Objective:To evaluate the feasibility of argon laser-induced choroidal neovascularization(CNV)model in the pigmental rabbits in order to establish the foundation for studying the mechanism of CNV and for the development of treatment for CNV.Methods:Experimental eyes in 20 rabbits were received a series of 20 argon green laser(514.5nm) lesions per eye (700 mW,50um,0.1s).Fundus fluorescein angiography(FFA) and indocyanine green angiography (ICGA) were performed,then the rabbits were sacrificed immediately,the eyes were enucleated and processed for histopathologic and immunohistochemistry examination on days 3,7,14,21,30.Results:CNV first appeared on day 7 after photocoagulation,reaching the peak on day 21.The incidence of CNV was 63.0%.Disciform leakage staining appeared in the FFA.ICGA showed that the disciform area was filled with CNV.CNV was ascertained by light microscopy.The immunohistochemistry examination of VEGF was positive in ganglion cell layer and inner nuclear layer of retina from 2w after photocoagulation.Conclusion:The present studies demonstrated that argon laser photocoagulation could be used to produce choroidal neovascularization experimental model in the pigmental rabbits.CNV can be induced rapidly by the method,persists for a long period and at a high successful rate.VEGF plays a role in the formation of CNV.

Objective To evaluate the role of arthroscopy in diagnosis and treatment of osteoarthritis of the knee.Methods The data of 108 patients (118 knees) with osteoarthritis of the knee and received arthroscopic surgery were analyzed retrospectively including sign, X-ray and MRI examinations of knee, the average stage in hospital, diagnoses before and after operation, and prognosis.Results Arthroscopic surgery was of benefit to diagnosis and treatment of osteoarthritis of knee. The average stage in hospital was 11±7 days. The following-up of 98 patients showed that 82 patients were excellent, 16 patients good and only 1 patients not up to standard.Conclusion Arthroscopic surgery has following advantages such as less invasive surgery, shorter stage in hospital, good curative effect in the near future.

Conclusions:PICC has no possible severe complications of central venous access such as pneumothorax.The new method provides a safe,reliable and effective venous access for mid and long term usage in old patients.

ObjectiveTo observe the effect of Kuiyu dection on ulcerative colitis and to explore its mechanism.Methods120 patients with ulcerative colitis were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group,60 cases in each group.The treatment group was treated with Kuiyu dection retention enema,1 time a day,15 days for a course of treatment; and the control group was treated with SASP orally,2 g every time,3 times a day,and 15 days for a course of treatment.All patients with a course of treatment for the next 7 days after the rest period of treatment,evaluated after 3 courses.Comprehensive clinical efficacy,the main symptoms,score of integral electronic colonoscopy examination,and the changes of IL-6,IL 8 levels were observed in both groups after treatment with complete remission and six months followed-up,besides,the recurrence rate was also observed.ResultsThe total effective rate was 93.33％ in the treatment group,better than the control group 78.33％ (x2 =9.027,P＜0.05) ; the treatment group also showed better results in diarrhea,pus and blood improvement than the control group (x2=5.630、x2=5.972,P＜0.05),the treatment group could significantly reduce UC Serum IL-6,IL-8 level (x2=8.314,P＜0.01); electronic colonoscopy examination points,hyperemia,erosions,ulcers in both groups were significantly improved,but the treatment group was significantly better than the control group (x2=8.322,P＜0.05) ; 6 months followed-up and the recurrence rate in treatment group were better than control group,and the difference was statistically significant (x2=5.857,P＜0.05).ConclusionThrough decreasing the IL-6,IL 8 levels,Kuiyu dection can treat ulcerative colitis,with significant effect,non-toxic side effects,inexpensive,and easy for use.

The fumarase from the culture of Aspergillus wentii F-871 was partially by means of precipitation with protamine sulphate, ammonium sulfate fractionation and column chromatography on Sephadex G-200, and then the concentrated enzyme solution was freeze-dried. The comparative enzyme activity of the fumarase was increased by 31.70 times and reached 24.6 U/mg, and the recovery was 36.64% . The optimal pH and temperature was 8.0 and 30℃, respectively. The pH stability of fumarase ranged 6.0 - 8.5, and more than 90% of the enzyme activity remained after incubated at 35℃ for 30 min.

Objective To observe the effect of Wnt/β-catenin pathway on proliferation of human umbilical vein endothelial cell (HUVEC) using the glycogen synthase kinase 3β (GSK-3β)-targeting RNAi recombinant adenovirus vector. Methods Homologous recombination and cloning techniques were used to construct RNAi recombinant adenoviral expressive vectors specific to GSK-3β. Then, the adenovirus plasmids was transfected into HEK 293A cells to produce adenovirus and amplify the adenoviral stock. Plaque forming assay was used to titer the adenoviral stock. The GSK-3β and β-catenin protein expressions were detected by Western blot and immunohistochemistry. The proliferation of HUVEC was detected with MTr assay. Results The RNAi adenovirus vectors specific to GSK-3β were successfully produced with high titer. The expression of GSK-3β protein in HUVEC could be down-regulated efficiently by the RNAi adenovirus, along with increased β-catenin protein expression. The proliferation of HUVEC was significantly increased (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01) after infected with GSK-3β RNAi recombinant adenovirus for 3, 5, 7 days. Conclusion RNAi adenovirus is an important tool that can inhibit the expression of GSK-3β efficiently, along with increased β-catenin protein expression. Up-regulating of the Wnt/β-catenin pathway might play an important role in the proliferation of HUVEC.

Alveolar ridge preservation (ARP) can prevent alveolar bone resorption,promote new bone formation and maintain the hard and soft tissue morphologies of tooth socket after tooth extraction,which plays an important role in the field of oral implantology.ARP has become a hot topic in dental research with the rapid development of bone substitute materials.This review focuses on recent development of various bone filling materials as well as future perspective of biomedical materials for ARP.
