more lateral regions. At the middle medullary level there was a band of cells about 300 ?m from the surface with medium sized ones as its most prominent elements. HRP or WGA-HRP was injected in 10 rabbits into the cervical,thoracic or lumbar spinal cord unilaterally and its connection with the ventrolateral superficial area of the medulla was traced.Labeled cells were found in all cases along the pyramid.The lateral part of the superficial area was less labeled.The medium sized cell band at the middle medulla was markedly labeled,especially in thoracic injec- tion cases.More labeled cells were found in cervical injection cases in an area ventromedial to the facial nucleus. Anterogradely labeled terminal arborizations were in general small in amount, somewhat more prominent in cervical cases. The relation between the ventrolateral superficial area and the chemosensitive area is disscussed.

Opioid peptides and their receptors play an important r ole in the pathophysiologic process of stroke. The concentration of endogenous o pioid peptides elevates, while the density of opioid receptors decreases in CNS during cerebral ischemia; on the other hand, opioids influence the development o f stroke through regulating the contraction of cerebral vessel, immuno-endocrin e system and neuroprotection against injury. Thus, drugs that regulate the opioi d system may be a new therapeutic approach for prevention and treatment of cereb ral ischemia.

Objective To investigate the effect of bezafibrate on serum pro-inflammatory cytokine levels and blood pressure change in patients with hypertriglyceridemia and hypertension after antihypertensive therapy with extended release nifedipine. Methods Fifty-eight patients with both hypertriglyceridemia and hypertension, which was treated with extended release nifedipine, were randomized into 2 groups: bezafibrate group (n=30) and placebo group (n=28). Changes in levels of blood lipids, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), tumor necrosis factor?(TNF-?) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) were observed following the treatment. Aims To establish several behavioral paradigms to characterize the psychotropic effects of hallucinogens which ze-brafish was utilized as a model animal, and then to investigate the effects of potent hallucinogenic drugs on these models. Methods With the video record and track system, the behavior was recorded and quantified automatically. In the experiments, the bottom dwelling test, social behavior and mirror test were performed to test the hallucinogenic effects of drugs. Metham-phetamine (METH, 2 mg·L-1) and ketamine (20 mg·L-1) were selected as experimental challenges. The 30 min pre-treat-ment time was chosen based on our prior experience in zebrafish models. Results Compared to the normal group, in dwelling test, acute exposure of zebrafish to METH and ketamine de-creased transitions significantly, and in mirror reflection test, the drug-treated fish changed the preference for mirror zone, and ex-hibited aggressive for their mirror images. The pretreatment of METH and ketamine significantly reduced the contact durations, and the ketamine inhibited the contact frequency each other, the results indicated that the social interaction of zebrafish was im-paired. Conclusion The results confirm high sensitivity of ze-brafish models to hallucinogenic compounds with complex behav-ioral and physiological effects.

3.64 mmol/L)received 8-week double blind comparisons treatment.After treatment we randomly selected 15 patients for each group.The fasting serum lipid was measured at the end of 4-week and 8-week,and the serum hs-CRP and IL-6 were measured too.Meanwhile seven hypercholesterolemic patients from rosuvastatin group and seven ortholiposis out-patients were included.These patients were treated with statins for 4 weeks.The erythrocytes before and after treatment were kept to be measured the FA.Results (1)Compared with the pretreatment,the level of LDL-C,TC,hs-CRP remarkably reduced in two treatment groups at the end of 4-week therapy.These inflammatory parameters did not further reduced,but hs-CRP reduced further at the end of 8-week therapy.(2)The percent age of SFA was obviously higher in hypercholesterolemic group than ortholiposis group.On the other hand,PUFA and ?-3 FA were obviously lower.After 4-week treatment the percent age of SFA reduced,while PUFA and ?-3 FA increased significantly in hypercholesterolemic group.Conclusion (1)Statins reducing inflammatory factors is independent of lipid-modifying ability.(2)Rosuvastatin treatment can effectively reduce the level of LDL-C and TC,and no significant difference in the effect is observed between two treatment groups.(3)The erythrocyte membrane FA proportion was obviously different in hypercholesterolemic group from ortholiposis group.Statins treatment could make the proportion of FA in erythrocyte membrane restore normal.

