1.The study of life confidence and the influencing factors of the elderly
Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2013;(10):17-20
Objective To investigate the factors affecting life confidence of the elderly, construct the structural equation model of influencing factors of life confidence of the elderly. Methods Data were collected through individual interviews in which standardized questionnaires were completed by 176 old people. Results There was non-significant difference between age, cultural level household register, medical insurance with life confidence of the elderly. While there were significant differences between sex, marital status, residence with life confidence of the elderly. There were highly significant differences between self-care,physical illness, and family relationship, social security, anxiety, depression with life confidence of the elderly.Regression analysis found that self-care,physical illness, social security, anxiety, depression entered the regression equation.SEM found that depression, anxiety, social security have a direct impact on the life confidence of the elderly.Self-care,physical illness had both direct and indirect influence on the life confidence of the elderly. Conclusions Those mental health workers should concern that demographic situations, social security, psychological starus have significant correlation with the life confidence of the elderly.

AIM: Using simvastatin and vitamine E (Vit-E) treatment to coronary artery disease (CAD) patients with low HDL, to investigate the relationship between Ox-LDL, platelet activation and HDL. METHODS: 40 CAD patients with low HDL were divided into two groups (A and B): A group oral simvastatin, B group oral simvastatin and Vit-E. The level of serum Ox-LDL, TXB 2 and GMP-140 were measured before and after treatment. The relationship between Ox-LDL, TXB 2, GMP-140 and HDL were analysed. RESULTS:The level of serum HDL was significantly increased in A and B group after treatment and attained normal level. The level of serum Ox-LDL, TXB 2 and GMP-140 were decreased significantly after simvastatin and Vit-E treatment and neared normal. CONCLUSIONS:This study confirmed that HDL can effectively refrain LDL oxidation. It also revealed that Vit-E and simvastatin treatment were more effectively refrained platelet activation by increasement of HDL and decreasement of Ox-LDL.
