Objectives: To use the evaluation of a specific brain function obtained by optical topography. This system uses a non invasive method to measure brain function, unlike other major systems. Methods: Twelve optical fibers were attached to the subject's head. Hemodynamic changes in the motor cortex were measured during finger tapping before and after alcohol intake for each ALDH2 genotype. Results: Different hemodynamic changes in the motor cortex were observed among the ALDH2 genotypes. Conclusions: Optical topography is a useful tool for evaluating specific brain functions. Further research is needed on the relations between various environmental factors and brain functions by optical topography.

3.Study on the left ventricular systolic- function in the patients with the old cardiac infarction by cardiac ultrasound
Journal of Practical Medicine 2001;394(2):3-6
A cross-sectional discriptive, compare and control study on the 125 patients with the old cardiac infarction and 55 healthy people was carriout in the Army Central Hospital No108 from 3/1995 to 3/1998. The age and sex between 2 groups were the same. The results have shown that the EF% calculated as improved simpson and the interval from point E of the anterior leaf of mitral valve to the left side of the ventricular connection Septal eirs were 2 parameters with the sensitivity and specificity higher than other parameters of ultrasound. The patients with the old cardiac infarction had significantly reduced the left ventricular systolic function. This reduction was corelated with the cardiac infarction. The most reduced the left ventricular systolic function found in the group of the cardiac infarction in the both anterior and posterior septal.

4.Whether estimated clearance createinine by cockeroft gault can substitute the clearance createnine 24 hours or not in patients with glomerular diseases
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2001;263(9):96-102
The 128 patients (78 males, 50 females) managed in the Nephrology Department, Chî RÉy hosptial, were enrolled in this study to compare the classical clearance creatinine 24h with the clearance creatinine estimated by Cockcroft Gault formula. Almost 2/3 patients had glomerular diseases, in which the majority was manifested by the nephritic syndrome. The range of clearance creatinine 24h varied from 0.02 ml/min to 131 ml/min. A good correlation between clearance creatinine/1.73m2 in 24h and estimated clearance creatinine/1.73m2 from Cockroft Gault formula (r=0.89, R2=0.8, p<0.0005), a regression line was drawn. There had a strong correlation in the subgroup of female and subgroup with serum creatinine (3mg% (r=0.985). In conclusion, the Cockroft Gault formula estimated clearance creatinine can be replaced the classical clearance 24h on the evaluation of kidney function in renal disease patients

5.Techniques of reconstruction and rehabilitation after mastoidectomy
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2001;(11):37-39
For the obliteration of the mastoid cavity, we used 3 kinds of flaps: an dermo-musculo-aponeurotic flap, the musculo- aponeurotic component with a superior or inferior pedicle, and the Hong Kong flap. Rebuilding the posterior wall of external canal: the posterior wall is rebuilt by skin or by cartilage of the auricle. Reconstruction of the middle ear transformer: ossiculoplasty, myringoplasty. The obliteration of the mastoid cavity by aponeuro-muscular flaps is a simple technique. It can be carried out widely at all local hospitals but it is very important to have dry mastoid cavity after operation. The obliteration is done not only at the 1st stage of mastoidectomy but also at the 2nd stage

6.Primary evaluation for ventricular function in healthy adults using radio nuclide ventriculography (R.A)
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):33-34
The study was conducted on 25 healthy subjects (15 males, 10 females) with age ranged from 15 - 60 years. None have heart disease that identified by physical examination, cardiogram and echocardiography. Method of R.A with SPECT and S.A.G.E - Cardiac software was used. Main measurements were emptying parameters, filling parameters and wall motion. Findings suggested that indices of EF, PFR and TPF were similar to that of other oversea studies. Indices of TES, PER, TPE, 1/3EF, 1/3ER, MFR, 1/3FF, 1/3FR were showed but could not compare with other authors because of data limitation in literature. Indices of REF and RRS of wall motion were lower than that of other studies.

7.Some features of respiratory function among stone miners in B×nh §Þnh province
Journal of Practical Medicine 2001;396(4):27-29
A study on 214 stone-miners that have been working in the stone-mine in the dry season during 1998-1999 in B×nh §Þnh has shown that 50 persons experienced respiratory functional disorder; 164 persons had a normal respiratory function. Most of respiratory functional disorders were limited respiratory functional disorder. There was difference of respiratory functional disorder between groups of working ages.

8.Research into the capacity to adapt of the body to training process in athletes based on pulmonary ventilation functions
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2004;304(11):133-143
The study carried out pulmonary ventilation functions of 81 professional wrestlers, swimmers, and athletics in Hai Phong by using auto Spiroanalyser - ST 250 from FUKUDA SANGYO of Japan to measure objects in standing position after 15 – 30 minutes of pause. Pulmonary ventilation functions such as VC, FVC and FEV 1% T of wrestles, swimmers and athletics were considerable higher than those of controls. Their PEF, MVV and FV were much higher than those of controls. There was a fast increase of VC, FVC, FEV 1, PEF, MVV and FV after 12 months of training compared with the control group
