Objective To systematically evaluate the association between lactotransferrin(LTF) gene rs1126478 polymor‐phism and caries susceptibility .Methods The published literatures on the association between LTF gene rs1126478 polymorphism and caries susceptibility were retrived from the electronic databases of Pubmed ,Web of science ,Embase ,EBSCO ,Springerlink , CNKI ,VIP ,Wanfang and CBM by computer .The pooled odds ratios (ORs) and its 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs) were used as the effect indicators .The statistical analysis was performed by using the RevMan 5 .2 and Stata 12 .0 softwares .The bias evalua‐tion and sensitivity analysis were also performed .Results A total of 5 case‐control studies involving 720 cases and 412 controls were included .The meta analysis results showed that no statistical significance in the association between LTF gene rs1126478 pol‐ymorphism and caries susceptibility was revealed in all four genetic models (GG+ AG vs .AA :P= 0 .75 ,OR= 0 .93 ,95% CI=0 .59-1 .46 ;G vs .A :P=0 .88 ,OR=0 .97 ,95% CI=0 .68 -1 .38 ;GG vs .AA :P=0 .84 ,OR=1 .07 ,95% CI =0 .57 -1 .99 ;GG vs .AG+AA :P=0 .52 ,OR=1 .12 ,95% CI = 0 .79-1 .58) .Similarly ,the subgroup analysis by ethnicity showed no statistical sig‐nificance in the onset risk between Caucasian and Asian populations as well (both P>0 .05) .Conclusion The LTF gene rs1126478 polymorphism may have no relation with the susceptibility to caries .

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of enameloplasty sealant technique (EST) com-bined with fluoride releasing flowable resin in pit and fissure enamel caries. Methods A total of 247 young permanent molars diagnosed as early pit and fissure enamel caries from 125 children aged 6-12 years in Uru-mqi Stomatological Hospital were selected as the study subjects. They were divided into four groups:group A (conventional cleaning of pit and fissure+conventional sealant) 32 cases,62 teeth;group B (conventional cleaning of pit and fissure+fluorine releasing flowable resin) 29 cases,62 teeth;group C (EST+conven-tional sealant) 33 cases,62 teeth;group D (EST+fluorine releasing flowable resin) 31 cases,61 teeth. After 6 and 18 months of follow-up,the retention rate of sealants and rate of caries-free were compared among the various groups. Results After 6 months of follow-up,the retention rates of sealant in groups A,B,C and D were 75.00%,76.67%,93.33% and 95.00% respectively, and which after 18 months of follow-up were 45.76%,41.38%,71.93% and 94.92% respectively, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The results of further multiple comparisons showed that there were statistically significant differences in the retention rate of sealant between group A and group C,group B and group D after 6 and 18 months of follow-up (P<0.0083),moreover there was statistically significant difference in the retention rate of sealant between group C and group D after 18 months of follow-up (P<0.0083).After 18 months of follow-up,the rates of caries-free in groups A,B,C and D were 66.10%,63.79%,94.74% and 98.31%,respectively.The re-sults of further multiple comparisons showed that the rates of caries-free between group A and group C,group B and group D were statistically significantly different (P<0.0083).Conclusion The retention rate of seal-ant and long-term caries prevention effect of adopting the EST in the treatment of pit and fissure enamel caries are superior to the conventional sealant technique.EST combining with fluorine releasing flowable resin could further increase the retention rate of sealant.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect and mechanism of Panax notoginseng saponins (PNS) on wound healing after anal fistula surgery in rats by regulating the hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α)/vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)/ vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-2 (VEGFR2) signaling pathway. METHODS SD rats were selected to establish a postoperative rat model of anal fistula by infecting wound with Escherichia coli. The model rats were randomly grouped into model group, PNS low-dose and high-dose groups (15, 30 mg/cm2), high-dose of PNS+2-methoxyestradiol (2ME2) group (PNS 30 mg/cm2+HIF-1α inhibitor 2ME2 4 mg/kg), with 10 rats in each group. Another 10 normal rats were selected for back hair removal treatment as the control group. Each drug group was injected with the corresponding drug solution intramuscularly or (and) intraperitoneally, once a day, for 3 weeks. After the last administration, the wound healing rate (excluding the control group), microvascular density (MVD), the expression of collagen Ⅰ and fibronectin (FN) in the wound tissue were detected in each group; the levels of angiogenic factors [VEGF, E-mail:842710813@qq.com angiopoietin-Ⅰ (Ang-Ⅰ), Ang-Ⅱ] in serum, the levels of inflammatory factors [interleukin-6 (IL-6) and IL-2] in serum binggui7183@163.com and wound tissue as well as the expressions of the related proteins of HIF-1α/VEGF/VEGFR2 signaling pathway in the wound tissue of rats were also detected in each group. RESULTS The MVD, the expression of collagen Ⅰ and FN in the wound tissue, and the levels of IL-6 and IL-2 in serum and wound tissue of rats increased significantly in the model group, compared to the control group (P<0.05), while the serum levels of VEGF, Ang- Ⅰ and Ang-Ⅱ decreased significantly (P<0.05). The wound healing rate, the MVD in wound tissue, the serum levels of VEGF, Ang-Ⅰ and Ang-Ⅱ, the expressions of collagen Ⅰ and FN in the wound tissue, and protein expressions of HIF-1α, VEGF and VEGFR2 in the PNS low-dose and high-dose groups increased significantly, compared to the model group (P<0.05), while the levels of IL-6 and IL-2 in serum and wound tissue decreased significantly (P<0.05); the high-dose PNS had a stronger effect (P< 0.05). 2ME2 could weaken the effect of PNS on above indicators of rats after anal fistula surgery (P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS PNS can promote the production of angiogenic factors and inhibit the production of pro-inflammatory factors, thereby promoting wound healing in rats after anal fistula surgery. The above effects are related to the activation of HIF-1α/VEGF/VEGFR2 signaling pathway.
