1.Updates in the research of Roux stasis syndrome
Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery 2015;14(7):593-597
Roux-en-Y procedure has widely been used for digestive tract reconstruction after distal or total gastrectomy, and the Roux stasis syndrome is one of the most common complications. The symptoms of Roux stasis syndrome include abdominal pain, abdominal distention, nausea, vomiting and anorexia.Abdominal movement of the intestinal loop and reversed peristalsis cause delayed passage of gastric contents, which is the main cause of the Roux stasis syndrome.Prokinetic agents and electronic stimulation have been investigated as potential nonsurgical treatment methods for Roux stasis syndrome.Uncut Roux-en-Y anastomosis has been found to be effective in preventing Roux stasis syndrome. In the future, precise evaluation of the psychological changes of the digestive tract after the Roux-en-Y anastomosis and understanding the mechanism of Roux stasis syndrome would be more effective to help the surgeons to resolve the problems.
2.Clinical Study on Treatment of Obesity of Gastrointestinal Excessive Heat by Puncturing Acupoints of Stomach Meridian
Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2007;5(4):224-229
To investigate the function of the acupoints of the stomach meridian in the treatment of obesity of gastrointestinal excessive heat. Methods: Fifty-one cases of the patients with obesity of gastrointestinal excessive heat were randomly allocated into two groups. The acupoints of the stomach meridian were mainly selected for the treatment group (A), and the combination of Back-Shu and Front-Mu points were used for the control group (B). The treatment was given once every other day, with one month as a course, 3 courses in total, to observe the changes in the symptoms and signs of the patients and to determine the obesity index before and after treatments and the experimental indexes such as leptin, blood lipids, blood sugar and ACHE. Results: In comparison of the control group, various obesity indexes could be significantly reduced (P<0.01), hyperleptinemia and fat metabolic disturbance could significantly improved (both P<0.05) and the imbalance status of the parasympathetic hyperfunction could be significantly reversed (P<0.05) in the patients with obesity in the treatment group. Conclusion: The stomach-meridian acupoints can function on many rings in the occurrence and development of obesity and are key and effective acupoints for obesity of gastrointestinal excessive heat.

Chinese Journal of Experimental Traditional Medical Formulae 2009;(7):74-76
Objective: To investigate the effect of astragalus on the serum levels of hepatocyte growth factor (HGF), renal function and the damage of renal morphology in ischemic acute renal failure (IARF). To study the protective mechanism of astragalus in IARF. Methods: The rats were pretreated with astragalus or vehicle for 3 days. IARF was induced by left renal artery clipping for 60 min, after the right kidney was removed. Biochemical parameters for serum HGF,blood urea nitrogen(BUN),creatinine(Cr) were measured and histological analyses of the kidneys were performed by tubular grading. Results: There have no significant difference between the serum HGF levels of I/R controls and the levels observed in sham-operated group (P > 0.05). Serum HGF levels in astragalus treated group was significantly increased than those of I/R control group(P < 0.01) .After 4 h of I/R, serum levels of BUN and Cr were increased in I/ R control rats compare with Sham-operated rats(P < 0.01). Astragalus treatment reduced the levels elevation(P < 0.05). Simultaneously,. I/R-induced severe damage in renal morphology were significantly ameliorated by astragalus treatment(P < 0.01). Conclusions: Astragalus pretreatment can alleviate the damage of renal function in IARF. It is may be one of the mechanisms of astragalus for protecting renal tissue in IARF that astragalus can induce the expression of HGF.

OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the clinical manifestation, diagnosis, treatment of parathyroid occupying lesions.
METHOD:
The clinical data of 26 patients with parathyroid occupying lesions between January 2003 and October 2012 at Dalian Central Hospital were retrospectively analyzed.
RESULT:
There were 2 cases of parathyroid cancer, 11 cases of parathyroid adenoma, 13 cases of parathyroid cysts in this study. All the cases, except 13 cases of cysts, are accompanied by symptoms of hyperparathyroidism. The symptoms were as follows:26 cases of neck lump, 11 cases of osteoporosis/osteitis fibrosa cystica,9 cases of urinary symptom, 8 cases of digestive symptom. Serum calciumion level and serum parathyroid hormone(PTH) level were examined qualitatively before operation. Ultrasonography, CT, MRI were used in diagnosing and locating parathyroid occupying lesion before operation. 2 cases of parathyroid cancer, 11 cases of parathyroid adenoma and 13 cases of parathyroid cysts with preoperative and postoperative diagnosis coincidence rate was 0 (0/2), 91% (10/11), 69% (9/13). All patients were treated with operation. 2 cases of parathyroid cancer survived with out recurrence during follow up for 17 months and 27 months after operation. 11 cases of parathyroid adenoma and 13 cases of parathyroid cysts were treated with operation, achieved complete remission and the outcome was no recurrence.
CONCLUSION
There lack of specific clinical symptoms of parathyroid occupying lesions, neck lump are common manifestations. Examination of serum calcium and PTH level together with ultrasonography, CT, MRI, 99mTc-MIBI is helpful to diagnose parathyroid occupying lesions. Parathyroid cancer preoperative diagnosis is difficult . Parathyroid occupying lesions determine the diagnosis depends on pathology. Surgery should be done as primary treatment.

Chinese Journal of Trauma 2009;25(7):663-667
Objective To observe the effect and mechanism of HA1077 on bone mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) promoting wound healing. Methods (1) In vitro study: rats' BMSCs were har-vested and divided into three groups randomly, ie, control group, induction group and HA1077 group. In control group, culture medium was DMEM with 10% fetal bovine serum. In induction group, induction medium was DMEM which consisted of 10% FBS, 8μg/ml EGF and epithelium culture condition medi-um. In HA1077 group, culture condition medium was the induction medium pins 10 μmol/L HA1077. At day 7 after replanting, CK19 expression, PCNA expression and cell cycle among three groups were clarified by flow cytometry. (2) In vivo study: rabbit's BMSCs were isolated. Six pieces of full skin loss wound were created on the back of a rabbit, with three pieces of wound on the half side of back. The wound was round and 3 cm in diameter. Eight New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into four groups, ie, control group (Group A), EGF control group (Group B), BMSCs group (Group C) and BMSCs + HA1077 group (Group D). Wounds were treated by normal saline in Group A and by EGF (50 U/cm2) in Group B. Besides EGF,1 ml of BMSCs suspension (2 × 106/ml) was used for wound re-pair in Group C. 0.5 ml HAIO77(20 μmol/L), BMSCs and EGF were used together for wound repair in GronpD. At days3, 7and 14 after injury, wound elosuroindex (WCI) was calculated. Results In vitro study:the positive rate of CK19 in the HA1077 group was (40.31±0.82)%, higher than (11.13±2.14)% in the induction group(P < 0.01). The PCNA positive rate and the S phase, cell quantity in HA1077 group were also higher than that in the induction group. In vivo study: WCI was (86.20±1.92) % in Group D at day 14 after injury, obviously higher than that in other three groups. Conclusions HA1077 can promote BMSCs' entering into S phase, expressing PCNA and differentiating and expressing CK19. In vivo combination of HA1077 with BMSCs may facilitate wound healing.
