Objective To investigate the acute toxicity and anti-stress effects of Naoxinshu capsule (NC) in mice. Methods In acute toxicity experiment, mice were oral administered to determine the maximum tolerance dose of NC.In anti-stress experiments, mice were divided into 5 groups at random, namely NC high, medium and low dose groups (2.4,1.2 and 0.6 g/kg,respectively),Gypenosides group(0.75 g/kg) and control group (n=10).After seven days of oral administration, rope climbing time, loaded swimming time,anti-hypoxia time, and survival rate under high or low temperature tests were carried out, respectively. Results The maximum tolerance dose of NC was 72 g/kg.NC high, medium and low dose groups significantly prolonged the rope climbing time [is (9.5 ± 3.1) min,(6.0± 1.6) min,(4.1 ± 1.2) min],loaded swimming time [is (28.2± 6.8) min,(25.7± 10.3)min,(22.9± 8.0)min] and anti-hypoxia time (around 17 min),compared to the control group (P<0.05 or P<0.01).NC high dose group significantly improved the survival rate of mice (i.e.30%) under high or low temperature (P<0.05).Conclusion NC shows good anti-stress effects, and no detectable acute toxicity in mice.

ObjectiveTo observe and compare the efficacy of two types of microencapsulated rat islets xenotransplanted into diabetic mice. MethodsThe mice diabetic model made with injecting 3% Streptozotosin through tail vein. Four groups were assigned: control group, naked islet transplantation group, alginate-BaCl2 microencapsulated islet transplantation group, agarose-PSSa microencapsulated islet transplantation group.300 islets were transplanted under the renal envelope of each diabetic mice respectively. ResultsThere were no significant difference in mean level of the blood glucose before transplantation among four groups. One week after transplantation, the respective mean level of the blood glucose in four groups were (7.26±1.56) mmol/L in alginate-BaCl2 microencapsulated islet transplantation group, (7.14±1.04) mmol/L in agarose-PSSa microencapsulated islet transplantation group, (7.42±1.52) mmol/L in naked islet transplantation group and (22.54±1.24) mmol/L in control. There were significant difference between the two encapsulated islet groups and the other two groups. The survived period of the two encapsulated islet transplantation groups were longer than that of the other two groups. The survived period of the alginate-BaCl2 microencapsulated islet transplantation group was longer than that of the agarose-PSSa microencapsulated islet transplantation group (92 d vs 56 d),the same as the time of keeping nomal blood glucose level (76 d vs 41 d). ConclusionMicroencapsulated rat islets with this two materials can survive in diabetic mice with their biological activity, and the alginate-BaCl2 microcapsules are better than the agarose-PSSa microcapsules.

Objective To investigate the preventive effect of nano-powder of Wugong-sanqi (NW),the rhizome of Anemone flaccid,on postoperative intestinal adhesion in rats. Methods Fifty SD rats were subjected to operation with Ellis' method for establishing intestinal adhesion models, then randomly divided into 5 groups (n=10),namely model, positive (Dexamethasone,i.m.10 mg/kg),NW high, medium and low dose group (p.o.450,225 and 112 mg/kg,respectively).Another ten normal rats were selected as normal control group. After administration 3 days pre-operation and 7 days post-operation,all of rats were killed, the intestinal adhesion was graded and the tissues were observed by optical microscope. Results NW evidently reduced the severity of postoperative adhesion (P<0.05 or P<0.01),compared with model group. The histopathologic changes such as proliferation of fibroblast cells and capillary, interstitial granulomas and inflammatory cells infiltration in intestinal tissues were also improved significantly in NW groups. Conclusion NW could inhibit the formation of postoperative intestinal adhesion effectively.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the distribution of pathogenic bacteria in blood culture and their drug-sensitivity in our hospital in the past year.METHODS The blood samples were cultivated in the BacT/Alert 3D system and the isolated colonies were identified by the VITEK32 system or traditional routine procedures. The K-B method was carried out for the drug-sensitivity festing.RESULTS From the 716 blood samples received,we identified 109 strains of pathogens in which Gram-positive cocci accounted for 50.46%,Gram-negative bacilli for 44.04% and fungi for 5.5%.CONCLUSIONS There are many kinds of pathogens identified from blood culture and they have high resistance to many antibiotices. It is very important for doctors to get the results of blood culture in time in order to give the patients correct antibiotic therapy and to improve the cure rate and to control cross-infection in hospials.

Aim To investigate the effect of asiatic acid on apoptosis and autophagy in human glioblastoma T98G cells. Methods MTT colorimetry was employed to assay the cellular proliferating activity. The fluores-cence microscope and Hoechst 33258 staining were used to detect the morphological changes. The cell ap-optosis and autophagy were analyzed by flow cytometry with Annexin-V/7-AAD and MDC staining respective-ly. The expressions of associated proteins were detected by Western blot to analyze the mechanism of apoptosis and autophagy. Results MTT assay showed that the growth of T 9 8 G cells was inhibited by asiatic acid ( IC50 =46. 3 μmol · L-1 ) . Annexin V/7-AAD stai-ning and Western blot revealed that asiatic acid in-duced apoptosis in T98 G cells by reducing the expres-sion of Akt, decreasing the mitochondrial membrane potential, and increasing the expression of Caspase-3. MDC staining and Western blot showed that the per-centage of MDC-positive cells was decreased and the expressions of Beclin-1 , LC3-II and Atgs were inhibi-ted by asiatic acid treatment. 5 μmol·L-1 chloroquine was used to up-regulate the expressions of LC3-Ⅱand Beclin-1 . Asiatic acid-inhibited autophagy was blocked and the total apoptotic rate was reduced remarkably. Conclusion Asiatic acid suppresses T98 G cells pro-liferation by inducing apoptosis and inhibiting cell au-tophagy, and the very role of inhibiting autophagy could promote apoptosis to a certain extent.

Objective:To explore the influence of chronic rhinitis on depressive symptoms of college freshmen and the mediating effect of avoidant personality. Methods:A cluster sampling method was used to survey 8 079 college freshmen from April 2018 to October 2018 using the Beck depression inventory and the avoidant personality diagnosis questionnaire based on DSM-Ⅳ.SPSS 25.0 software was used for descriptive statistics and Spearman correlation analysis, and the macro program PROCESS version 3.3 was used for the mediating effect.Results:(1) The detection rates of chronic rhinitis, avoidant personality and depressive symptoms were 22.90% (1 850/8 079), 19.22% (1 553/8 079) and 6.28% (507/8 079). The scores for avoidant personality disorder and depressive symptoms were 1.00 (0, 3.00) and 1.00 (0, 4.00), respectively. (2) The chronic rhinitis, avoidant personality and depressive symptoms were positively correlated ( rchronic rhinitis-avoidant personality=0.094, rchronic rhinitis-depressive symptoms=0.095, ravoidant personality-depressive symptoms=0.416, all P<0.001). (3) Chronic rhinitis could positively predict depressive symptoms ( β=1.113, P<0.001). (4) Avoidant personality played a mediating role between chronic rhinitis and depressive symptoms ( β=1.094, P<0.001), and accounted for 44.92%(0.500/1.113) of the total effect. Conclusion:Chronic rhinitis directly affect the depressive symptoms of college freshmen, and indirectly affect the depressive symptoms of college freshmen through the mediating role of avoidant personality.
