4.The development of lottery addiction scale for Chinese lottery buyers
Chinese Journal of Behavioral Medicine and Brain Science 2009;18(8):757-759
Objective This study aims to develop a lottery addiction scale (LAS) for Chinese welfare lot-tery buyers. Methods A scale made by authors was applied to 8238 welfare lottery buyers from 31 provinces, one sample of 4071 cases for exploratory factor analysis (EFA) ,and the other 4167 cases for confirmatory factor analy-sis (CFA). Results Through EFA, the scale consisted 10 items established, and it was divided into two factors: functional impairment and emotional dependency. These two factors could explain 45.5% of total variance, The scale was confirmed by CFA (X2/df=13.34 ;IFI=0.96 ;CFI=0.96 ;NFI=0.96 ;RSMEA = 0.054). The internal consistencies of the scale answered to the basic statistic criterion (r=0.59~0.74). Criteria validity shown by higher LAS scores in high expending group than low expending group was also satisfying. Conclusion The LAS has good psychometric features and could be applied to Chinese lottery buyers.
5.Open reduction fixation for treating ankle joint fractures:a wire anchor in the repair of triangular ligament injury
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2016;20(9):1255-1260
BACKGROUND:Ankle joint fracture combined with triangular ligament injury is a common type of injury, and is easy to have an impact on the anatomy of the ankle joint, leading to the occurrence of joint instability; the treatment is extremely easy to lead to a variety of complications. For injured triangular ligament, it is controversial whether it is necessary to repair in the clinic. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of a wire anchor for repairing triangular ligament in ankle joint fracture fixation. METHODS:The clinical data of 36 cases of ankle fractures combined with triangular ligament injury, who were treated in the Department of Orthopedics of the Seventh People’s Hospital of Zibo City from May 2013 to May 2014, were retrospectively analyzed. The ankle fractures combined with triangular ligament injury were treated with open reduction plate fixation. The patients were folowed up for 12 months. The recovery of ankle joint function was evaluated with the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) ankle and foot function score. Gravity stress X-ray examination was performed before and after treatment. Space of medial maleolus was measured. Adverse events were observed. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The patients were folowed up 3, 6 and 12 months after treatment. AOFAS score of the ankle joint was increased and significantly higher at 12 months than that before surgery (P< 0.05). Gravity stress X-ray examination revealed that the space of medial maleolus of the affected side was smaler at 12 months than that before treatment (P < 0.05). No injuries to nerves and blood vessels were found during surgery, and the incision was healed in the first stage, and no infection was observed. Adverse events such as fixator breakage and loosening were not visible. However, partial function of the ankle joint was limited after repair in triangular ligament injury. Results confirmed that open reduction and internal fixation combined with a wire anchor obtained good effects in the repair of ankle joint fracture with triangular ligament injury.
6.Proto-oncogene Bmi-1 and head and neck cancer
Journal of International Oncology 2013;40(9):665-668
Bmi-1 is a core member of the polycomb group genes. As a proto-oncogene,Bmi-1 plays an important role in cell self-renewal,proliferation and apoptosis.Several studies have shown that Bmi-1 is highly expressed in some head and neck malignant tumors, such as nasopharyngeal cancer and laryngeal carcinoma.Furthermore, the expression level of Bmi-1 is closely related to the occurrence, development, incursion and prognosis of tumor.Bmi-1 is expected to become a novel tumor molecular marker, and provides a new direction for the treatment of the head and neck malignant tumor.
7.Analysis of differential urinary proteome in experimental minimal change nephropathy
Basic & Clinical Medicine 2010;30(3):232-236
Objective To screen early urine protein markers for minimal change nephropathy. Methods Adriamycin nephropathy was employed as minimal change nephropathy model.Urinary protein and ConA captured glycoproteins were respectively profiled. Results By profiling urine proteome,25 differential proteins were identified. These differential proteins were from leaked plasma proteins, secreted proteins from immuno-and inflammatory cells, specifically asecreted proteins from urinary tract, and so on.They took part in different pathogenic process,eg.hemodynamic changes, podocytes injury, immunological disorder and so on.By profiling ConA-enriched urinary glycoproteome,21 differential proteins were identified, among which 12(57%) were different from the above 25 differential proteins. This indicates that the knowledge of urine glycoproteome is complementary to urine proteome in understanding kidney condition. Conclusion These differential proteins can be potential indicators of minimal change nephropathy, and can help better understand the pathogenesis by further studying their functions.
