Objective To study the change of early carotid elasticity in perimenopausal women treated by hormone replacement therapy using e-tracking technique. Methods A total of 82 perimenopausal women with lower level of estradiol were randomly divided into two groups:41 cases in the treatment group and 41cases in the control group. Postmenopausal women in the treatment group were treated with Climnen. Before and 6 months after estrogen therapy,e-tracking technique was used to evaluate the carotid elastic modulus, such as the stiffness parameters (β), pressure-strain elastic modulus ( Ep), arterial compliances (AC), pulse wave conducting velocity (PWVβ) and augment index(AI). Results Compared with the normal group, datas of Ep,β,PWVβ and AI were significantly lower in treated group, while AC was obviously higher ( P <0.01). Conclusions E-tracking technique is a quick, simple and high accurate evaluating method for the change of carotid elasticity in perimenopausal women.

Objective To investigate the value of oral and intravenous contrast enhanced ultrasonography-double contrast ultrasonography (DCUS) in the evaluation of differentiation degree of gastric cancer. Methods Fifty-three patients who had been diagnosed as gastric cancer by gastroscope and confirmed by pathology after operation were examined by DCUS, and they were divided into moderately to well differentiated group and poorly differentiated group. The correlation of size and enhancement features of the lesions was compared with differentiation degree of gastric cancer. Results The size and enhancement distribution of lesions were markedly correlated with the degree of differentiation. The baseline intensity(BI)in poorly differentiated group was lower than that in well and moderately differentiated group[(0.52±1.12)dB vs (1.53±1.87) dB, P<0.05], but enhanced intensity(EI) was higher than that in the second group [(26.22±3.69)dB vs (23.69±5.02)dB, P<0.05]. Conclusions DCUS could initial evaluate the degree of differentiation of gastric cancer before operation.

Objective To study the synchronization of carotid artery wall motion with atheroscleroticsoft eccentric plaque using velocity vector imaging(ⅤⅥ). Methods Seventy-two patients with carotid artery atherosclerotic soft eccentric plaque were enrolled in this study. Their carotid arteries were examined using Acuson Sequoia 512 instrument respectively.Combined with ECG,two dimensional imaging of short axis view of carotid artery atherosclerotic soft eccentric plaque were recorded and analyzed on-line using ⅤⅥ software. The carotid artery wall of short axis was automatically divided into 6 segments. Time to peak index (TTPI)was calculated respectively. Results The TTPI was significantly higher than that of control group (P<0.001). A cut-off value<0.595 of TTPI for assessing the synchronization of carotid artery wall motion had a sensitivity of 93.9%,a specificity of 91.7%,respectively. Conclusions ⅤⅥ provides a new tool to assess the synchronization of arterial wall motion.

[Abstrict]Objective To explore the key points and clinical value of combined direct and indirect extracranial-in?tracranial (EC-IC) bypass in patients with adult moyamoya disease. Methods Retrospective analysis of combined revas?cularization surgery in 25 adult patients with moyamoya disease. The frontal branch and parietal branch of the superficial temporal artery (STA) were dissected. Combined revascularization surgery consisted of direct (anastomosis between the su?perficial temporal artery and cortical branch of the middle cerebral artery) and indirect (encephalodurogaleosynan-giosis EDAS) surgeries. Clinical status was evaluated using the modified Rankin Scale and NIHSS score at 1 day before, 1 week and 3 months after surgery. Results Thirty lateralities were successfully performed on 25 patients. Postoperative angiogra?phy or CTA and cranial computer tomography perfusion imaging(CTP) were conducted to examine the patency of the di?rect anastomosis and cerebral blood flow in 23 patientswithin 1 weeks after surgery . The results showed that the anasto?motic vascular patency was excellent and the cerebral blood flow increased in parallel to the relief of the patients’s isch?emic symptoms. The median mRS scores were 3 (1,3) before surgery, 2 (1,3) 1 week and 1 (0,3) 1 month after surgery. The median mRS scores were significantly improved (Z=15.14, P<0.01). The median NIHSS scores was 5 (4,8) preopera?tively and 4(2,7) postoperation 1 week and 3(1,4) 3 months. The median NIHSS scores were also significantly improved (Z=11.36, P<0.01). Unfortunately, two patients had complication and left hemiparesis. One patient complicated with con?tralateral hemisphere infarction and the another one complicated with ipsilateral hemispheric hemorrhage after operation. Conclusions Combined revascularization surgery may result in satisfying improvement in clinical, angiographic, and he?modynamic states and prevention of recurrent stroke. The stabilized hemodynamic is the key point in peroperative period for moyamoya patients.