Objective The trial was designed to observe the hemodynamic circadian rhythm in serious heart failure.Methods Totally 140 cases were assigned into the trial;120 cases of serious heart failure were into the heart failure group and 20 cases without heart failure into the control group.Heart rate(HR) and stroke volume(SV)were measured per hour during hospitalization.Results Circadian rhythm existed in two groups,but the heart rates were faster and the stroke stroke volumes lower in the heart failure group.As a whole,the HR and SV were positively correlative in two groups.But the cures of heart rate and stroke volume were separate between 1:00~4:00 before dawn in the heart failure group.The heart rate descended,while stroke volume rose.Conclusion There is divergence phenomenon between heart rate and stroke volume before dawn in serious heart failure.

Objective To analyze the clinicopathologic characteristics and evaluate the influence factors for the prognosis of rectum carcinoma patients who had undergone surgical resection. Methods A retrospective analysis of data of 272 patients with rectum carcinoma in TNM stage Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ was made, all these patients underwent R0 surgical resection from 1998 to 2002 in the General Hospital of PLA. The survival rate was analyzed by Kaplan-Meier method. The clinical characteristics and pathologic features were compared with the aid of monofactorial and multifactorial Cox regression analyses. Results The median survival time was 58.5 months, and the 1-, 3- and 5-year survival rates of rectum carcinoma after surgical resection were 79%, 70% and 62%, respectively. With monofactorial analysis, preoperative CEA level, diameter of tumors, differentiation degree of tumor, depth of tumor invasion, the number of metastatic lymph nodes and TNM staging were found to be significant factors influencing the prognosis. Adjuvant chemotherapy after surgery had influence over the survival rates of stage Ⅱ and Ⅲ rectal carcinoma. Age, gender, histological type and infiltration of canalis haemalis were uncorrelated with prognosis. Preoperative CEA level, depth of tumor infiltration and the number of metastatic lymph nodes were proved independently to be the risk factors influencing prognosis by multifactorial analysis. Conclusions The tumor site was not the prognostic factor of rectal carcinoma after R0 surgical resection. Preoperative CEA level, infiltration and the number of metastatic lymph nodes were independent prognostic factors in predicting the postoperative outcome. Careful preoperative assessment, early radical surgery and adjuvant chemotherapy after operation can improve the survival rate in rectum carcinoma patients.

Objective To investigate the application value of plasma D-dimer and coagulation indicators in the patients with o-varian cancer by detecting the routine coagulation indicators and plasma D-dimer level.Methods The plasma D-dimer and coagula-tion indicators levels were measured in 84 patients with ovarian cancer and 25 patients with benign ovarian tumor.The application value of preoperative plasma D-dimer level in monitoring the disease course of ovarian cancer was evaluated.Results The plasma levels of D-dimer and FBG in the ovarian cancer group were significantly higher than those in the ovarian benign tumor control group(P <0.01);moreover the plasma levels of D-dimer and FBG in the patients with the stage Ⅲ~Ⅳ ovarian cancer were signifi-cantly higher than those in the patients with the stageⅠ~Ⅱ ovarian cancer,the differences had statistical significance(P <0.05), which prompting that the coagulation and fibrinolysis dysfunction in the patients with ovarian cancer exhibited the aggravating trend with the disease condition progression.Conclusion D-dimer may reflect the excessive activation of fibrinolysis function in ovarian tumor,which prompting the survival period and prognosis in the patients with advanced ovarian cancer.The plasma D-dimer level has the important significance to early prevention,early diagnosis,early treatment and improve the prognosis in the thrombosis oc-currence in ovarian cancer.