8.Isolation and identification of small cell lung cancer stem-like cells
China Oncology 2000;0(06):-
Background and purpose:Small cell lung cancer(SCLC) is a highly aggressive malignancy with a 5-year survival rate of less than 10%.These features suggest the enrichment in cancer stem cells. Our study was aimed to establish a small cell lung cancer cell line from primary cultured from lung cancer tissue, and to identify and isolate cancer stem cells from the early generations of the established cell line. Methods:By using a serum-free medium, lung cancer primary cells were cultured from a small fresh lung cancer cell sample, and a small cell lung cancer cell line was established after passaging the cultured cells.Lung cancer stem cell markers were searched by using flow cytometry analysis to sort through the third or forth generation cells of the established cell line.Biological characteristics of lung cancer stem cells were studied by using the single cell clone formation test, plat colony formation test and cell sphere formation test. Results:A small cell lung cancer cell line was established by primarily culturing a fresh lung cancer sample. The cell line could easily passaged more than 25 generations. When the third or fourth generation cells of the established cell line were checked by flow cytometry, there was a small population of cells that were obviously with CD44 stronger positive(CD44++ cells,5.1%) than the main population cells, which were CD44 weak positive(CD44+ cells).CD44++ cells showed stronger colony formation ability than the CD44+ cells.Furthermore, only the CD44++ cells could form stem cells when a single cell was seeded in a well of 96 well plates. Most importantly, only the CD44++ cells could form cell spheres in ultra low attachment 96 well plates. These results indicated that the CD44++ cells enriched more cancer stem cells in the small cell lung cancer cell line. When CD44 and CD90 antibodies were co-stained,the cells of the established cell line could be separated into 4 populations,i.e.CD44+CD90-,CD44+ CD90+,CD44++ CD90+ and CD44++ CD90-cells.CD44+ CD90+ cells were the smallest population cells in the cell line, with a ratio of about 1.9%.When cultured in ultra low attachment 96 well plates,CD44++ CD90+ cells had the strongest cell sphere formation ability when compared with other population cells, indicating that CD90 might also be a small cell lung cancer stem cell marker. Conclusion:There were cancer stem-like cells in primary cultured small cell lung cancer cell lines,CD44 and CD90,which might mean that they could be lung cancer stem cell markers.
9.INFLUENCE OF DIETARY FAT ON LIVER AND SERUM LIPID AS WELL AS ON ERYTHROCYTE MEMBRANE IN RATS
Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(01):-
To investigate the effects of dietary fatty acids on liver and serum lipid as well as on erythrocyte membrane, 23%(w/w) lard (as saturated fatty acids SFA), 23%(w/w) corn oil (as polyunsaturated fatty acids PUFA) and 5%(w/w) corn oil (as low fatty acids LFA control) were fed respectively to three groups of Wistar rats for 35 and 63 days. The study showed that the pattern of liver fatty acids was correlated with that of dietary fatty acids. Serum VLDL-Ch was lowered in PUFA group when compared with that in SFA group. The osmotic fragility and hemolytic rate of RBC were elevated in PUFA group, but lowered in SFA group. The membrane fluidity of RBC in PUFA group tended to increase. The immune adhesive activity of RBC C3b receptor was impaired when high dietary fat (PUFA, SFA) were given to rats. This study indicates that high dietary fatty acids have adverse effect on RBC membrane structure and immune adhesive function. That high PUFA is good for health is not always correct.
10.Study on the correlation of stereometric nuclear volume with histological grading in the prognosis of osteoblastic sarcoma
Journal of Third Military Medical University 1983;0(04):-
Twenty cases of osteoblastic sarcoma were studied retrospectively with the stereometric method in order to provide objective morphometric data for the histological grading of the tumor. After standard fixation, embedding, sectioning and hematoxylin eosin staining, the average nuclear volume Vv was determined with the formula as follows; In the formula,Lo stands for the distance between 2 points resulting from the interception of a testing line through a nucleus. It was found that the Vv of osteoblastic sarcoma varied from 85 to 765?m3 and was consistent to the prognosis predicted with the Price's grading of sarcoma. It is believed that the determination of the stereomtric nuclear volume of osteoblastic sarcoma is able to provide an objective criterion for the prognosis of the tumor.
