1.Clinical signification of detecting Pre-S1 antigen for identifying viral replication in patients with HB without HBeAg
Chinese Journal of Laboratory Medicine 2000;0(06):-
Objective Identification of viral replication in patients with HB without HBeAg is significant for estimating course and adopting appropriate therapy. This research aimed to clarify clinical signification of detecting Pre-S1Ag for identifing viral replication in patients with HB without HBeAg.Methods Sera samples were collected from 65 outpatients with HB confirmed by liver biopsy. HBV markers ,Pre-S1 antigen in sera were detected by ELISA;HBV-DNA by PCR;HBsAg, HBcAg and Pre-S1Ag in tissue by immunohistochemistry method. Results Intracellular HBsAg,Pre-S1Ag mainly expressing in the plasma account for 78.4% (51/65) ,69.2%(45/65) respectively, HBcAg partly in the plasma and the nucleus account for 67.6(44/65).Positive rate of expressing HBcAg,Pre-S1Ag are little less than HBsAg, but very near between Pre-S1Ag and HBcAg.There are no significant difference by ?~2 test (P=0.736). There are no significant difference between HBV-DNA (≥10~3copies/ml) and Pre-S1Ag(P=0.059),but there are significant difference HBV-DNA-positive are 18, in which 14 are Pre-S1Ag-positive.It demonstrates that there are viral replication in 18 of 30 HBeAg-negative patients and Pre-S1Ag corresponds considerably with HBV-DNA. Among 14 HBeAg-negative patients there are 4 cases with Pre-S1Ag without HBeAg because of Pre-C mutation. Conclusion Pre-S1 is a valuably serological marker for HBV replication without HBeAg.

Objective To observe the changes of specific proteins in serum of acute stage patients with SARS and its clinical application. Methods The acute stage patients with SARS group included 42 cases who had clinical symptoms less than five days. In normal group: 30 healthy adults were as controls. Tests for specific proteins were immunoglobin G ( IgG ) , immunoglobin A ( IgA) , immunoglobin M ( IgM) , complement C3( C3),complement C4(C4),C-reaction protein (CRP), al acid glycoprotein( a1-AG) , a1 antitrypsin(a1-AT) ,transferrin(TRF), ceruloplasmin( CER) in sera by Ratenephelometer. Results The level of CRP, a1-AG, a1-AT in sera of patients with SARS were higher than that in control group ( P 0. 05). Conclusion It suggested that specific proteins in serum of acute stage patients with SARS change in a particular way. There were some help for the diagnosis of the phlogistic degree of acute stage patients with SARS by detecting CRP, a1-AG and TRF simultaneously.

OBJECTIVETo find out the optimal nitrogen application level of Desmodium styracifolium.
METHODA field experiment using randomized block design was carried out to study the effects of 5 nitrogen application levels (150, 187.5, 225.0, 262.5 and 300.0 kg x hm(-2)) on yield and active component content of D. styracifolium.
RESULTNitrogen application could increase the yield and contents of polysaccharide, total flavonoides and total saponins of D. styracifolium. However, the enhancing extent of the active component content and the yield were not always significant with the increase of nitrogen level. In which, the yield were not significantly different among the nitrogen application levels of 225.0, 262.5, 300.0 kg x hm(-2) the polysaccharide content was no significantly difference among the nitrogen application levels of 225.0, 262. 5 and 300.0 kg x hm(-2), the total flavonoides content under the nitrogen level of 300.0 kg x hm(-2) was significantly lower than that of 150.0 kg hm(-2) (P < 0.01), and the total saponins content under the nitrogen level of 300.0 kg x hm(-2) was no significant difference compared with that of 262.5 kg x hm(-2).
CONCLUSIONThe optimal nitrogen application level of D. styracifolium was 225.0-262.5 kg x hm(-2).

{L-End}Objective To explore the impact of workplace violence (WPV) on occupational burnout among healthcare workers. {L-End}Methods A total of 675 healthcare workers from an infectious disease hospital were selected as the study subjects using typical sampling method. The Workplace Violence in the Healthsector Country Case Studies Research Instruments: Survey Questionnaire and the Maslach Burnout Inventory 2-item were used to investigate the incidence of WPV and occupational burnout. {L-End}Results The incidence of WPV among the study subjects was 35.1%, with incidences of physical and psychological violence at 2.2% and 34.1%, respectively. The detection rates of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and occupational burnout were 25.9%, 12.6%, and 52.4%, respectively. The result of multifactorial logistic regression analysis showed that experiencing psychological violence, having a bachelor or master degree or higher, and having more concerns about WPV were influencing factors for emotional exhaustion (all P<0.05). Knowing the reporting process for violent incidents and having more concerns about WPV were influencing factors for depersonalization (all P<0.05). Being in a minority ethnic group, having a bachelor, a master degree or higher, experiencing psychological violence, and having more concerns about WPV were influencing factors for occupational burnout (all P<0.05). {L-End}Conclusion WPV increases the risk of occupational burnout among healthcare workers. Effective measures should be implemented to reduce the incidence of WPV, decrease the level of occupational burnout, and promote the overall well-being of healthcare workers.
