A comparable study were carried out by determination of trace elements on five marine-derived shell traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) (Ostreae Concha, Haliotidis Concha, Margaritifera Concha, Meretricis Concha, and Arcae Concha), which were recorded in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia (2010 version). Seven trace elements in 51 batches of this type of shell TCM were analyzed by Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS), combined with principal component analysis (PCA) methods. The content of element Se, which exhibited significant differences among different drugs, could be used as a key element to distinguish this type of drugs. Meanwhile, the contents of elements Co, Cu, Mo, and Ba in Haliotidis Concha, Co and As in Margaritifera Concha, Mo and As in Meretricis Concha, Mo, As, and Ba in Arcae Concha, and Zn in Meretricis Concha were relatively stable. In the PCA plot, Arcae Concha and Meretricis Concha could be efficiently distinguished from Ostreae Concha together with Haliotidis Concha, and Margaritifera Concha. The results also showed a correlation with their medicinal function. In conclusion, trace elements in marine-derived shell TCM could not be neglected for their quality control.

Objective To observe the effects of a lower-limb rehabilitation robot plus psychological intervention on depression and lower limb motor function of the stroke patients.Methods Sixty stroke patients were randomly divided into a treatment group (n =30) and a control group (n =30).The patients of control group were treated with routine rehabilitation and psychological intervention,while the treatment group were treated with lowerlimb rehabilitation robot,in addition to the interventions of the control group,for 10-20 minutes daily,6 days per week for 8 weeks.Both groups were assessed with Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD),Simplified Fugl-Meyer assessment (FMA) and Functional Ambulation Category (FAC) before and at the end of 2,4 and 8 weeks of treatment.Results There was no significant difference between the 2 groups in all the assessment parameters before and after 2 weeks of treatment.At the end of 4 weeks of treatment,both groups improved significantly with regard to the scores of HAMD,FMA and FAC classification,and the treatment group improved to a significantly greater extent than the control group (P ＜ 0.05).At the end of 8 weeks of treatment the scores of HAMD,FMA and FAC classification were further improved significantly in treatment groups when compared with values obtained at the end of 4 weeks after treatment,but the scores of the control group was not significantly improved at the end of 8 weeks when compared with those at the end of 4 weeks of treatment.Conclusion Lower-limb rehabilitation robot plus psychological intervention can significantly help relieve the post-stroke depression and improve lower motor function of stroke patients.

OBJECTIVE The aim of this study is to investigate the correlation between the spontaneous otoacoustic emission(SOAE)and transient evoked otoacoustic emission(TEOAE)in neonate. Objective To investigate the effect of motor imagery therapy based on mirror neuron theory on the motor function and gait in stroke survivors.Methods Forty-nine stroke survivors were randomly divided into a treatment group (n =24) and a control group (n =25) using a random number table.All the patients in both groups were given similar conventional rehabilitation treatment.In addition,the patients in the treatment group were given motor imagery training based on mirror neuron theory once a day for 20 min each time,5 days a week,lasting 8 weeks.The Fugl-Meyer assessment (FMA),Functional Ambulation Categories (FACs),average step length,the percentage of time spent on the intact foot and the paralyzed foot,and 6 minute walking distance were used to evaluate the subjects' motor function and gait before and after 8 weeks of treatment.Results Before the intervention there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of any of the measurements.At the end of the 8 weeks of treatment all measurements in both groups had significantly improved compared with before training.The averages of all the measures were significantly better in the treatment group than in the control group.Conclusions Motor imagery training based on mirror neuron theory can improve the motor function and gait of stroke survivors.

ABSTRACT:Objective To explore the expression of chemokine receptor CX3CR1 in severe acute pancreatitis (SAP)rats model and to estimate whether it can be a potential predictor of SAP.Methods Forty Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into sham-operation (SO)group (n =20)and SAP group (n =20).Rats were killed at 6 h,12 h,24 h and 48 h after model induction.The serum level of CX3CR1 was measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).The expression of CX3CR1 protein in the pancreas,lung and kidney were detected by immunohistochemistry.Results The serum level of CX3CR1 in SAP rats increased gradually after model induction and reached the peak at 24 h (542.4 pg/mL),which were significantly higher than those in SO group (P <0.05).The expression of CX3CR1 was found in the pancreas,lung and kidney tissues of SAP rats and higher than that in SO group.Meanwhile,the expression of CX3CR1 reached the peak at 24 h in the pancreas and lung and at 48 h in the kidney.Conclusion This study suggests that the chemokine receptor CX3CR1 may be one effective index for predicting the severity of acute pancreatitis and deserves further research.

Objective To evaluate mid-term(5-6 years)clinical and radiographic outcomes of cementless acetabular prosthesis in total hip arthroplasty(THA)and discuss the factors affecting postop- erative effect.Methods THA with cementless acetabular was used to treat 139 cases(148 hips)from January 1998 to May 1999.A retrospective study was done to analyze clinical effect and X-ray manifesta- tion of 109 cases(116 hips)that were followed up.Clinical evaluation was based on Harris hip score. The radiographical evaluation was performed according to orthotropia and lateral images of hip joint to ob- serve acetabular migration and bone changes around the hip and measure the polyethylene wear rate and direction of the acetabular polyethylene wear.Results The mean Harris score before operation was 44 points(10-70 points)but that after operation increased to 92.4 points(80-100 points)at latest follow up.Radiographical evaluation showed one hip with focal osteolysis,mean linear wear rate of 0.15 mm/ year and mean 10.4?for angle with vertical line.Abduction angel of the acetabula was mean 46?,with 10.5 mm for vertical distance and 8.7 mm for level distance.There was no revision of a fixed acetabulum component because of pelvic osteolysis secondary to polyethylene wear.No acetabular component was re- vised because of aseptic loosening or acetabular component migration at the latest follow up.Conclu- sions Cementless acetabular prosthesis in THA can successfully have good fixation.A long term follow up for cementless acetabular prosthesis is necessary because of potential factors like polyethylene wear and osteolysis.
