1.Effect of liooxygenase and cyclooxygenase blockade on acute hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction in yunan monkey
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 1986;0(02):-
The hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction (HPV) in Yunan monkey has been observed. The results showed that acute alveolar hypoxia caused significant pulmonary hypertension, associated w~th art increase in pulmonary vascular resistance. The maximal response appeared 3 min after onset of hypoxia. Monkey may be proposed as moderate responder in HPV. The HPV in monkey was blocked by lipoxygenase inhibitor diethylcarbamazine and enhanced by cyclooxy genase blocker...indomethacin. It is suggested that lipoxygenase metabolites leukotrienes probably play the role of a mediator in HPV of monkey, whereas cyclooxygenase metabolites prostaglan dins act as medulator.

Chinese Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics 2002;0(06):-
AIM: To study whether agonists of group II and III metabotropic glutamate receptors (mGluRs) exert effects on LPS-induced glutamate uptake inhibition in C6 glioma cells. METHODS: The glutamate uptake into C6 glioma cells was measured by uptake of [3H]-D,L-glutamate; and the apoptosis and the viability of C6 glioma cells were investigated by Hoechst33342 and MTT methods, respectively. RESULTS: LPS (4, 6 ?g/mL) inhibited glutamate uptake significantly compared with that in the control group without effect on the apoptosis and viability of C6 glioma cells. Pretreatment of C6 glioma cells with group II and III mGluRs agonists DCG-IV(100 ?mol/L) and L-AP4(100 ?mol/L) reversed LPS-induced glutamate uptake inhibition. These recovery effects were abolished by their respective antagonists APICA and MSOP. CONCLUSION: Activation of group II and III mGluRs recovers LPS-induced glutamate uptake inhibition in C6 glioma cells, suggesting the enhancement of glutamate uptake is involved in neuroprotective roles exerted by group II and III mGluRs agonists.

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 2001;0(11):-
Objective To study the effects of deep hypothermia and L-arginine(NO precursor) pretreatment on cerebral protection after circulatory arrest and resuscitation in a canine model. Methods Ten healthy adult dogs of both sexes, weighing 14.45?2.3kg, were randomly divided into two groups(n=5): sham treatment group and L-arginine pretreatment group. Extracorporeal circulation was established routinely, circulatory arrest was induced when the nasopharyngeal temperature was reduced to 18℃, then the animals were resuscitated 90min later with extracorporeal circulation. SjvO2 was measured at 30min before circulatory arrest, 0min, 45min, 90min after circulatory arrest and at 60minutes after resuscitation. The ultrastructure changes in cerabral cortex were observed with transmission electron microscope (HITACHI 7500). The brain water content was also determined after the dogs were sacrificed. Results SjvO2 had decreased obviously after circulatory arrest, attaining the lowest level in CA 90min.After resuscitation it increased again in both groups. The levels of SjvO2 in dogs of L-arginine pretreatment group were markedly higher than that of control group at 45min and 90min after circulatory arrest (P

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1982;0(03):-
Objective To study the character of transformation of H.pylori into coccoid form under oxidative stress, and the changes in the biological charasteristics after transformation. Methods The coccoid form of H.pylori was studied with bacteriological, enymological, and genetical methods to identify its differences from the original form. Animal experiment was conducted to determine its implantation capacity. Results Morphological transformation from spiral to coccoid form occurred with the prolongation of culture under oxygen stress. The metabolic activity was reduced gradually, finally maintained at a lower level. The activities of urease, alkaline phosphatase and acid phosphatase were decreased markedly. The mRNA levels of main virulence factors were declined. Both mRNA and activities of enzyme of Sod B and Kat retained high levels. A part of the coccoid forms showed reversion to helical form, and colonization in mice stomach could be found after being inoculated to mice. Conclusions The metabolism and virulence of H.pylori were all lowered under oxidative stress, but a part of the coccoid form may be viable. Sod B and Kat may play an important role in the oxygen metabolism of H.pylori.
